Rolled 3 (1d4)

This is objectively the best d4.

WHERE DO I GET IT???
>>
But what if it lands on a small side?
>>
>>46040084
The side is rounded enough that it's not stable.
>>
>>46040084
What if your d2 lands on edge, you fucking cockmongler?
>>
>>46040040
How is it any different than a regular pyramid d4? It's just an over engineered version of one.

Buy some sculpee clay, nigga. DIY.

Because the rolled number is facing STRAIGHT UP.
>>

Not as rounded on the edges as the one shown in the picture, but it still gets the job done 99% of the time.

Sorry, posted the wrong link accidentally. This is where you buy them.

Impact Miniatures has them as part of the DCC set, also separate for two bucks.

Still an ugly pyramid thing. This shape is better.

Subjective. I rather like it.

Give me the elegance of the triangle any day.
>>
>>46045420

Pyramid. Triangles are two-dimensional.
>>
>>46045420
yeah having extra sideways numbers on every face is hella elegant. A die that just lands and doesn't roll at all is super elegant. A pointed top that will murderate any foot that steps on it or palm that slams onto it is crazy elegant.

I've never rolled one of those, but am at least a bit worried that the combination of rounded and sharp edges would make it roll really funky. Still am interested in it though.

I know for a fact that twelve-sided d4s roll great though. I mean, you always have to be a bit leery about twelve-sided dice because if the edges are just a bit too rounded, they roll all over the place like marbles, but the roman numeral d4s in the pic are pretty good d12s. And speaking from experience, they never get confused with actual d12s (though I suppose they could if you were using a dice set with a similar enough appearance to them... I've never seen it though).

This. The problem with the standard, pyramidal d4s is not that they're hard to read, but that they roll like crap. In fact, they really don't roll. They don't roll around in your hand very well, and they land with a splat. With that said, the lack of points on that funky d4 probably means it rolls better, though I'd warrant still not well. Also, I'd have to see it up close, but the number on top looks tiny and therefore less than ideal.

Okay, it looks like the number is actually pretty easy to read. The number on the tiny die top bothers me a little bit aesthetically, but I'd probably get over that quickly. And it looks like they'd roll around in your hand decently. However, if you look closely, it seems like most of the dice stay on whatever side they initially land on, which is a serious concern. I wouldn't mind trying a few out, but I'm not convinced they would be as good as twelve-sided d4s, even accounting for the fact that having a unique shape to distinguish them is obviously preferable.

>A die that just lands and doesn't roll at all is super elegant.
Well that's purely opinion, but the fact is that a die that comes to rest quicker will be statistically closer to random.
>>
>>46040040
To me, that looks ugly in comparison to the normal pyramid because pointy things are neat.

HOWEVER, I get it on a practical level because 1d4s typically don't roll too well on a surface.
>>
>>46048606
You want it to roll *some* so that there is some actual randomization going on.

The best d4: a d8 with the numbers 1-4 twice.

I say triplefour dice. D12 with 3xd4.

The same company also makes doublesix dice, which are also weird. Gonna buy some because lel.
>>
>>46049125
Hence my saying quicker, but sharp edges stop it sooner and they prevents it from locating it's internal defects.
>>
>>46046563
Those look so nice. d12 is by far my favorite type. So comfortable, I never feel like I fucked up a roll.
