Wow the ghostbusters jumpchain is really bad. Awful formatting, inconsistent capitalization, bad grammar/punctuation, unbalanced origins, no real sense of order for perks, and the absolute worst drawback selection.

Sorry, I just really had to vent.

Fairly simple actually. Tie up various loose threads then settle down, probably in my home universe. Advance science ahead a few decades, (yay fusion power! Yay panacea!) and find a nice out of the way valley to build a house/bunker/command center/underground air and naval base. And then find a nice quiet universe to throw the biggest wedding ever. Of all time. Everybody who's important is invited.

>>46098961
Go around a lot of previous Jumps, getting things I wasn't able to keep when transitioning. Then terraform Mars and make it into my own kingdom populated by (at first) a vast droid army, then later by people from other Jumps and possibly even Terrans.
>>
>>46099364
Oldwalkers drop all pretense of "I can do whatever I want" considering they effectively have infinite respawns and can shape magic that affect entire planes with an effort of will.
>>
So since Megacorp has shown in the SB thread he utterly gives no shits about jump ownership or propriety does that mean I can start rewriting his dreck? I mean an Underworld jump where it's not got the majority of perks bound to their respective origins would be great, as would a GI Joe one that is actually coherent and lacks a spelling or grammar mistake every third sentence. Because declaring you give no shits about respecting the claims of other jumpmakers is effectively saying you don't care about yours either, and they're therefore up for adoption for anyone who want them.

Hello everyone! I have with me the latest update to the Generic Children's Television jump, now featuring companions! Now, this is not the final version: Ignoring the fact that I'll need to place notes in order to clarify certain things, like paint magic, as well as some 50cp items, I am also considering a fifth background, an expy of The Power of Belief archetype from those shows. Would that be something you all want to see? Let me know!

>>46098961
While the Empire is redistributing itself between the worlds, I'll probably set up beacons for it in the worlds before I started it, excluding certain worlds, and then retire to manage the new universe I just made, only showing up to appoint new rulers. I'll probably do my best to meet my friends I made every once in a while, but after more than a thousand Jumps, I imagine I'll just want some rest.
>>46099546
Sweet, I'll make a build if you are finished.
>>
>>46099596
That's what I wanted to know: Aside from a few items and notes, would you like me to add on the additional background? I can do the first two in a few minutes, easy, but the latter might take an hour or two.
>>
>>46099652
I'm not the best person to ask, given that I was planning to go Mr. Rogers from the start.
>>
>>46099469
Look if you are displeased with the GI Joe jump or Underworld jump make your own. Don't take other peoples work and alter it.
I know people get upset about having multiple versions of jumps for the same universe however it's a better alternative than modifying other peoples stuff. Also for those who really want to visit a world but think a jump absolutely garbage; it's a better alternative than skipping a cool world because you didn't like the jump. Just make sure the words, the perks and the Ideas are your own. Make sure they are true to the world the jump is made for.
To thine own heart be true.

Things didn't go off to a great start. Rudely awakened and force to fight in the arena. All I know was the pit master was an ugly Orc. I did figure things out that somehow I ended up in TES-verse, and in Cyrodil. That's cool, I guess; however I have the problem of being tied to the arena. I was "lucky" enough to be set up for a year's worth of fights. This would allow me to get my feet wet or so the walking beat said.

It wasn't pretty, I mean I was up against magic for pretty much the first time. Like the magic I faced before were pretty limited and weren't easily available like it is here. I learn to cope, after all it requires concentration. They can't exactly do that with arrows and later on I dabbled in alchemy, so exploding arrows and poison arrows. I eventually became Arena Champion, and it was glorious. I just had to show up once a year after that to defend my title.

During my time here of course the shit that went down in Morrowind. Then the Oblivion Crisis happened. It was pretty crazy, with gates to a literal hell popping up. As well the assassination of the Empire, and all that. I did join up with the Dark Brotherhood because they had great alchemy teachers.

All good journeys have to come to an end, but it was pretty fun but challenging here. You never knew what to expect, well I didn't because every challenge in the arena was unique. Even my yearly matches to secure my title was pretty unique. I just hope my next trip is as eventful as this one.

