Your scouts report the sounds of battle inside the forest, and a few groups of goblins head into our lands before moving upwards into the mountains. The next day, the Skaven army arrive at the edge of the forest, burning the goblin banners. They are coming for us.

The Mages attempt to create some sort of device that can convert live bodies into a living crystal substance that they have manipulated for most of their lives. However, the machine overcharges and nearly blows up, causing the little progress they managed to make to disappear, sadly.

The city attempts to expand downwards, but progress is slow as the incoming skaven army causes the Mages to become anxious and on edge. The Myceaneans quickly begin to move under the ground in the available accommodation, little as it is.

More Myceanean forces bolster the defence!

The Mages come up with a hastily-designed magical landmine of sorts and lay the outside walls with them, but they drain a lot of energy from the mages, and after mistaking an incoming scout for a skaven, they quickly retreat back into the walls, instead deciding to keep their enemy for the incoming army. Mines are armed.

As the skaven get in range, we target their slingers from behind, taking down a few, but their distance and position makes it hard for our ranged troops to hit.

The Mages turn the sands into almost quicksand and all of the Pest Giants get stuck, sinking to halfway up their thighs. It would take several hours for them to be dug out, essentially eliminating them from the fight.

40 Pest Giants disabled.

But I'm afraid about the cannons, so I want to keep 10 (?) Earth Mages for defense, such as:

Keep some of them on standby to repair the walls attacked by the cannons (the ground forces will be slowed down by the labyrinths, hopefully).

Also seal off the labyrinth if they attack on ground, perhaps change the layout just in case they scouted it beforehand - it should be relatively easy, just add some walls.
