I doubt its frowned upon, but good luck finding anyone wanting to part with their stuff that isnt going to hit ebay tier prices. Also lantern festival isnt out yet.
>>
>>46162488
Tons of this is already available as resin recasts for <15burgerdollars each.

I think I paid 7 dollars for ammo slave and 12 for storm knight.

You can "Act" during those flow points of a card (the little arrow that points down to the attack effects), usually between when it moves and acts.

>>46162545
>>46162488
I could sell you my fighter for like $85-90 if you want it, standard ebay prices. Got the art cards too.

Like Chinaman for GW/FW stuff.
It's someone making a mold of the resins and selling reproductions.

Looks like a pinup for the Kingdom Death webstore, not something that's part of the Kingdom Death Monster lineup.
>>
I have to say, I am getting pretty tired of the 1-2 result on Brain Trauma. In the early game, there isn't a hell of a lot you can do to give yourself more Insanity. So you get brain traumas waaaaay more often than you get Severe Injuries, since you can often dodge or use armor in between you in damage.

It feels super lame to get intimidated on a perfectly unharmed dude who has no disorders or anything and suddenly "oops, scared to death!"

Of the four survivors that this new settlement has lost thus far, three of them have been to low roll brain trauma. And its only year 3.
>>
>>46163214
Just remove Roar from the AI deck until like year 3-4, it's retarded in the early game phases and speaks to the amount of playtesting Poots did.

Accept the Darkness, Anon.
>>
>>46163513
You lost 3 people to Terrifying Roar?! Jesus dude, I think the problem is your rotten luck rather than anything else.
>>
>>46163606
My friends and I started a People of the Stars campaign and almost wiped to the starter white lion because it got into a cycle of using Terrifying Roar over and over again and made two of our dudes run off while the other two had trouble wounding it
>>
>>46163641
Why didn't you use your Founding stones after the first loop?
>>
>>46163606
That wasn't me, but I've seen Roar wipe out enough people early game to know it's kinda shitty to throw in the starter decks when there's no possible defense.
>>
>>46163693
The two that survived the roar already used them. The ones that didn't planned to save them
>>
>>46162988
There hasn't been a model that we know of released yet, no.
>>
Where is a good place to get models for cheaper? And where can I find the rulebooks? Is this game worth getting into? It looks very interesting.
>>
>>46163881

If you want to actually play the game, the books and the models won't help you on their own. There are too many other pieces, like cards and gear. To play, you pretty much need to just pony up the money for the full game.
>>
>>46163744
Roar is only one card dude. Plus, Accept Darkness makes brain traumas not lethal no matter what you roll.
>>
>>46163952
Can you not read or something? Or just moronically dense?

Roar can still kill off tons of people super fast because early game you have zero insanity and it hits everyone.

Accept Darkness doesn't apply because we are talking pre year 4 you doofus.

>>
>>46165814
Release content in a digital format then.

The people who want it digitally aren't going to buy the physical versions at the current price ranges, especially if they're not interested in models.

Additionally, a lot of people want the ability to play this online with friends, something you couldn't do with traditional media anyways. I own the core game, and used the scans provided here to play online. I'll do the same for expansions when they become available, having already ordered Dragon King.

Having someone else scan just saves time and effort, and something like TTS provides a format for me to share the games with friends the actual board game couldn't reach.
>>
>>46165899
>>46165905
Poots already showed up once a while ago to ask TTSfag to stop doing his thing so I can see this being legit.
>>
>>46166031
Yeah, I realize this might be the real guy. But I won't automatically take for granted it is.

Also, pirating shit is not particularly kosher, but 4chan is not famous for abiding to laws and moral.
>>
>>46166121
It sucks that people are so willing to steal from a small one man operation though.

Giants like GW? Yea why not scan their overpriced books. But when one guy is busting his ass for a labour of love?
Kinda shitty.

And also you have entitled faggots like this; (>>46165905) demanding digital versions while ignoring the cost and logistics not to mention impact on the business.

Basically a lot of short sighted comments by teenagers who have never and will never run a business, and it's just a bit of a bummer.
>>
>>46166291
poots is a trust fund baby money doesn't matter to him
>>
>>46166331
>Lying to give yourself the moral high ground.
Really now?
>>
>>46166291
It's not a one man operation.

Regardless, he has the power to release things in a digital format. I can understand him not doing it, wanting to keep with where he feels the game though, but if he didn't want it floating around in a digital space, he should be the one to take the initiative.