I think we just proved I was talking about the latter.
>>
>>46099735
No, but he threw his lot in with Adarx towards the end of the discussion before it got moved to PMs. He might have had a change of heart but I sincerely doubt it, and he's the type to cling to an argument as hard as possible because he is the sole enlightened jumper.
>>46099881
Ah, so you're saying he didn't go as I outlined?>>46099498
Same thread that Merc linked. Ten or so pages later, don't feel like going through the thread, and if you just read the posts of the people involved in the argument it shows what I'm talking about. His link was to first post of that, https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/general-cyoa-thread.315809/page-670 I guess Antumbra is Miros going by the list he laid out.

It's not allowed on the drive regardless, no matter your flowery speech.
>>
>>46099900
I'm sure he'll teach some...interesting things to teach. And given the limits of the perk, that's ALL he will be doing.
>>46099952
Oh, thank you! Don't feel inadequate though, you're doing the very best job you can do, and that's all anyone should ask of you! Anyhow, I don't think I'll do it for now, but perks would probably be like turning grenades into bubbles or guns into flowers, limited teleportation, basically the kind of stuff fairies or the Care Bears could do.
>>
>>46100069
Training up basic Elemental to Advanced is entirely possibly simply through time, effort, and Enhanced Mastery too, right? No need to throw yourself into another dimension?
>>
>>46100121
>I. Look, I just come here for the jumps so I dunno about the rest of you but I'd rather not waste posts on petty bullshit from some other site when I could be filtering and hiding so.

Yeah I'm sorry about that, its really been a mess as of late in regards to a few things
>>
>>46100136
of course, he'll be teaching kids about how to get rid of your enemies, teaching them about the law because he's a lawyer, and all about philosophy and the nature of man, as well as knife safety

i think it would be hilarious to have him around and thats why im bringing him in
>>
>>46100132
Which is why I'm trying for a go ahead on his shit over rampant philosophizing, intentionally making them crap so people will get annoyed and want to replace them, and generally viewing the thread as a place to evangelize about how we're terrible shortsighted dumbasses who need his guidance. Has he ever admitted to being in the wrong on anything instead of just going away when shit goes down? He's a prime representative of how cancerous SB gets at times.
>>
>>46100201
He'll also teach them about how to create your own human cat hybrids so.

There's that.
>>
>>46100201
Oh! Well that's perfectly fine, though the 'getting rid of your enemies' thing and 'knife safety' is rather suspicious... I agree though, Dio giving kids advice would be hysterical. Good job, Anon!
>>
>>46100069
hey if I steal the book of names will it continue to update after the jump? As in give me the true names of people from other universes?
>>
>>46100121
Hmm, let's see..there are vampires, ghosts, trolls, a dragon showed up once, but that was extremely surprising for everyone, goblins are a thing that apparently eat babies and gold, a demon apparently showed up in a short story I haven't read. Zombies are also a thing. Remnants are evil ghost things that possess people and worship Darquesse. Werewolves are technically extinct, but if someone with the right genetics gets magic, then can become one.

I'm sure I forgot something.

>>46100177
Yep. You can eventually get there own your own. Throwing yourself into a dimension filled with insane evil gods may speed the process up a little, though.
>>
>>46100062
Most of what I said in thread was simply warning Merchant he doesn't have the type of control to bring it up over here and not expect shit to go out of control.

You are making my point for me.
>>
>>46100307
Nah. Only people in Skulduggery have that style of True Names. It may update with a list of Given and Taken names. Unless they weren't in the book? Pretty sure it does have those, too.
>>
>>46100236
>He's a prime representative of how cancerous SB gets at times.
While on balance I agree with you, there are some solid folk who post on both sites who have given us really fun material. Not only that, but we've got enough of our own internal drama that we don't need to borrow from another completely separate group of assholes.

Do they stir shit up here sometimes?

Yes.

But there's no real good way to address that and, as said, we've got some good folk and good jumps as part of that package deal.

If you want to police that community, go over to that community. As for me, I'd rather we just stop addressing them.

Due to past experience and common sense, remaking another creators jump is by and large verboten. Outside of the usual exemptions for anything involving Tera. You don't like a jump someone else made for a particular IP? Should have made it yourself and sooner.

tl;dr - SB gonna SB, we teeg.

>>46100266
Yeah, but not the good kind, and that's bad.

