>Everything in front of her doubled. The trees, the mother and child, each blade of grass. Doubled, and then doubled again. A pounding ache ran through her head and she dropped to the ground, crumpled in pain. A field of white flashed through her eyes, followed by an image of many floating stone obelisks with intricate runes carved into their sides, moving in concert with each other...and then a normal scene resumed in front of her. Avacyn whipped her gaze around to identify the source of the attack. Few vampires had ever been powerful enough to launch such an assault. A demon lord, perhaps...

From what we have seen, the Lunarch church is still functioning and taking orders from Avacyn, so she isnt killing all humans randomly. Thus someone made this stained glass of hers.

I know, that, yes. But it doesn't make any sense that they're going around making slightly different stained glass images of her instead of going around inquisiting.

Er... but that doesn't explain why she's engulfed by strange madness. That's kind of the point of the mystery of the block. And those cards are also not related (though I didn't expect it to be that easy even being able to choose random cards together). It'sl ike if yo utook random flavor text to form "There Are Still Eldrazi On Zendikar". It'd be more impressive if you could make "Kozilek is hiding underneath the ground".

the clues were there all along!

No but it's a lot easier to find words to string together from the large pool of an entire set. This was only 6 cards to draw words from. That was my point. You can't make anything you want that actually has any significance to the plot out of the short flavor texts of 6 cards.

The most trashy format
>>
>>46251372
Would you prefer it if Lightning Bolt got included, creating a format where creatures with three or less toughness are only played for their ETB effects?
Or perhaps Tarmogoyf, Snapcaster or some other sort of Modern staple that would utterly dominate Standard for the next year and and a half?
>>
>>46251438
Not him. But there's a lot of parasitic shit. I'm not talking about tribal stuff, I mean stuff that says "Investigate" and "Clue" in the text box that don't actually Investigate or make Clues.

Lots of the equipment suck. And they're pushing equipment in the set like the card designs are discards from Zendikar. They've made equipment bad (which I think is a good thing for Limited) but they're wasting our fucking time when they print unplayable garbage and make it even worse when they push cards that are equipment dependent when we don't want to put a lot of that garbage in our deck in the first place.

Making stained glass windows and inquisiting are two different skill sets. Maybe the window makers aren't very good at being inquisitors.
>>

On a more serious note, it would be nice if instead of giving g Blue nothing but 4+ cmc generic counter spells, they focused on making more counter spells that only counter specific things.

The usual complaints against them involve how a single counter spell can shut down anything, but a better solution is just to make counter spells more specialized rather than expensive to the point of uselessness.

Sums up my thoughts to a T. There's some outstanding uncommons, great commons (black even has usable spot removal).
Sure there's some trash mythics, but most of the rares are viable in some way or another... buuuut werewolves are still garbage.

Pretty good SB card for opposing aggro decks, especially if they have smaller critters.

Putting this on a 1st turn mana dork in Elves is a good application, or really any critter that you can easily beat in combat. Card is really solid, shame the horror doesn't have evasion, but that would make it too good.

>4/4/ Trample Hexproof for 3 cmc.
This is really misleading. This card will probably never be a 4/4 trample hexproof that can attack next turn for 3. It might be a 4/4 with hexproof and trample a good portion of the time more often on turn 4 and on, but I would be surprised if even constructed, much less limited, could consistently hit delirium before its upkeep on turn 4.

It transforms end of turn, actually. It's no slower than any other creature without haste. And it's not the most efficient green creature ever but 2G for a 4/4 hexproof trampler is nothing to sneeze at.

>>
Anything worth playing in pauper?
>>
>>46253909
Oh, no, I didn't mean that it was slower than a creature without haste. Whether it flipped at the next end step or your next up keep didn't matter in that respect. But checking upkeep gave you the opportunity to do something for delirium during the opponent's turn which is all I was factoring in by saying that. Transforming durign end step is actually better since it can block rather than spend another turn doing nothing.

My point is really just that it's not as above-curve as it reads because of the requirements of Delirium probably almost never going to actually be live on turn 3 without a pretty crazy set up. It's more likely it'll be transforming turn 4-5. Still a decent creature then but not real notable or anything.
>>
>>46253948
The other TCG do it so MtG must do it, like that new players won't be confused when they try MtG.
>>
>>46253948
To be honest Magic would be better off for players as an LCG with sets trimmed down to a playset of the like 50 or 60 actual cards of value in the set and not jank like 2/2 vanilla werewolf that transforms into a 4/4 vanilla or a 5 mana conditional kill spell that makes you pay even more mana to draw a card or etc. But their business model is based around gambling and sucking as much money as possible, so we're stuck with what we have.

>>
>>46254021

That's fine, you don't have to love it. I was initially just responding to the claim that it's a "do nothing enchantment" when it obviously is meant to go in a deck where it's almost always a 4/4 for 3 with two additional upsides. That analysis was so far off the mark it might as well be satire.

Dredge players are like hitler. All shouting how they are the best but bend over to the hate
>>
>>46254055
Sounds like someone needs to play what my group does.
We call it Dumpster Diving Casual.

Basically what we do is we take the garbage cards with no real value and put them in a sorted pool. We all build decks from this pool (Pauper rules, but you're limited to also 5 rares max all of which the group must agree is shitty and is $1 or less) and you make a deck with those garbage cards.

Beers and banter suggested.

Occasionally we burn the decks after a while (taking out the rares or uncomons) or just ziplock the whole thing and leave them in libraries or something for other players to pick them up or for kids to maybe find and get into the game.
>>
>>46254187

>>
>>46254188

>>46254055
Because limited is the most played format, Wizards caters to it more than any other format and centers design around it.

Because Wizards caters to limited more than any other format and centers design around it, it ends up being the most played format.
>>
>>46253925
Probably just Planeswalkers.
>>
>>46254055

I'm still waiting for an LCG Magic clone to come along and fuck WotC over. Hearthstone came really close with the "get literally everything ever for free" model and but they still reward spending money on randomized packs enough not to count (even though every other expansion is non-randomized). It's only a matter of time, new games come out every year and people grow more and more disillusioned with Magic's blatant cash grab format. There's a goldmine in that idea just waiting for someone to execute it properly.
>>
>>46254280

Enchantress is Dredge's worst matchup though. Even game 1, the enchantress player has 70/30 winrate in their favor. A single Elephant Grass shuts down the beatdown route, and Solitary Confinement seals the deal for any Flayer wincon