Like stated, a bunch of us just want to be able to play it online, already owning the content, but might not have the equipment to create scans.

Also, the whole giant versus one man isn't really a good argument to make. It's doing the exact same thing. There is no moral high ground in it.
>>
>>46166416
>It's not a one man operation.
It pretty much is. In house small business that's literally a mom and pop shop?

>if he didn't want it floating around in a digital space, he should be the one to take the initiative.
He is by shutting down the mod on TTS?

Yea but you're not playing online with your local friends, you're spreading it online lol.

>Also, the whole giant versus one man isn't really a good argument to make. It's doing the exact same thing. There is no moral high ground in it.
Well actually the point is that a huge business can absorb the loss while the one man op takes a significant loss with each piece of stolen material.
But I don't expect you to understand that.

I don't even care that much, but you're making excuses for your shitty behaviour when you should just accept you're kind of a dick.
>>
>>46166502
>Yea but you're not playing online with your local friends, you're spreading it online lol.

What do you mean "you"?

I downloaded the original rulebook and scans and used it to play it on roll20 with a group of friends. Two of us are in the south, one's on the west coast, and one is in Europe. There's no way we'd ever be able to sit down and play the game together in person.

That being said I own the core game, so it is exactly what I said it is. For me at least. If he made the content available digitally for a reasonable price, I'd buy it. I bought the core game and some figures to support him, I just can't play it with people who'd enjoy the game because we're scattered all over.

Regardless, there's no losses to be had when someone already owns the game and wants high rez scans to play online. I'd rather not go through and take pictures of all my cards with my phone and upload them. It's a time consuming process that doesn't look good.

As for the people who would use the content without owning original sources, you can't call them straight losses. There's no way to say how many people would actually buy the game at the current price point, especially if they couldn't play online. People who wouldn't buy the game anyways, but use it digitally for free aren't a loss.

I've got a few pics of the lonely tree from several angles, should I do multiple high res images or would it be better to try to composite everything together?
>>
>>46166764
And I'm sure your experience mirrors everyone who downloaded assests to play the game right lol.

Who knows how many people would buy the game if they couldn't just steal it. Or maybe they wouldn't buy it anyway?
The point is -some- sales won't ever happen because you copied the material and spread it online.
For a small business those sales matter a lot.

Saying they're not a loss is incredibly disingenuous and just comes across as you trying to maintain your moral integrity.

Copying a boardgame isn't like copying a book.
>>
>>46166951
I never said that.

I speak for myself, and state that there are a lot of unknowns. I want scans for me, and am okay with it for the reasons I stated. There exists a good reason for them to exist.

You can hoot and holler about how scans coming out would be the apocalypse for this boutique board game but I think we both know it not to be true.

You can read and interpret what I say however you want though. c;
>>
>>46166951
>Copying a boardgame isn't like copying a book.
And even copying a book is not exactly morally okay for the most part
>>
>>46167116
Books and GW are okay just not our lord and savior Poots!!
>>
>>46167043
Like I said, I don't even really care and I just think it's a shitty thing to do to a small business lol. When the Creator of a game comes to your secret hidey hole and asks you to stop usually you can take the hint ;)

No wonder you play online with folks overseas and have no local friends to play with eh?
>>
>>46167116
There's evidence to suggest that some books actually enter wider circulation after being copied. But they're usually one offs from small authors in tiny publishing houses.

>>46167143
That's cute. But you're still stupid sadly enough.
>>
>>46167148
Getting so uppity that someone is doing something you don't like? What low self-esteem you have.

More so most of my friends who game nearby aren't big into dark fantasy. One wouldn't stop quoting about how phallic everything in the game is when we did a trial run. Perhaps he's just obsessed with penises though.

Plus it's easier to organize and play online when everything is kept neat and tidy from play session to play session.
>>
>>46165693
We haven't pushed much in the way of late game yet (next weekend), but it's actually quite nice compared to the main campaign due to the slightly more relaxed pace. One of he biggest changes is that no survivors can't wear heavy armor or use heavy gear. So you will need to adjust builds accordingly.

