Best howling mine effect they've printed?

Wellll
It's okay I guess
Prolly not as good as howling mine itself
The decks that want howling mine care more about the mana cost than the chance to ping your opponent

it's not supposed to be howling mine
it's supposed to be howling mine AND owl, together
i could see a cheapo UR tempo deck coming together around this, with the madness unsummon and other tricky tricks
It seems ok, big things are that it gives you the card almost straight away, and the opponent can't use their one for a whole round unless they both leave mana open and draw an instant.
Also offers some damage against slow decks but is pretty much just as awful against an aggresive deck as this effect usually it seems, it's alright, more playable than the effect usually is.

I'd agree with this, the card, if it did see play would probably be in something like that, by the time the opponent is actually drawing cards off it and using them it's ideally dealt 4 damage and drawn you 2 cards. Still probably not good enough, but interesting to see how small tweaks make it such a different card.

I play Nekusar aswell but that card seems very slow for what it does.
I'd rather pillow fort or fetch a real combo so I can win. Don't you agree?

Leoric, is that you?
card makes me think of this guy who played a black vice deck on Casual night.

Also worth noting that Black Vise was recently unbanned in Legacy.

I play him too... I'll test this in place of my font of mythos or well of ideas....idk it feels like a middle ground between those.
