It was honestly kindy shitty. The UI was terribad and the gameplay was shit.
A good example of "tons of choices, non of which matter, and tons to do but only one thing that works".
If it was given a full, actually funded release it could be alright. I played about an hour of it, it has potential but that's all it had in that sliver of working content.

Figured it out:
The current version 0.7... has some images disabled. Downloading the Shaded Sprites (which is actually just a data.win) and extracting into IAS result in version 0.65... being applied.
It solves the problem, has no major version changes and is more stable.

But what he did was make a generic version of the game with non-40k names, in case GW ever made their own version of Chapter Master and then send a C&D.

Some dudes on bay12 are apparently "cleaning" the gamemaker code and have been for six months plus. Could be legit and slow, or drip feeding due to no progress, i dunno.
I laid some foundations for a C++ rewrite, released a beta marine editor and put it all to one side shortly after. Not actively being worked on but passively being thought about at least. Not enough time in the week.

Fabricator-General Duke had to stop development due to a potentially impending C&D due to idiocy from a GW blackshirt "accidentally" telling his superior about the project, and b/c Duke had finally saved up enough money to go to college if I remember correctly.
The game was changed to "Interstellar Army Simulator 2015" and there's a mod to change it back to CM. The game is (more or less) fully-functional and playable, there are just some tertiary features that haven't been implemented yet and it's kinda buggy.
