Dino elves the greatest hero's of then all
Shame we are playing elves though maybe we can fix this by making then a death cult Aztec style elves
So it's been half an hour since we settled on a civ. Where's OP at?
>>46082789
Let's worship Xochiq, the god of fertility and life.
Is OP killed?
Considering OP seems dead, I have to ask.
I don't plan on continuing this one, way too tired for that, but is there any general method to running civ threads? Any rules or similar? trips or tricks?
>>46083065
Choose the civ and location beforehand. Have your first few posts pre-written. Don't try to anticipate on your players' reactions too much because they're a bunch of unpredictable assholes. Have fun.
Source: I've never run a civ.
>>46083244
This is true.
>>46083065
Have. A. Map. Planned.
And have a general plot planned, pretty much you want to have a setting in mind, and have the ONLY thing people vote on in the beginning being the race they want to play. Add anything else at the start and the thread is bound to fail.
Also, have plot hooks. Civs thankfully have the ability to be a lot more freeform than quests, but you still need to have plots ready for the players to go through.
Wouldn't hurt to get a tech tree ready too (Personally I just remove the stupid technology research thing, it's very arbitrary and doesn't fit in with the time scale of these games, people don't magically discover tech every few days or months, it takes years. Give them a general tech level and give them the ability to get new tech/magic/whathaveyou through events rather than "X DAYS TILL BLAH IS DONE")
>>46083280
Same guy here, want me to run a one-off civ for the night? I'll make a new thread for it, I have a couple plots from past games we can mess with.
>>46083310
Can't hurt to try.
>>46083310
I'm game.
>>46083310