Are there any perks that would make you awesome at giving head pats?

I'd settle for anything that aids in physical affection in general such as hugs and holding hands.
>>
>>46100432
Well, theoretically, any of the perks that make YOU fluffy would increase your hug power significantly.
>>
>>46100367
>Do they stir shit up here sometimes?

No. Conversation in the SB thread does not equal starting shit up over here. >>46099469

Merchant can go there and never come back as far as I'm concerned.

>Well not exactly. We have jumps already hosted here anyway. So if Adarx really wants to make it that much he can always just link it here, and hell it probably will be used even if not spoken about. Lots of people on the thread want more separation between what other sites do and the main thread anyway. Not that I really agree with the sentiment but there are plenty of people who wouldn't care what he does if it isn't on the drive.

Don't lie about it I fully said Adarx can host it on SB and leave this thread alone.

I don't know. I can't answer that for you. Maybe. Also apparently they were talking about some dank /k/ meme after all so this is all moot.

Servants have to have some human blood. Like Gil is 1/3 human. Except if it's Extra in which case gods can be used to.

As for Sleipnir, unless Sleipnir in fate is a person, he's not applicable because he's a magic horse. Not a hero.

The Land of Make-Believe: The fantasy world. Children love those.

Variety: I can do whatever I want, and the show is about me. Wonderful. *sarcasm*

Seriously though, will have to be careful.

That makes me feel…(400cp): I can... Teach emotions to others? Gimme!
I’d like you to meet a friend… : That's sweet. Also, "peaceful purposes" does encompass a whole lot of things...
Look for the Helpers(100cp): I... I want to have this for real. And use this on myself. All the time.
The World according to Jumper(200cp): I am here to help. And I have a plan.
Hello Neighbor!(300cp): And another mind perk, just like I love them.
This is your world(100cp): Believe in me who believes in you. Now let's wow everyone.
It’s life. It’s interesting. It’s fun(400cp): Inspiration. I swear, I have too many muse perks by now.
Learning is fun!(100cp): You WILL learn my wisdom. This is non-negotiable. But, you WILL love it. Then again, that's also mandatory... Hm.

Pleasant House: What does that say about a person when feeling at home is depressing?
Powerful Palette(200cp): ALL the colours? You know not what you unleash.

Capitalism, ho!(200): Hey, that's a pretty nice challenge.
Lifetime Achievement Award(600): This is beautiful. Now, to figure out how to make my program world-wide fast... Because I am not settling for one child. No one can't change the world. But I can steal and shape its future.

Thank you for this tiny sliver of happiness.

My tablet is having network issues so stuck on phone. Which frankly is shit for 4chan, so I can't post further for now and this post will likely be wildly out of date, my apologies, I will do my best to not make a habit of this. As for Mega, the only thing I have to say is there's still be nobody from here starting shit on SB, except the two who I already mentioned and specifically sent the call out for, as I've stated repeatedly that was the full intent of those actions.

Annoyed anon, sorry about his attention coming back here again. I try to avoid being the harbinger of this sort of thing. Mostly though I just keep track of both threads and try to avert shit going overboard, mostly by ensuring the jumps from SB don't make huge fuckups like the ones in the WIP folder. Brought the argument up in thread mainly to get Babylon and Miros' attention and make sure everyone knew what was going on.
>>
>>46101114
Actually, so far even the 'worst' actions have all been harmless villainy. Even ASA is just being realistic with his lessons, and even bringing in guests to argue the other side, for idealism and optimism.

>>
>>46101228
It's things like this that make me think ASA errs more on the side of saturday cartoon villainy than Newgrounds villainy.

Then again, he could of course just be savvy enough to know what happens to edgelords sooner or later and patient enough to lull everyone into a false sense of security.
>>
>>46101074

>>
>>46101276
Huh-Oh! That's right, I forgot about that. To answer your question, there WAS originally going to be a Power of Belief background, but no one really wanted it(Or at least, they didn't SAY they wanted it.) and so I decided not to add it in. I placed that there to remind me, but I must have forgotten to remove it.
>>
>>46101074
so i just looked over darksiders do you get the additional powers if darksiders is your end jump or whenever you complete any end jump
>>
>>46101332
And then the orbital laser will cure cancer and every other medical condition so hard it'll make people never have to eat or drink for the rest of their natural lifespans.

