Alright guys I've been rocking a monoblack Vampire Tribal deck for about a year now. Drana has been at the helm, and I really put the deck together because I got some good black staples and tutors from a friend for free.
But it consistently under performs. I was considering transforming it into an Olivia Voldaren deck to broaden the cards I can use, and see if it also opens up some strategies.
Has anyone played RB and Mono vampires? And if so how do the two compare?

Have a mono black tribal Vamp deck myself it performs great.

This is exactly what it's become too. Between my playgroup and LGS, they are everywhere. Except good Eldrazi decks wouldn't run all wastes.
And I could handle the fact that they're the cancerous deck dujour. But just about every one of these eldrazi players kicks and screams at getting targeted. Looks fun. I'm not sure Isperia is doing a lot of work here - you won't be attacked enough to get the card draw, and there are cheaper ways to deter attack. I would increase your counterspells or look at ways to more reliably add hexproof - things like felidar sovereign, medomai the ageless, and Azor's Elocuters will need protection from removal.

Unless you actually want to discard your hand, but yeah. Card seems bad. Maybe if you have ludicrous amounts of mana from Cabal Coffers shenanigans, or power it out with rituals and tutor YawgsWill as one of your three cards. But I'm not excited about it. Then again I'm not a huge black combo player so I may not actually know what the fuck I'm talking about (note: this is always a very real and likely possibility with any opinion expressed about anything in this general).

1 mana cheaper seems more important than keeping your original hand when you get to basically tutor a winning hand
With that said, both cards are very win-more in that they are most effective when you can tutor and play the cards you get all in one turn, which requires cabal coffers or crypt ghast etc

Playing against rhys the redeemed, aurelia the warleader, and meren.
Mid game, everyone has OK boardstates, but Rhys has about 25-35 permanents.
I got quite a few defensive enchantments, so he's inclined not to swing at me. He's already dealt with silent arbiter, pendrell mists, porticullus, crawlspace, etc.
On my turn, drop glacial chasm.
Rhys player gets huge shit-eating grin as he draws on his turn,

Proceeds to craterhoof/coat of arms with the 30 mana he has open.

Running a Sliver Overlord EDH and this baby is going right in it the moment it gets released. It's not great, but it's easy to pull out with five tokens powered by Gemhide or manaweft.

I don't actually run a sliver deck, which is probably why I didn't immediately understand how powerful it is to run a colorless land so you can occasionally pay 6 and sacrifice a land along with five slivers (in a sliver deck) to make some flying fatty.
I mean, I didn't get why that was something a sliver player would want to do, but you're the sliver player here, you obviously know best.
