What do you folks think of my boss concept? Just wrote this out.
A lich with a gigantic, brass-colored, adamantine, spider-like mechanical body. Each arm of this body ends in a 7-fingered claw. The lich uses these powerful arms to smash downwards and attack its enemies. Attached to the top of this body are many coffin-like apparatuses for capturing humanoids and draining their life energy. The lich will attempt to either use magic to teleport characters into these, or physically grab them with one of its many legs and place them inside. At the center of this body, where the legs converge, is a clear chamber containing the lich's true body: a small, shriveled, fetus-like corpse. The lich is capable of firing death rays, like the kind used by beholders, out of this chamber, from a spectral red eye that manifests in front of it.
The lich's physical body needs to be damaged in order to kill it. Each leg has a certain number of HP. When enough damage is dealt to a single leg, the entire structure will briefly collapse, allowing the characters fighting the lich to briefly wail on the lich's true form, before the entire structure rises back up, and the fight continues, moving onto the next, more difficult, stage. Once the lich's true form is defeated, instead of dying, it will erupt into a giant, venous monstrosity, and the final stage of the fight will begin. If this stage is defeated, the lich dies permanently.

A circle that's about the size of a man. Not a sphere, just a clear circle with a black outline. When it needs to talk to someone, it just sends an angel (Not the humanoid one, the old school ones with wheels and shit) or appears to people as a giant old white guy with long flowing beards.