Purification is serious business, never breed without both parents being purified. Every 6 years or so you get a rays of light event, which will allow you to seriously buff (or kill) a pair of purified survivors. Lastly the Katana event is pretty cool in that you get a bunch of eye patches that give +2 STR if blinded. Then the event goes ahead and blinds (lose 1 eye) a bunch of survivors for you. The Katana mastery (only for Sunstalker campaign) gives buffs for Katanas if your blind, but if a survivor maxes out on Katana Mastery, they leave the settlement never to return to be a wandering sword master (More to the Poots is a 'Weeaboo' file).

He really needs to errata all the blind stuff into 'lost an eye' in both the Sunstalker campaign and on the serious injury table. It was damn confusing when we first went through the event thinking that suddenly a bunch of survivors needed those Tappy sticks and sunglasses.
>>
>>46165814
If you're the real poots, nice of you to drop by, and keep making awesome games and stuff.

It's bad that people are copying it and you should keep pulling those illegal copies down - but at least as a small developer you can also take it as validation:
Your game is interesting and exciting enough that people are making a digitized version, bothering to find and get the pirated version.
Also what the other Anon here said about playing online while owning a legal copy is something that's a good sign for the game you made.
Personally, as a one-of-everything backer from the original KS, I can say that this game caught me from first sight, and keeps amazing me and pushing new limits every time.

I <3 Poots indeed.

He didn't tell TTS Anon to stop, he just said he had been turning a blind eye to it til Larry on the Kickstarter comments decided to throw a fuss about it and how people who hadn't bought the game could play it before backers could.

>>46165814
This is fake. Poots has always posted images that no one else could have screencaps of in his posts for verification. The Paladin image was one of them.
>>
>>46167307

>>
>>46166416
He's said he's in talks with Berserk to try and get a digital version on TTS or something.

Obviously going to come after the Kickstarter fulfillment is finished, but it's in the works.

I'd imagine most everyone who's only able to play via TTS would be switching over to that even if it's paid dlc when it comes out.
>>
>>46167358
I've never used TTS, is it any good? I heard there were a lot of issues with things falling through the table, images not loading, etc. That being said, handling so many assets and deck building was easy.

I'd be all about that shit if it worked well though.

>>46167148
Poots is selling out of expansions on his webshop. He's doing completely fine.

People pirating his game for the sake of playing the game for free wouldn't have bought the game to begin with. He's not losing sales off of them. What he will be losing sales from will be from legitimate buyers who just happen to want an option to play online he'll end up annoying if he decides to go overboard with the DMCAs.
>>
*Faint raised hand* if not for the expansion scans I probably wouldn't have bought Dung Beetle Knight, and maybe not Flower Knight either, and wouldn't have even considered slendy.

But that's just the book scans. I can say less about TTS

>>46167320
>This is fake. Poots has always posted images that no one else could have screencaps of in his posts for verification. The Paladin image was one of them.
This is probably true, though? I do recall poots posts way back accompanied by the Paladin and a sweet plague-doctor-esque design that we haven't heard any more out of but that looked to fit with the range.
>>
>>46167400
Currently among Roll20, vassal, and other "tabletop sims", it's the best made for Kingdom Death: Monster since KDM requires so many features like decks, a game board, tokens, etc. The only weakness it has is that there's no character sheet method, but that's circumventable via the in-game tablet, actual pen and paper, and maybe just outright using the text tool in game and scribbling all over the board.
>>
>>46167527
Yeah we used roll 20 and google docs for everything.

I had all the cards in person so I'd make decks and just show the cards on screen. That being said, with all the expansions I feel like I'd run out of desk space...
>>
>>46167400
Images not loading and shit falling through tables is more often than not the fault of the mod makers.
>>
So any reups for the mega link?
>>
>>46167494

>>
>>46167629
I'd imagine an official mod by the actual client devs themselves, if Poots manages to get around to talking with them about it, would be a whole lot more stable than any mods we're seeing made here or on Steam.

Poots specifically ruled on that part, too - if the attack / damage is done during the flow (i.e. while a card is being played), the active card is neither in the AI or discard pile, and thus is not eligible to be moved to the Wound stack. If it happens to be the last AI card, the monster dies (basically giving the survivors a "free" wound).

On the flipside, one other thing he ruled in monsters' favor regarding these endless loops, the "Draw [AI]" part of cards like the Butcher's Kick is performed after the current card is discarded. So, for example, a single Kick card is enough to make an endless loop (instead of requiring two of them.

Hesitant to believe that this is Poots. The typos don't match his typical typos, and seem too forced.

Also, this goes against the philosophy he has stated in the past, which is to turn a blind eye to it unless KS backers complain.

