However, since he had that pseudo-intellectual manner of speech (where you use phrasing and vocabulary that you think makes you sound intelligent) but wasn't a very good speller, it was easy to tell that all the posts were his.
He also relished being contrary in other threads, which caused a lot of troll-based drama.

Mostly the former. Latter are hard to get away with, so it'll usually be paints or brushes instead.
There's a guy I've been gaming with for years. He's just shitty enough of a roleplayer that I can't stand him, but just agreeable enough as a person that I can't justify kicking him out without pissing off everyone else. So I've been trying to annoy him out of the game. Making challenges that he can't participate in, having the enemies be immune to his best tactics, not including any of his (extremely scant and vague) backstory into the plot, etc.
Sometimes I would notice someone making a mistake in the game rules,but it'd be beneficial to me so I didn't say anything.

I ran dry of ideas for quests so I just stopped running the one I used to.
I kinda feel bad because I always had fun, and I think people did too, but that's that.Also, no matter how much I try to make different characters with different personalities when I play IRL, my characters tend to end up somewhat alike/having similar morals/etc.

I was one of the more prolific Harem Knights authors. In retrospect, a lot of the stuff I wrote was pretty crap. There was some good stuff in there, and I think the setting had a lot of potential, but I still wrote some pretty stupid shit.
