fine in Commander (noticeably weaker than Sol Ring and Mana Crypt at least)

busted in every other constructed environment, including Vintage, and also busted in limited. If it sacrificed on use it'd be fine though, and that would fit the flavor better IMO

for reference, Modern combo decks gladly play things like Pentad Prism for mana ramp that are approximately a billion times worse than this card

kind of obscene, if you can get slightly ahead on permanent count (even by playing bad one-drops, but especially with any kind of token generation or recursion) then you quickly lock your opponent out of the game completely. This either needs to be much more expensive (so it doesn't hit the battlefield even faster than Smokestack) or have a cost on the ability that prevents it from being used ad infinitum, maybe life, maybe discarding a card, maybe putting -1/-1 counters on Ratrik or something.

I don't think you can replace sac effects like that. What if you're saccing something as part of a cost for a spell, like Fling? Now you haven't actually sacrificed anything, does Fling deal any damage? I would do this:

It's now about the same or even somewhat worse than a 1-mana dork, so Modern/Legacy/Vintage wouldn't bother anymore outside of 0-cost artifact interactions. But it's still a fairly powerful ramp spell in Limited, and could definitely be Standard-playable, if only because of the occasional nut draw where you play multiples early and drop your 4-mana planeswalker on turn 2 or something

Speaking of 1-mana walkers, I tried it once and this was the best I could come up with. I mean, it's +1 actively prevents you from defending yourself or itself so it's totally balanced, right?

this is stupid. the -3 is really really weak but the -4 is VERY impactful. the -3 needs to be changed to something else entirely. if it were a -1 it would probably be too strong, but if it were a -2 i feel like you'd still just always go for the -4 instead.

other than that it's a cool idea. it's probably balanced, although it is a really weird card so it is hard to say for sure.

For some reason I'm on a mox kick. I tried to make a phyrexian mox. How do I balance this? I'm sure 4 potential mana on turn 1 can easily end the game before poison kills you next turn.

+1: Put a 1/1 red Devil creature token with "When this creature dies, it deals 1 damage to target creature or player" onto the battlefield. You lose X life, where X is the number of loyalty counters on ~ minus two.

-2: Draw a card, then discard a card at random.

Starting loyalty: 5

Round three. I don't even care anymore if it's not balanced, I'm not removing the damage completely. Originally I was thinking of trying to cram the words "devil" and "deal" onto the card as many times as I possibly could and still have it be functional, but I think the appeal of a 1-mana 2-ability walker has overcome that.

The main issue is repeatable pings are usually CMC2-3, so this, even though it hurts you too, is immensely useful. It basically prevents your opponent from playing anything with 1 toughness. I know you said you don't really care, but I figured I'd explain why people would object to a +1 like that on such a cheap PW if you weren't aware of it.

You could do something like that, yeah.

+1: You may pay 2 life. If you do, ~ deals 1 damage to target creature or player.

This might be okay. Black can certainly handle paying life for things. It's still oppressive in a deck that doesn't rely on creatures or can get life back easily with efficient lifelinkers or spells, but it's not quite so bad at CMC1 as a 1-for-1 would be, I think.

I don't know why, but it makes me think of some fantasy mob language.

And it sounds like a horrible idea, no offense. Anus is bad enough, but multicolored-less feels wrong.

That said, I'll give it a shot, why not.

+1 for Cuombajj Witches's effect *might* be OK, it would also feel more like a 'deal' card as the effect is symmetrical.
It would also help to balance the otherwise insane -3, which would be to good against controllish decks if the +1 did literally nothing (with +1 being witch's ability they can redirect the damage to tibalt).
Even after that it might need a nerf.

Just some concepts for legends with 4-color identities. Numbers are ballpark estimates, really just trying to get the concepts to feel well-blended.

I'd like a way for UB one to feel more blue, and I've no idea what to throw on the WU one. BR one is a bit cruddy, what are some abilities that might have more synergy?