There are also multiple mods on Steam at the moment of the core game, with no DMCA's filed against them, as no one has complained about them.

>>46166031
He did it on behalf of backers, and contacted me privately to ask me to remove it because of the unrest it was causing.

>>46166331
That's not actually true at all anon. In fact, he is very much in the red right now.

>>46167629
Images are generally the fault of the creator. Shit falling through was an issue with how the game loaded Token assets, where it would load them with physics but without a collision box, causing them to fall through the table, and ignore the "shredder" under the table that moves objects back on top of the table. It's the main reason I started using models in place of tokens, back when I first made the mod. That bug is gone now though.

>>46167665
Oh yeah. And MUCH better quality as well. No contest. Plus an official mod would likely have the story events + rules directly in the mod in an easy to navigate format.

>>46167735
Has it now actually. Kinda. You can use the vector tool on any locked object.
>>
>>46168122

TTS Anon, would scans of the fronts of the expansion boxes work for tokens for the monsters?

Also may want to look at this modification of the mod:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=649106172
>>
>>46168122
Actually mods on the workshop get taken down and reuploaded fairly often.

Also, there are plenty of mods that have models with their collision not properly set so that if they land at a certain angle, it results in the entire model clipping through the table.

Vector on locked objects might be neat, but does the vector stay on the object upon locking it? There are a lot of character sheets used in KDM for example, and those need to be moved about.

You might be able to use the Rulebook feature to insert the story and table events into the mod.

I will not be adding the rules to the mod. Its one of the things I talked with Poots about that I would never do.

Also no, if you unlock and move the object, the vectors remain in place. At least, the last time I tried it. Not sure if its changed since then.

>>46168511
Yes. The only good images that existed of the board were from the KS updates, after which it was changed and the board got recentered. So it doesn't blend in well at all. I've replaced it with just a blank grid that has the middle lines of the grid highlighted, for easier placement of stuff during setup.

>>46168245
I saw it. Its... not that great. It uses the default TTS boards, which are terrible, as they take up more space then necessary, and you cant zoom in on them.. The minis increase load time by a stupid amount, and the floating assets just plain look bad, and if they load in the wrong order will cause everything to fall and respawn, making a massive mess.
>>
>>46168904
Oh.

Well that's kinda lame.

The base game monsters have their emblems in the core rulebook though, don't they?

I can try and get 1200 dpi scans of the card backs if those work too.
>>
>>46168904
OK, that does look better. Please consider going with not white on black for the lines, maybe like 80/20 gray on black or maybe thinner lines. Starting on high contrast lines for hours hurts eyes, at least mine.

Alternatively, is it easy to modify? I could try playing with it when you release.

Finally the black lines showing facing of the token could be way bigger.

I recently began painting minis for the first time, after a few test runs on cheap reaper minis I decided to try my magnetized model.

If you guys don't mind some C&C would be appreciated. I've been trying to thin my paints but I'm not sure I'm doing that well.

Also I prime in black but haven't started the arms yet.
>>
>>46175558
This already looks better than 90% of the stuff that's usually posted here by the abundance of no-talent hobbyists seeking validation from internet strangers.

You could thin your paints a bit more. Either clear up the smudges or turn it into weathering.
>>
>>46175558
Thanks man, I really want to get good and paint all my KD Minis. I generally use one drop of water for one drop of paint, like 50/50 or 40 water and 60 paint. When it's too watery it kind of just goes into the groves, like washes tend to. Is that normal?
What is weathering?

Also, I'm aiming to fix the smudges after most of the model is painted, is that ok?
Sorry if I'm asking too much.
>>
>>46175558
..you just glued the magnets to his hands? No holes drilled to insert them into?

As for your painting, you'll want to get in on blacklining/outlining. A thin dark line around every area to make all the details pop.
>>
>>46175855
>When it's too watery it kind of just goes into the groves, like washes tend to. Is that normal?
Absolutely. It's actually called washing. "Wash" paints are just paints that come mixed with a diluter called medium which makes this effect work better. You can actually buy medium (e.g. GW Lahmian Medium) and mix it with any paint to make a wash. Be warned though, there's a reason most out-if-the-bottle washes are dark colors.
>What is weathering?
An umbrella term of making the model look more aged / dirty / "used". Stuff like:
* Adding dust / dirt to lower parts of the model
* Adding rust to metallic parts
* Adding wear to parts that are painted (e.g. painting a tank model so that there is exposed "metal" instead of paint in places where a real tank would scrape - usually done by metallic paints)
* Making fabrics torn, washed-out, or faded
etc. etc.
>Also, I'm aiming to fix the smudges after most of the model is painted, is that ok?
Yes, but it would be easier if you kept some toilet paper (or a soft cloth rag that you dedicate to this) next to you while painting, to absorb excess paint.
>Sorry if I'm asking too much.
Not at all.
>>
>>46175887
Admittedly, yeah I did. I was too afraid of fucking the hands up, I'm new to magnetizing and building minis. I can see outlining the leg armor, but how would you outline the loincloth area? Would drybushing be better for that specific spot? Thanks.

