New Mexico reporting in. Shit poor state, called the "Land of ENchantment, so it could be a state full of magical items, maybe a lot of haunted items. Evil chairs and such. The people that live here all call it "The Land of Entrapment" because no one that leaves stays gone for too long, so maybe the land itself is full of sentient caves? Carlsbad Caverns does exist here, pretty giant cave system. We have La Llarona too, bitch will straight kill your children.

People wake up inside of stasis chambers and escape to find themselves in some post apocalyptic theme park.
All around them are swamps full of pungent, massive oranges, giant insects, and dinosaur sized reptiles.
Oh, and some nice beaches, I guess.
They have to utilize whatever that can scavenge from the park to fight against the wilderness to survive.

Rich bureaucrats and bankers travel into the city island most days to deal in the affluent business of New York trade. They live in luxury and wealth, and have local minorities care for their needs and their land. The disjointed minorities, however, are planning a rebellion from the north.
>>
Virginia

Typical port cities where the Navy and various other military and government agencies headquarter themselves being just south of the capital.

The 7 cities area is just a more boring version of Ravnica minus the Rakdos and Dimir
>>
A coastal empire split in two by a recent civil war, now forming four distinct regional civilizations. To the North are the teeming masses from the fallen empire, who claim the Capitol of the former empire as their own, but do not occupy it, being separated by massive graveyards and the petrified arteries of commerce from that ancient empire. There are few places that are not the remnants of the empite or overcrowded cities. The people lack an identity but have the technological and population edge.
The people of the West dwell in the hills and valleys that border the kingdom. A people close to the land, familial clans outnumber the surviving outposts of the old empire, but are on good terms. Beautiful landscapes above and below ground, mostly untouched. Dangers are well known but still deadly. They allied with the South against the North in the recent war and there are some holdouts today who either still fight the war or refuse to admit their loss. Rumored to have lost a large swath of territory to their barbarian cousins in the NorthWest.
The South has thrived in modern times, despite losing the civil war. It maintains a strong agricultural base while it's industries and military grow ever mightier. It makes greater use of its harbors than the North and maintains close ties to the West. Despite losing the war it maintains a strong cultural identity and aims to eclipse it's Northern neighbor.
Finally, the East. An isolated island across a shallow sea, this remnant of the old empire is technically aligned with the North, as they were occupied by the North during the recent civil war. Today they prefer isolation and self suffiency, maintaining loose trade ties to the North and South. Recently a community of radical thought and experimental chemists have taken up residence, but repeated failures have stymied their growth.

Jesus, I refuse to believe you're a native here. A better idea would be tech wizards (With the Woz as archmage) and witches.
>>
>British Columbia

Not!Chinese colonists versus local whites versus First Nation elves
>>
>>46225228
That would be North California. We could be three kingdoms tied together. South for trade, Central for farming, and North for Tech.
>>
>Oregon

Snobby druids inhabit the western reaches mopeing in the rain and sheltering under giant trees covered in moss while east of the mountains live hard scrabble ranchers and farmers pulling a living from their desert. These two factions hold each other in notable contempt and barely identify as inhabitants of the same state. In the mountains and deep forests live only the toughest of woodsmen and the most fanatical of druids, snubbing both of the other major populations as "not getting it."
>>
>>46225228
yeah ther arent that many tech jobs in so cal for that to be true here. But OP is really off as well, since the biggest thing we have here is our proximity to mexico and the prevalence of drugs here.
>>
>>46225412
I can accept that, though I imagine it'd be more like two kingdoms. North for tech, South for trade with both having equal parts farming. Here in NorCal there are a shitload of orchards and such everywhere. Especially with places like Napa.

A flat and empty land inhabited only by pagan barbarians huddled together in a handful small settlements. Every few days, notoriously terrible storms plague the land and drive out any attempts at civilized colonization. Every large city bordering the land refuses to have anything to do with it and forms its own political entity.
That and lots of incest in the north.

Three kingdoms in trade with a merchant city. Then in the summer months the festival of the pig begins where people far and wide come to celebrate by smoking whole hogs and getting drunk on homemade alcohol called "the moon's shine". There is also a huge following of horse racers. Especially the jockey who bore the black and white 3. People come from across the continent and stay for days at the track to watch a few hours of racing.

