I have questions for people who are good at deckbuilding, in Elves
Is 2 basics correct?
Since it is woeful to draw Shaman of the Pack, is 2 the correct number?
Is it ok to go 4 Chord and 3 collected company?
Is fauna Shaman good?

Took the foil deck out for it's maiden pillage tonight.

There were some EDH players who I knew were going to be there, managed to trade off my dual lands for some foil Cavern of Souls to complete it.

All in all I was happy with foiling it out. It definitely had a bit of a tilt factor when people saw that everything I was playing and siding was casting a bit of a glare. Only gripe is that KMC HyperMAT premium (with the matte clear side) made cards really dull, so I re-sleeved back to regular HyperMATs.

You can run more basics than that even. No, you should run all four, and ~10 black sources. Never cut a CoCo, it's the best card in the deck, if you want all 4 chords cut a land or a visionary. Finally, Fauna Shaman is mostly for combo elves since it lets you pitch an emrakul for an elf or regal force.

>foil
I did it because I don't have a desire to maintain another deck, so why not pimp the deck I like. I don't cube, and EDH is neat but my local area is full of Tabernacle/Crypt/Cradle/5-color 10-ABU duals players. Plus I'm playing Fish, so it's just swapping out 12-16 cards to make it good in Legacy.

>tilt
Some people wrongly :^) assume that if people have foils, they are really good with said deck. Obviously, it doesn't matter, but it's just a small psychological thing. Generally with the people who go "woah, is your deck all foil"? I doubt it would do anything beyond FNM.

Anyone having success with Delirium? I can't seem to achieve it quick enough because of the "your graveyard" restriction.

I tried Traverse the Ulvenwald but it forces me to play a lot of noncreature spells to hit Delirium, which then doesn't give much space for the creatures. And there's nothing really worth tutoring except Tarmogoyf in such a deck. Abzan Company and Kiki Chord are better toolbox decks and Traverse Sultai (basically BGx with blue for Thought Scour and Serum Visions and Traverse the Ulvenwald) feels like a bad BGx deck. Maybe Traverse Sultai isn't the right shell for it, but everything else sees Traverse as a basic land tutor for too long.

FNM meta yesterday was bizarre. 4 Jund, 6 heavy control builds (mostly esper), 1 eldrazi, 1 Lantern, and a few brews. Basically, mostly jund and esper control. It was the most fun I've had in modern in a while, but it was still weird as hell.

I've found topper orbs to be a much better option for dealing with Abzan Coco. 90% of the combo is enter the battlefield effects, and almost all of their ways to deal with things are also enter the battlefield effects.
Toper Orbs also just help against a lot more thing like for example, amulet bloom (minus the bloom now), snap casters, and ect.
I'd really only run Rain of Gore if my LGS had a lot of soul sisters and Abzan Coco in it.
>>
>>46114559
Oh, I'm dumb. Toper orbs don't really help agaisnt amulet of vigor bull shit. It at most, makes their Titans worse. My bad.

I'm brewing a Pyrexian Surge Pact deck right now. I'm probably going to make it RUB, or UB. The whole gimic is you have Demonic Pact for stupid value, Surge spells, and the 1 mana Phyrexian mana spells you can cast for 2 health to play for free so you can surge easily. The dream is Pact till going to lose, surge Crush of Tentacles, then Gut shot + Overwhelming Denial to control board. I'm not sure on the creature base yet though.

I currently am running a jank boggles deck that only has 3 razorverge thickets, 1 g/w fetch, and a dryad arbor for the land base. I have the rest of the main deck minus the keen senses, because apparently no one has any.
Main deck is top, sideboard is bottom.
>>
>>46114872

New Jace may not be as good as flip Jace, but that ult alongside Curse of Exhaustion means opponents can't cast any spells. TITI is a good defender early game and when flipped can clear the board. Topplegeist is also good, since even if there are creatures out, they'll be permatapped

Thoughts on this idea for a deck? Deck tries to win by either getting titan pact + titan pact + angel's grace on turn 1, titan pact + snapcaster + angel's grace on turn 2, or by the traditional hivemind combo. The other pacts are there to support titan pact turns in order to make those turns have larger tempo swings or to combo with hivemind.
>>
>>46117733
How does 2 titan pacts win you the game?

I too can't stand the faggots who get visibly upset when you spend more than 10 seconds thinking on your turn, or are incapable of accepting defeat without telling you how your deck is cheap and takes no skill. Though I didn't play in an actual legacy tournament with prizes and shit so it's entirely possible that these kinds of people show up there too.
>>
>>46119657
legacy takes too much money for kids to join in. And the ones that are spoiled can't play for shit because it actually takes complex decision and knowledge of more than the 3 dominant decks.

what did you play?
>>
>>46119872
Fucking legacy fags

It's more advanced than modern but it really isn't that difficult
>>
>>46119559
The longer you wait the more 4/4s you get. You can get three to four 4/4s by turn 3 or 4 as well as a snapcaster; the deck has a lot of draw making it consistent.
>>
>>46120033
>get three to four 4/4s by turn 3 or 4
So can other decks without building around this gimmick.
>>
>>46119872

Burn since it was fairly similar to Modern's which I had already played. Played against Dredge, Storm and Show & Tell to learn how they work. Not very decision-heavy when not playing against Dredge without a Graftdigger's Cage in hand, against the others it's drop Eidolon and wait. Still fun games, I might get the chains, fireblasts and price of progresses since it's really all I need to finish.