>>46175983
In this case, how would you weather the mini? Aging the armor, the fur? This specific mini doesn't have defined muscles so I don't think dirtying the skin would be helpful but I did use a little Agrax earthshade for the tiniest groove.

I think making the fabric look torn is too advanced for me atm.
Funny enough I do have soft paper for the paint but only use it for excess washes. Thanks so much for the helpful response.
>>
>>46176528
>how would you weather the mini?
Depending on what you like, here are a few ideas:
* Like you said agrax earthshade is your friend. using it on the bottom of the mini looks like mud. Using it on leather / skin makes it look tanned. Using it on anything makes it look dirtier.
* For dust, try taking a small drybrush, and applying a light sandy color in upwards motions from the bottom of the feet to around the knees (knees should get little to no paint). Maybe for KD, grey-ish dust would look better than sand-colored.
* Scuffing is easily emulated by applying a lighter, less saturated paint to an area where friction would occur (weapon grips, places where clothes would rub against one another, etc.)
* Long clothes, cloth pieces, etc. should get a brown-ish wash or dirt (like explained above) to the line where they might have dragged on the ground.
* Metal should have rust around corners / connections, and duller colors (e.g. Nuln oil if we're using GW paint names) for surfaces that aren't scrubbed / polished or scuffed. Making selected bits of the metal (e.g. a spear's tip, a plate's surface, a sword's edge) bright and shiny makes the rest look darker in comparison.
* Matting on fur objects is a bit harder to pull off, use image references.
* "Weather" the characters themselves with scars, scuff marks, and the like.
General rule of thumb - google image search for pictures of old things like what you're painting. Look for ones that LOOK old to you, then try to emulate what you see. Eventually you'll get a good sense of what works and what doesn't.
>>
>>46176639
forgot to mention one of my favorites, which is staining on cloth items:
> Basecoat
> Paint stains with brown / green / yellow / red color over basecoat (depending on what you want the stain to look like). The stain color should be darker than the original basecoat
> Continue layering and washing over the basecoat as normal.
> If your paints are thin enough, the stain would show, very slightly but noticeably, through the layers, making it look like the cloth once got dirty, but was washed and used since.

Is it just me, or is the dragon king campaign easier than watcher campaign? I'll grant that I've gotten kinda lucky with rolls, but it's so liberal with stat distribution, combined with half decent weapons... I've been killing Lvl2 lions and gorms as early as year four, and only had card based deaths (murder, for example)
>>
>>46180099
It's easier to get going but it you can't keep up with the pace and don't complete enough Constellations, it will fuck you up pretty bad by campaign end.
>>
>>46176528
Not sure if you know this already or not but you can use a pin vise to drill holes for magnetization. However, due to KD truescale, wrists are very difficult to work with. Those arms however, if you drilled at a bit of an angle, would actually work fairly well for magnetization. Good luck with the weapon swaps.

As for painting, nice color selections. Try posting it over at the WIP general for more advice than what you've been given by the other anon.

>>46177535

Poots, you sly dog.
>>
>>46176528
>but how would you outline the loincloth area? Would drybushing be better for that specific spot?

The opposite. Get a really fine brush, and draw a thin black line between the loincloth, and everything surrounding it. Paint should be quite thin here, you can even use a wash, since capillary forces will help pull it to where we want it.

Alternatively, slabber on a wash all over and it will by itself do this, though then you colour everything else with it to some degree too.

Some think it's best to start with a black base-coat, and then simply leave a thin strip of it in between everything.

