>arrive in port town, meet party, etc.
>quickly find local item shop
>run by another halfling, Todd
>Todd has a niece called Tammy
>both of them have bright red hair
>Todd is incessantly cheerful
>Tammy retrieves items for customers and is generally adorable
>party gets sent to investigate spooky goings-on elsewhere
>as we go to leave, my character feels a tug on the back of his shirt
>it's Tammy
>she's holding out three gold coins
>"Please, mister, could you check on my parents? They're on your way."
>"Our farm has a green-tiled roof. I painted some of them myself!"
>let her keep the gold and tell her i'll check on them
>pass several farms on the way to spook location
>wave at farmers
>they wave back
>none of them have green rooves
>eventually it starts getting dark
>decide to find a place to stay
>party want to try and stay with some farmers

>approach farm house
>there's a corpse outside

>find a small dolly clutched in the woman's hand
>it has red thread for hair
>carefully take dolly and pocket it
>eventually return to port town
>go to the item shop and talk to Todd
>when he's told what happened, his perpetual smile disappears
>says he'll tell Tammy
>give him the doll to return to her
>while walking away from the shop, hear a high-pitched wail from inside
>some time later, we're leaving town for the high seas
>go around saying our farewells
>Todd is manning his shop, tells us seeing us might upset Tammy
>fair enough
>as we're setting out to sea, Tammy comes rushing to the docks
>waves us off and calls out to me
>"Thanks for the cool dolly, mister!"

I'm just glad that Tammy didn't end up dead,really.That assuming Todd didn't kill them after all and might do the same to her if he needs to.

Of course there are a shitton of other possibilities, and remember, in most good campaigns 99% of the plot is created from player conjecture.

I totally wasn't paying attention and thought these two dead people were the people you met already. As in, now you know they're evil fakes, but they let you live for some reason, and the girl was taunting you at the end that she knows you know.
