Do any of you guys invite impartial outsiders to observe your gaming sessions and critique them harshly?
Why does their critique matter?
No. If I'm running a game then it's up to the players to tell me what to do better. I don't care what some third party thinks of it, it's the players who are the ones important.

Why do that when you could just have them play too?

Why would we harshly critique the impartial outsider?

I do not like anyone that is not directly participating to be in the room.Every time I have had spectators, they keep trying to have random chit chat with others and slow down the game. I pissed off one of my players when I told him his girlfriend could play but she could not be here during the game if she is not playing. The last time she was here those two spent most of the time loudly making out and halting the game to talk about irrelevant stuff. The other couple at the table spoke with them about it after the game.

Why would you give a single shit about the opinion of anyone not actually playing the game?
You're trying to have fun, not rehearse some live theatre production.