Drybrushing uses relatively dry paint, and deposits it on the raised up part. So about as fundamentally different as it gets. Now highlighting (and shading) should also be in your future, drybrushing is one way to go about that, but as always you should have more than one tool in your toolbox if you want to do a good job. In general (few hard rules here) drybrushing works well for highlighting highly textured surfaces, and very poorly when it comes to smoother ones.
>>
>>46180341
>Some think it's best to start with a black base-coat, and then simply leave a thin strip of it in between everything.
I personally dislike this. IMO a basecoat in a dark tone of the final color looks better and less cartoony.
>>
>>46180099
Shouldn't you be training up more super survivors once your first set is strong enough?
>>
>>46180099
That's kinda the point isn't it? They're training you to be Gods so it makes sense that you would be more powerful early on.
>>
>>46181979
Yeah, theoretically. I have two constellations, and I have like 4 death machines, and i bring two to babysit less gifted newborns. I have hope to breed a race of murderhobos once i get the clan of death innovation, between huge stat buffs, iridescent hide and naturally born weapon arts and such. I know for a fact I'm super lucky, because I'm almost ready to build a blacksmith early, but the dragon abilities go so far to artificially improving tankiness that I basically skipped making leather and hide armor on most of my survivors...

As someone doing magnetization of his minis, let me say that you can magnetize the wrists, with some limitations.

You need to use very, very small magnets. 1mm x 1mm. They fit and they work fine, but their grip isn't strong enough to keep the weapon in place if you try to pick them up by the arm or shake the mini with any force. Its not uncommon for the hand to fall off if you set the mini on its side. Also, larger weapons like spears and such are too heavy for the magnet to keep from flopping around.

So what I am doing is only magnetizing 2 bodies (1 male and one female) out of each armor set. The other 2 get hard-set into specific, more dramatic forms with what I presume to be the more commonly built weapons. So the two handed weapons either get build into the glued minis, or get glued onto the end of shoulder-magnetized arms instead of getting a magnet connection at the wrist. My shoulder/head magnets are bigger and stronger, and can hold that weight most of the time.

Any arms, weapons and heads that don't end up getting glued to something get magnets for swapping around. That way much of the time we use hard minis, but we can customize a few survivors (or even all of them if we diversify armor sets and weapons) when the mood strikes us.

To be honest, I'm not too worried about the wrists, I can paint over them and pretend they are bracers or that dude has Arsenio Hall hands. Currently with the magnets I have, big weapons still fall but not as frequently as they would if it was a smaller magnet.

I'm also doing the same thing in regards to the minis, 2 magnetized minis from each set, and 2 hard glued.

Pic loosely related.

Been at work all day. No progress.

I am trying out different file hosts to see if that could help with the mod. Dropbox lets me host cards at the original scanned in resolution and update the files as needed without rehosting, but seems to download sluggishly, and has a bandwidth cap, so that isn't really an option.

Imgur is what I was using previously, but it compresses images if they are too large and makes them look like shit. I would have to rehost images entirely every time something is changed, which kinda sucks and makes it so people's saves wouldn't be compatible with future versions of the mod. For the same reason, it makes updating the mod a massive bitch.

I've heard some other mods use Google Drive or Cube Upload, which I will be looking into when I get out of work.

Still have a handful of cards I missed on my first pass and need to get around to scanning in. However I'm now building the mod in such a way that I can add in missing cards (or future expansions) without disturbing existing decks. This will also let me make "Update Packs" of any cards/tokens that are changed in an update, that people can import into their existing games and keep their old saves.

It is both of those things. There are some weird looking smooth parts that go under the leaf parts, and make sure to put the one separate root on before the trunk.
>>46171608
A lot of the parts aren't glued on, just dry-fitted. Which would be my second suggestion, don't glue the whole thing together before painting it. I glued most of the larger parts like the leaves together but didn't actually glue them to the main tree as that would make it hellish to paint.

Resins especially get scalped for around $75 each for survivor-sized. Some less, but you're looking for some really popular/hard to find ones like Lady and Slave. Storm Knight would be more. Satans and King would be more still.

If you really want those minis and aren't willing to wait for Lantern Festival for the King/Black Friday for possible re-releases, I guess 600 for the lot will be better than you could expect otherwise.

But that's a LOT of cash for the lot, more than Poots would charge (maybe twice as much?), and none of them are game pieces even if a few are the right scale on the right bases to be used as survivor figs.