And then on the last HOUR of the last day, the moon will start glitching out, and turn out to have been an artificial moon he replaced the real moon with while stowing the real moon in another dimension. And the moon starts deploying creepy giant drones.

It's just a neverending labyrinth of second guessing with that guy.
>>
>>46101331
>What the hell have I been doing that is so wrong!?

Pretty much every plan that you've ever presented to the thread has had a gigantic hole in it. Combine that with a tendency to suppress or ignore your memories of past failures and you've got someone who makes constant mistakes and refuses to learn from them.

I don't think you're malicious. I think you're evil in the same way that a tsunami that destroys a country is or HIV is, that is to say in the sense of the term employed by consequential schools of ethics.

>>
>>46101331
Your jumper is more or less the Punisher half the time, but with horrific punishments alongside the murder and a thorough lack of research on your targets? I mean, I'm fine with the goal being major paradigm shifts for how worlds function, but they're completely disconnected from concepts like fairness, culture, circumstance, or grand consequences of small actions and small consequences of grand actions.

I mean, it's a bizarrely entertaining sort of lunacy, but it's sheer lunacy.
>>
>>46101480
The point is not only that the colalteral damage you create while trying to do whatever outweighs not only whatever benefit you aim to achieve, but your incompetence sabotages your own efforts because you're too stupid to realise even when you actually get something working that what you're trying to do for people is something no sane person would want.

See: The Warpwyld.

Wasn't this explained to you several times?
>>
>>46101477
Speaking of companions and Mr. Rogers, you can take him as a companion if you want.
>>
>>46101480
And here we fall into the crux of things.
They say that necessity is the mother of invention. I disagree.
Suffering is the mother of advancement. Literally everything about humans came about through suffering. And removing that would lead to stagnation and eventually collapse of civilization.
>>
>>46101478
thanks i took Darksiders as my 34th jump and didnt want to have to revise anything
>>
>>46101493
As often as I can manage, to reduce the amount of suffering on myself. Probably boring as fuck to others, but I've never felt the need to load up on drawbacks. Hell, I'll actually discard a perk or two most times if it means being able to cut down on amount of drawbacks taken.

Most jumps I just don't take drawbacks at all.
>>
>>46101493
It depends on the drawbacks themselves, there are certain "types" of drawbacks I shy away from.

I don't take Drawbacks that directly fuck with my brain or personality except in incredibly minor ways like "You're a pervert now" or "you're an alcoholic"

I don't take "Evil Clone" drawbacks

I shy away from drawbacks that directly effect how people in-general think of me.

A couple other things.
>>
>>46101493
Yes, quite often. A goal of my current chain is to take as few drawbacks as possible, and the ones I do take should either be things I was going to do anyway, things that I think I can handle with little to no difficulty, or interesting story hooks. The reasoning being that there are enough jumps available that I don't really need drawback points to become powerful, and that jumping isn't worth it if I'm just going to be suffering the whole time.
>>
>>46101493
very few early on unless they're not that inconvenient later on after sufficient power has been gained i start taking more

BOO YAH! That's how it's done! It would seem that I've landed in a great setting. Which seems to have gone a bit wrong, after the invasion I donned on my costume. Too bad it looked bad, like real bad but hey, it's colorful. However Agent Coulson died, and I somehow owed Rocket Raccoon for something.

I made a deal, I would work for Rocket and he would get me off of Earth. He does seem to get majorly annoyed with me at times, but I made up for it by kicking ass. However after I learned how to operate his ship, I stole it. Which lead me to being hounded by Rocket, & I eventually returned to Earth to throw him off.

I returned to a different place. Hydra was successful in eliminating a lot of the Eastern Seaboard. However they were still defeated, but with a lot of deaths. InHumans were also captured and weaponized, so the Earth I returned to was a warzone. Who knew that without Coulson, Hydra would be able to continue it's goals the way it has? After spending a decade trying to dodge Rocket, helping out Earth as much I can by joining the Avengers.

Before I left however I did steal Captain's Vibranium shield. I knocked him out with sleeping gas arrow. I made sure that it was a super strong dose, so that it would knock him out. Then I just stole his shield & threw it in my warehouse. It was pretty interesting & harrowing times. I just hope my next trip is as eventful as this one.