>NRW
A dozen or so large cities are clustered around the center of this land, in constant economic and military struggle against each other. They are secretly each run by a council of wizards that keep the proletarian population in check and abuse them for their goals.
Even though nobody really cares about the outer parts of the realm, the population is essentially divided into three distinct cultures. There's dwarves with a thing for multiculturalism and a strange brew around the large river in the southwest. Then there's the somewhat more civilized descendants of the Lower Saxon barbarians up north. In the far northeast, a small bunch of hillbilly elves refuse to talk to anyone outside their puny little community.

No one is allowed to have magic except the authorities, you're not allowed to have anything above a dagger, and it has to be under 5 inches from tip to blade end, despite all your neighbors having illegally-obtained long swords and spears and mauls that have been on the california black market for 20 years already.

>Kiev Oblast, Ukraine
A city-state where crushing poverty and lavish wealth interweave on the ancient cobblestone streets surrounded by miles of decaying countryside. There is police but not medical care inside the city walls. Whether you are rich or poor, your wounds fester and heal at a fraction of their normal rate when you are in the city. Nobody knows why but everyone thinks yet know whom to blame for it. If you are injured, your best bet for survival is to leave. You will come back, though, if not for the wealth then to take part in the ritual of passing of the crown. In this ritual people fight in the streets for the right of their guild's cheif to become the new emperor. Little do they know that the guild Chiefs are the result of an experiment in magical duplication of living things.

>Florida
An apocalyptic setting of swamps and decaying urban sprawl.
The people of this land fall prey to a hazy curse that numbs the mind and drives one to blithering insanity.
Some even say this curse is due to alien gods beyond mortal comprehension.

Those who are pure live among large groups and struggle to retain their civilized ways of life, but cannot understand each others varied languages and bastardized phrases, creating mistrust and paranoia.

This is a land of wild cryptids and vengeful spirits and the addle-brained adventures that hold them back.
This is a land of constant destruction and renewal to such a rapid degree that the mere notion of routine is alien.
This is a land of chaotic nonsense, where no traveler dares to tread.
This is land is the Graveyard Echo, the DeathKnell, the Call of Madness.
This land shall be your grave.
>>
I want to play all of these ideas.
>>
>>46230690
>Cont.
To the North of this twisted landscape lies the the desecrated cathedral of Taal'Hasah, occupied by a dreadful Lich.
It too has fallen prey to the curse of the mind, and lashes out its dark power against any and all who dare enter the Graveyard Echo.
The vengeful bones of long dead knights haunt the winding roads, clad in rusting plate and bearing the mark of the Mad Lich, a crimson X.
Ghostly spirits with the shadowy faces of mockingbirds terrorize the swamplands, forever attempting to reclaim their rightful lands.

But further into the swampland lies terror beyond mere mortal minds, great scaled beasts skulk within the murky depths, wild cats with maws of blades lie in wait within tall grasses, and horrid mutants that were once men and women devour any and all they see with their unhinged maws.
Great serpents patrol the shadows, making false pact and empty promises to those who dare venture into the wilds.

But worst of all is what cannot be seen, what cannot be heard. A great evil is upon this land, an evil biding its time. Perhaps this land may yet be saved, or perhaps it is already to late.

The state is so constantly under construction that our state flower might as well be the construction cone. It's the home state of Wendy's, White Castle, and Donatos. A massive citadel city, ruled by bard-mages sends out slavers and pipesmiths to extract every ounce of water to convert to a highly addictive euphoria inducing elixer that can also grant bursts of energy and mental toughness, forcing the people of the land into servitude and perpetual dance to ensure access to it. The city ever expands, ever growing, ever seeking to entrap more subjects. The moon worshipping mountain riflemen of the north, the wealthy ancient horsemen of the East and the stormweaver's and rangers of the pine deserts and coasts must band together to awaken the ancient heroes entombed in a massive Stone at the center of the city to free the land of the devouring circus.

>North Carolina

Sparsely populated mountains in the west, sandy beaches in the east. Beaches are slammed with hurricane after hurricane in the summers, but most residents treat it as an inconvenience. Some inlanders move there for the beach life, then the coastals laugh at them when their big showy beach mansions get flattened by a super storm.

Middle of the region is gentle rolling hills and flat plains. The capitol is a group of three cities, tightly linked by geography and grade. Lots of technical research and development, various public guilds and colleges and private companies. West of that is another major urban area, focused more on low-tech consumer goods. It made its name in textiles and though that industry has moved elsewhere, it is still home to legendary furniture craftsmen.

Doesn't really get along with neighbors. Northern kingdoms think it's too southern, and vise versa.

Culturally it seems peaceful at a glance, but there's serious racial tensions lurking just beneath the surface. A great place to visit, but be very choosy about where you settle if you plan to stay.