I'm working on making a fan expansion/overhaul for the game. Currently planned things:
>More hybrid armor sets (about a dozen or so)
>2 or 3 new armor sets/weapons crafted from non-monster specific parts
Both of which allow you to use more expansions and hunt a larger variety of monsters, without gimping yourself gear-wise.
>overhaul of the Settlement Event system
It gets a lot of complaints right now, so I want to try to take a stab at making my own version. I'll probably scrap most of the existing cards, except Murder and Skull Eater (since so many things interact with them). But before I get too deep into it, I wanted to ask what people actually want out of the settlement event system? Also what other things do you think could be improved about the game while still keeping the same overall difficulty and theme?

Won't be adding new monsters, because that is a huge amount of work. Just patching up stuff that the game seems to lack at the moment.
>>
>>46200961
>I wanted to ask what people actually want out of the settlement event system?

If I lose a survivor at least give me a skull resource or some other bonus so that the event wasn't an enormous waste of time.
>>
>>46200961
Settlement events are too few on number and some will just screw you hardcore if they come up too early. I'd like to see settlement events become avaliable depending on milestones in the campaign. Something like the innovation deck, where landmarks add "consequences" to the settlement event deck. For instance Principle: Society might add Plague (Since you have enough people for a plague to spread and are probably numerous/advanced enough to survive it), or Nightmare Training add Triathlon of Death. Maybe you have to build a forth settlement location for the Merchant/Dentist to consider your settlement worth their time to visit. Some things might not happen until you've had a story event like Regal Visit. Elder Council? Probably after someone retires. The deck would start with some low impact cards about the environment/darkness and gradually add things about survivors, society, and the wider world as your settlement grows (or at least endures) enough to attract more "interesting" occurrences, supporting the narrative we half have of survivors going from hand to mouth hunters to something resembling a fledgling, tribal civilization.
>>
>>46200961
Maybe an innovation that would give you some power to look for specific events.
>>
>>46200961
>Won't be adding new monsters, because that is a huge amount of work.
It's actually probably the easiest thing to do considering you just pick some cards for AI and give the monster a life total instead of a HL deck.

Murder and skull eater could honestly be one event. Skull eater is mostly there so that you have to draw into Murder. It's a pretty shit event. I mean, they're all pretty meh but those two in particular are the laziest synergy I've ever seen.

>>46201024
This is the main problem with them asides from the shitty and poorly thought out "instant lose" mechanics they introduce. You should at least get your death principle on guys you lose or something.
>>
>>46201403
>You should at least get your death principle on guys you lose or something.
You already get it.
>>
>>46201201
I like this idea a lot. I think the same should happen with Hunt Events, but that would be a bit more difficult to sort out.

>>46200961
I think most of them should tie into your settlements principles more. Something more like White Secret and Taste of Death story events (or whatever they are called. The max level understanding and courage events), with none of the results being BAD, just biased based on how you build your settlement. I think that's also the best way to buff Survival of the Fittest without actually changing the card.

Less "Do you have this innovation? No? Well fuck you, all returning survivors die" and more "Do you have this innovation? Here is a temporary way to spend your endeavors for this phase only."

Add more cooking recipes.

>>46201024
Also this. Unavoidable death with no benefit is pretty bullshit. Hunt events doing it is one thing, since you are specifically sending out people knowing the risk they face (though even then it's frustrating). When it just triggers in the settlement phase with no benefit to you, and you don't even get to pick who it is who dies? Yeah fuck that.

Other than settlement events, are you making any changes to existing mechanics/cards?

Legendary Monsters or Challenge Scenario monster variants should be fairly easy, yes. I meant I won't be making any entirely from scratch.
>>
>>46201589
I'd actually like to see settlement events that are storylines, but not like skull eater / murder where it's added to the next year.

Instead, have like event A that unfolds, does some stuff, then, depending on success / failure / choices, add either event B or C to the events deck (and archive A). Like a quest chain of sort.

How about a settlement event where a group of other survivors stumble upon the Lantern Horde? The theme of it will be as an outlet for things or survivors no longer useful for you in return for potential rewards.

For example, you can spend an Endeavor and then trade away some Gear to the nomads. As long as you trade away at least one piece of gear, you get a roll on the table. For each extra thing you trade away at the same time, you roll an additional d10 and get a chance for higher results.

Potential rewards include them trading back resources, founding stones, population, certain innovations, and eventually rare gear/strange resources.

Maybe you can even nominate a survivor to leave the lantern horde and join their group for some kind of benefit.

They refuse to stay for too long, however, and leave at the end of the year.