Budget Burden [+100] I don't really need money... My salary can fund the show.
It sucks to be Jumper [+200] Help more people!
The Jumper’s Testimony [+300] I tried my best for these years. I'm also incredibly charismatic and good at building cases, so... that's a thing.

This jump is just great. Really Great.

I'll have the most ridiculous people guest starring every episode...

>My long-term goal is to minimize if not eliminate suffering

Yes but your goals don't really matter to consequentialists if you're absolutely incapable of the nuances of thought required to make them a reality. There's no pat on the back or A for effort reality will give you for trying your best. You've never presented a plan that's actually really made anything better and you've presented several that result in people dying en masse.
>>
>>46101493
i only take drawbacks i can use to make an interesting or funny story or stuff i think i can deal with. i deal with horrible brain stuff every day, so i think i can deal with drawbacks that fuck with my head.

although i steer clear of shit that would just not make things fun for me or that would make everyone hate me
>>
>>46101557
Huh, I do basically the exact opposite, I've taken perks I'm only mildly interested in to use up extra points, it's the struggle in dealing with the drawbacks that make a lot of the jumps enjoyable for me.
>>46101567
Fair enough, I won't touch amnesia drawbacks or ones where I have to get my powers back from someone else
>>46101578
That's exactly what I'm talking about with the story hooks, but for a lot of the jumps having outside knowledge of the jump can trivialize many of it's threats, the drawbacks can offset that
>>
>>46101493
All the time. A chunk of my builds are just 1000 point builds with drawbacks tacked on to get my companions in. I also don't take on more drawbacks than I can handle, not just practically, but emotionally. I'm kind of sensitive, and some drawbacks would just really fuck me up.
>>
>>46101609
First off, glad to see you like it! Secondly, after the jump, you can summon them for longer, but still under circumstances that could and would be shown on (in this case) Mr. Rogers' show.
>>
>>46101493
I never take amnesia drawbacks or drawbacks that would seriously screw with my plans for the jump...

But aside from that, I almost always load up. I just can't resist the shiny perks.

Sometimes I still don't end up going for full, either because they're too bad, or because the perk I'd be able to get isn't worth it.
>>
>>46101627
not even retooling the virus bombs from the LoT into body cop nanomachine distribution systems to end disease and parasites? Or bootstrapping Everyone I can to post scarcity Star Trek style?
>>
>>46100388
Right, so quick question regarding the magic paint...thing.

Hypothetically speaking, could I draw a weapon, say a gun, and have it turn to paint when used? Or is it a case of being physically impossible to paint something like that?
>>
>>46101726
That depends on why you're painting it: If you're making it to show a child that it's dangerous, or in the absolute worst case scenario, showing someone how to use it in self-defense, it would be the former. If you're using it to make an actual weapon, even if it's for self-defense, then it's the latter, it simply won't work.
>>
>>46101795
Awwww, I wanted to replace the Ultramarine's bolsters with paintball guns.
Very well.
>>
>>46101816
Bolters rather.
>>
>>46101690
Thanks. Bit less versatile than hoped (don't think I'll get away with summoning my norse drinking buddies), but that still leaves a ridiculous potential.

Think of the things I could learn... Maybe Scion would be willing to give me some science lessons, and Merlin or Odin or someone for some magic lessons?

Hm, propably couldn't get a martial arts tutor, bit too violent.

...Could I summon Mr Rogers for advise?
>>
>>46101816
Well now that's different. You can use paint magic to make paintball guns, as they're not weapons, but all they would do is(Like the car) change the color of clothing you wear or work like in Splatoon.
>>46101853
Actually, yes. "I'd like you to meet a friend" can summon guest stars from all over as long as you've either been in the jump or are in it, and you can also take him as a companion.
>>
>>46101924
The guest stars don't automatically do what you summon them for though right? You can't use it to just summon Darkseid or whatever and have him teach you everything he knows?
>>
>>46100388
What is "Power of Belief:" for at the end of the backgrounds?
Have a build:

Total CP: 1200

Perks:
This is Your World (free)
Gotta Find Him A Friend (100/1100)
It's Life, It's Interesting, It's Fun (200/900)
You Too Can Paint Almighty Pictures (300/600)
Infinite Puppet Works (100/500)
I'd like you to meet a friend (100/400)