4 swiftspear
4 signal pest
4 flinthoof boar
4 burning tree emissary
4 recless bushwhacker
2 Goblin bushwhacker
2 ghor clan rampager

>>
>>46120382
All you need is a single angel's grace for those effects to work and the deck has a lot of ways to draw, atleast the version without hive mind does. You don't even need the cast the angel's grace the turn you use all of the pacts.

actually until modern people started coming in and netdecking to shit, people played a huge number of diverse decks. This is kind of going away now though, which makes me very sad because "That's not a tier 1 deck bro".

Obviously you don't use all of them, but in the past here have been decks running shit you haven't even heard about and you would run into them in a tournament and be surprised.

stop being such an aggressive piece of shit, what are you 12?
>>
>>46122270

What does tg think of this zoo list. Goal is go fast and wide. Is it worth playing or should I just stick to burn?
4 Kird Ape
4 Loam Lion
4 Goblin guide
4 Signal Pest
4 Wild Nacatl
4 Burning Tree Emissary
4 Reckless Bushwhacker
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Atarkas Command
2 Path to Exile
2 Boros Charm
1 Kytheon

4 Windswept Heath
4 Wooded Foothills
3 Stomping Grounds
2 Temple Garden
2 Sacred Foundry
2 Forest
1 Plains
1 Mountain
>>
>>46122536
But it is super limited in when you get to draw, people rarely have 0 cards in hand unless you are playing against a hyper aggro deck and if you play this guy against that kind of deck you lose.

not him. Counterspell decks are fine, but there is a difference between that and miracles. Legacy has gone to shit after miracles became popular (due to modern people switching to legacy). It makes fun and interesting decks that would otherwise appear just no happen because, fuck you that's why. Not to mention everybody plays that and they think they are the shit.

Thankfully dredge is coming back now and maybe we can get rid of some of the retards that play miracles. Although a counterbalance ban would be nice.
>>
>>46123274
You should explain why it is. Being both instant speed and costing 0 mana allows you to cast spells on your turn and also react to what your opponent is doing; either countering an important spell, getting valuable blocks, destroying an important creature, etc. Its not a strictly worse goyf as you are suggesting, and you really should explain why its so bad beyond calling it bad.

>>46124591
You don't play pact of the titan when you only have the ability to cast one, you play it with at minimum two and more if it is later in the game, if you cast one of those with snapcaster mage you negate the disadvantage you get by casting angel's grace. Because of this, the card disadvantage you get with pact of negation is actually not as bad as the disadvantage you get from playing force of will; of course this only applies to your combo turn.

I've been brewing a Junk list that forgoes lilly/goyf and goes big with resto, finks, ewit, rhino, and Thragtusk. along with a grisly salvage and rites package .One of Grave titan is a curve topper. I don't know if its good, but it sure is fun to play.

Current build looks something like.
4 Grisly Salvage
3 Abrupt Decay
1 Murderous Cut
2 Eternal Witness
3 Siege Rhino
4 Kitchen Finks
4 Birds of Paradise
1 Tasigur, the Golden Fang
1 Grave Titan
2 Thragtusk
2 Restoration Angel
4 Thoughtseize
2 Unburial Rites
2 Lingering Souls
2 Path to Exile

4 Windswept Heath
4 Verdant Catacombs
2 Godless Shrine
2 Temple Garden
2 Overgrown Tomb
2 Plains
2 Swamp
3 Forest
1 Gavony Township
1 Vault of the Archangel

Went 3-1 tonight at SNM.

2-0 against Kiki Chord. RiP against Voice, Runed Halo on Resto, a Wrath, GG. G2 he sided in Sages, but it wasn't enough to stop the engine.

2-0 against Creature Toolbox. Mainboard RiP put in work. Forced to blow removal on Suppression Field but unable to combo off. Wrath/Heliod for match, both games.

2-0 against UW Eldrazi. Surprisingly good matchup. Ghostly Prison is amazing against Eye. Landed 3 Prisons G1, blew out with Sigil.
G2: Let him fetch after resolving Field as a courtesy. He stabilized with a Worship but couldn't deal with my board presence (10+ angels and 30+ clerics). Eventually Nykthos and 2 Mesas combo'd off and he scooped.

0-2 against UW Control. Game 1 landed RiP and Prison but couldn't draw a Field to slow Myth Realized. Game 2 ate 3 Cryptics and a Mana Leak. Couldn't land more than 2 spells and got beaten down by Myth, Snapcaster and Colonnade. Was happy to lose first to another anti-meta white deck.

Because if you don't happen to nut draw, you lose before you can even get anything online.

In addition to that, if he happens to deal with the few cards that you can actually curve into, you have functionally no way of winning the game through the grind.

Not to mention you'll likely be too far behind against hyper aggro by the time you can even manage to Wrath. You can't grind efficiently, and can't gas back up if you're dealt with.

Both games were nut draws. I even topdecked Nykthos game 2 exactly when I needed it.

Eye can't produce mana without Urborg. You can play all the creatures you want, but without the mana to pay for Prison it's all for naught.
>You can't grind efficiently, and can't gas back up if you're dealt with.
He needs to choose which targets to deal with. If he pops Sigil he slows me down, but still can't attack. If he pops Prison I still have my board presence. If he doesn't pop Field he can't use Eye to search and loses turns to fetch.

So why did you say you had a "surprisingly good matchup" when you acknowledge that you had 2 nut draws? You are aware his nut Draw shits on yours and all in all control decks aren't good against aggro, which Eldrazi does better than any other deck has done before in modern.