Another way to do this is to have the same card, but multiple sections of it. Kind of like how the Twilight Knight checks first to see if you have the twilight sword, and if you already do proceeds to duel. Otherwise, he does the other thing.
>>
>>46202591
Not a settlement, but Old Master from Dung Beetle Knight basically does that.

Update on the mod progress. All expansions sorted. Found a dozen or so cards I need to rescan and add in.

Working on making deckboxes for each monster. Nemesis monsters are grey, quarries are black.

>>46200590
Plan to do so after I'm finished with the mod. Which will hopefully be by the end of the night.

I'd love to. Sadly, I did not make the models. I'm shit when it comes to modeling. It took me hours just to figure out how to make the Fairy Ring terrain tile.

Hmmm, do you think there has been at least person who played with one of their Bad Dragon toys, roleplaying out what happened to their self-insert survivor after the Dragon won in the showdown?

You can't hunt manhunter like a quarry?

I'm sure there will be.
>>
>>46213634
Nope. He's a nemesis monster that shows up starting year 5 iirc.
>>
>>46213634
>>46213751
He is a little weird actually, he shows up and you fight him in the Settlement Phase. Then continue with the Settlement Phase as normal. Or do all nemesis encounters do that and I've just been replacing the hunt with them.
>>
>>46213646
Ooh, that gives me another idea: strip Monster.

Whenever your Survivor takes damage to a body zone, you remove a piece of clothing from that area.
>>
>>46210511
Yep. Lots of cards. Pic related.

>>46213829
That is not typical, no. His encounters are special showdowns, which happen instantly, and no time passes. Lion Knight and Heart Flute do the same thing.

He is also weird in that he can't be chosen as a target for the Heart Flute. Same with Lonely Tree and Lion Knight.

>>46214053
Should probably limit it to severe injuries. Most people don't wear 5 pairs of gloves at once.
>>
>>46214053
So... naked Kingdom Death?
>>
>>46214559
Depending on how you hunt, probably.
>>
>>46214172
You can also trigger Special Showdowns with one of the Spidicules settlement events.
>>
said fuck it and bought the 5 disciples today off ebay
i'm pretty hype
>>
Hey TTS Anon, have you tried https://sli.mg as your image host for mods?
>>
Dear /KDMG/, my survivors and I are in a bit of a pickle, we recently got a bounty of resources from accidentally running into a Level 2 White Lion while trying to track down an antelope, and using some of those we managed to craft the Weapon Crafter.

But now we don't know if we should spend the decent chunk of resources it would take to auto-innovate Scrap Smelting, or if we should make some gear with those resources instead.
>>
>>46217448
Part of the fun is figuring it out, weigh the pros and cons as a group and come to your own decision.
>>
>>46217448
Get Zanbato asap. Scrap smelting isn't really worth it right off the bat, but you SHOULD grab a pick and start farming iron.
>>
>>46217448
I would ask yourselves this question: Do we have a surplus of scrap resources and an immediate need for iron?

If yes, innovate scrap smelting.

If no, make some bone pick axes with the resources to start collecting iron and spend the rest on useful gear.
>>
New to TTS. downloaded the latest mod from kdmtts.tumblr. It doesnt seem to load completely, freezing from 60-%80. Is there a seperate download for image scans? cause I don't see visuals for anything but the +/- stat coins on the loler left of the table.
>>
>>46218806
The mod from the tumblr is dead.

Try the ones on the workshop for now til TTS Anon finishes his work.

Aw yeah oyumaru
>>
>>46213829
All nemesis encounters happen during the settlement phase, after your survivors return and draw a settlement event card, but before you're allowed to craft/innovate. After the nemesis showdown you continue with the settlement phase as normal.
>>
>>46219258
Do you still get to hunt a normal monster the same year you do a nemesis showdown?
>>
>>46219393
If its a 'Special Showdown', yes. If its just a nemesis encounter, you skip the hunt phase, and the showdown is against the nemesis that year.

>>46219258
No, thats just when it decides that you will fight a nemesis. The actual encounter happens after you chose departing survivors, which is after crafting/innovating.
>>
>>46219490
>nemesis encounters are just normal encounters
>the monster just sits outside the settlement waiting patiently and giving you time to get ready
How about you just stick to getting us our scans and stay fucking quite otherwise

Every time you open your mouth you say something so unbelievably stupid that I think there is no way you could be more wrong and then you open your mouth again and prove me wrong