Items:
Wand of Life, Unlimited Candy, Comfy Chair (150/250)
The Studio (free)
Powerful Palette (100/150)
Magic Paintbrush (150/0)

By day, teaching kids how to paint in octarine, irrigo, cosmogone and more with a bunch of muppets, fairies and other exotic creatures. I don't think I can pull off a 'fro, so I think each show I'll exhibit a single otherworldly feature as a gimmick for the kids to "spot" by the end of each episode.
By night, I'm treating PTSD and depression with art therapy classes.
I think we can probably do some good here.

Picking and choosing which posts you reply to in order to minimise how wrong you have to admit yourself to be doesn't help your case y'know.

It's not that he's incompetent at being good and him being sadistic.

It's that he's like good old Grandpa Nurgle. He truly thinks that what he is doing is good. >>46101480 (I did not comprehend how literal that is until about a minute ago)
>>
>>46101951
Yep. As stated above, who they are and what they teach would have to be someone/something that Mr. Rogers or whatever background you choose's inspiration would show. Plus, think of them like guest stars on a show: They teach either one important lesson or several smaller lessons. So Merlin could teach you how to channel your magic more efficiently or how to perform a few minor but useful spells you don't know yet.
>>46101993
Yeah, Power of Belief is a typo, I'll post the updated jump now. I'm glad you like it!
>>
>>46102072
Do guest stars count towards the companion limit?
>>
>>46102185
Not quite. Think of it like this: You and your companions are the cast of the show. You can call in characters from the jump you're in or from jumps you've visited as guest stars, who will teach either one important lesson, or a few smaller ones, then go back. So, for example, let's say you've been to the JoJo jump, and you met and befriended Jonathan Joestar. You could summon him to either teach the children how to be kind and forgiving, even when faced with great pain and sorrow, or some tips on how to be a proper gentlemen/lady.
>>
>>46102185
Did you read the posts linked to you in >>46101998? I think one of the reasons you're despised is you tend to clam up when people actually make solid points against your Jumper's overall philosophy and pretend there's nothing wrong beyond what you've already addressed.
>>
>>46102284
I do not respond to unconstructive criticism, I already know I screw shit up, tell me how not to and I will do my best to incorporate that feedback
>>
>>46102341
No you don't. You say something stupid and them get roasted for it. Then you prrrrroooommise that you will learn. But you don't and then proceed to stay something else stupid a few weeks later.

But at least you finally learned how to calibrate your speech to text, so...it's something?
>>
>>46102454

He said last thread that his speech to text is broken.

>>46102341

Just drop it now bancho

Nothing so conspiratorial Red. My "evil" plan is simple to show that when the guy does make a better jump for underworld or whatever and they exist side by side it would prove the point. That letting others make jumps in the same setting is a viable tool and can make things better. And I suspect this is what you fear the most and not the idea I am going to go cartel Blanche on other's jumps.
>>
>>46099546
I'd still to see it. You get my thought about a possible power last thread? Something that lets you solve real world problems allegorically the way Wishbone does?

Also, anything regarding Reading Rainbow would be appreciated.
>>
>>46102583
Dude, you're really, really not helping you case here. This argument's been had a long time ago, and you're not going to change the mind of an entire community with that attitude.

Look, as others have said-nobody cares what you do on SB as long as you don't bother us here.
>>
>>46101300

Who wants to learn about the War Economy?

>>46102617
Oh dear. Erm, I suppose I still could place the background in there, it's just...I don't know HOW to fit it in. Everything else sort of...fits a certain archetype. I'm not exactly sure how to fit it in, and even if I do, I'll have to consider adding a price to it. I'll think about it Anon, but I'm leaning towards keeping things as they are for now. Sorry.

Definitely. Though I reserve the right to buy parts of the puppet tree to demonstrate how to spot dangerous xenos.

But, anon, it won't be dangerous and if they get hurt then by the power of their faith I shall make them well.

Trust me, I'm a professional.

You mean despite this is actually the second time you've been proven wrong on that fact? That I did in fact kept it to the thread and someone else decided to bring it here? The only person's whose case has been sunk beyond all hope of viability is yours.
