Away with us he’s going,
The solemn-eyed:
He’ll hear no more the lowing
Of the calves on the warm hillside
Or the kettle on the hob
Sing peace into his breast,
Or see the brown mice bob
Round and round the oatmeal chest.
For he comes, the human child,
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than he can understand.

Trained by humans, fairies began adapting to the industrial world. Humanity instantly recognised the use of hand-sized engineers and were eager to exchange labour for technical documents and the machines needed to build an industrial base.

And of course, many fairies began training at human military academies.

But, isn't adapting to industry and using all these carbon-spewing machines sort of against what we're supposed to be doing?

I haven't tried Ryuutama yet but it looks like it could be a good match in flavor. Have your players perform a simple task like walking to the market one town over and have everything possible go wrong. A lot of the magic probably comes from using your imagination to come up with scenarios.

Ryuutama gives the GM a role as a benevolent spirit guiding the players on their journey; you could potentially house-rule that as a malevolent spirit determined to throw as many obstacles in their path as possible.

I haven't had a look through the rulebook yet but it bills itself as a "natural fantasy RPG" which says to me that there's a lot of nature magic going on. Tossing in some illusions or time paradoxes shouldn't be too hard.

They are living Nano-hives who serve a number of industrial and domestic purposes with the "dust" they spray from their bodies being nano machines customized to specific tasks such as maintaining indoor farms or sterlizing surgical rooms.

Depending upon certain models and the sophistication of their creation they can modify the use of their "dust" and some are even granted personalities and intelligence.

However, Rogues can be dangerous and can damage the environment and kill people with their "dust" if they are not maintained properly.

that's a wendigo anon-kun
most creatures of mythology you could fluff as fairies somehow, but considering that fairies and wendigos are actually from mythologies on the other side of the ocean from each other that one might be a bit of a stretch

>How do you fairy?
small creatures that are random as fuck, love to frollick and be whimsical and care-free, and become hostile, even violent should you try and ruin their fun and whimsy like being mean to them, or being particularly ugly, or whatever else that may upset them

It's for Dungeons: The Dragoning. The chair is made from darksteel.

>fairies (depicted in mythology and indeed, most fantasy settings up to and including in D&D, as spanning a wide range of morals and ethics)
"Yeah, they're totally always so alien and hostile to human well-being!"

>succubi (literally evil demons)
"They're redeemable!"

Why, /tg/?
>>
>>46023496
>>46023539
It is a type of fairy. To the topmost anon fairy is synonymous with Fey which are basically a mythical clade or type of beings similar to say mammals or birds.

Redcaps are the fairy equivilent of an orc: violent, mean, and probably do nasty things to their sisters when they don't have humanoids to wet their caps.

Because we just have to always be contrarian towards mainstream or otherwise common understandings of things, I think.
>>
>>46024265
I thought it was because you can put your dick in a succubus and not be accused of being a pedophile so we keep fooling ourselves that it's entirely possible to redeem the irredeemably evil creature so we can put our dick in it without damning ourselves in the process.
>>
>>46023684
Alien and difficult to comprehend yes, hostile no. It's a fine line of course, if the fairies are doing humans harm because they don't understand our fragility it might not play out differently than if they were just internationally harmful.

Also you can redeem succubi... by killing them and refilling the shell of their bodies with a lawful good entity through the helmet of opposite alignment.
>>
I like when some of the fairies are things you wouldn't even think are fairies. Like vampires.
>>
>>
>>46024929

We talking mythological faeries or pop culture ones here?

Cause I can think of a few faeries in myth that are vampyric like the Leanan Sidhe but I haven't heard of fey linked to vampirism before.

If it's pop culture then I agree that Kiasyd from VTM are a pretty fun blend of the two.
>>
>>46024317
Does sticking your dick in a fairy cause accusations of pedophilia? Even for the itsy bitsy ones my understanding is they're usually scaled-down adults.

Only tangentially related but I have a very fey like elf who claims his name is "Steve" (obviously fake but he says that's the name he's using this century), is lazy, short attention, and hits on everything. He's also mildly selfish and incredibly capable, but never puts in any effort so he just comes off as "average", basically jobbing himself. The party has no idea he could be doing way better

Fairies
>>
>>45998861
In my setting most Fae are fairly weak, even the most powerful is only challenging to a mid level group of murder hobos.

However, the Fae Queen is actually a god that used an obscure loophole to remain awake while the other gods sleep. What's more is that the Fae have a large number of powerful beings (like the Tane) at their beck and call. A low level party could take a fairy, sure, but they'll pay for it down the road.

As for behaviour, they like to screw around and have fun. Do not disturb their fun. They only know emotions in the extremes, flying from blissful joy to bloodthirsty violence in an instant.

>>

You know, there's all this stuff about how fairies are awful sociopaths who will visit deranged cruelties upon vulnerable mortals for no reason and then there's this. Maybe those fairies are just their equivalent to the humans who would do this in the reversed situation.

I reasoned that 'understanding nature' would extend beyond talking to animals and making plants grow weird, going full Artemis Foul on their technological and scientific chops. They are, however, incapable of arcane/divine magic because it's inherently unnatural(tied to a outside dimension that is essentially a constant clashing of absolute opposites at all times forever and never.) Their legends also paint them as the ones who laid the foundations of the universe, its laws, and are the genesis of all life everywhere. Understandably, true fae are either the smuggest and most arrogant of cunts, or creepily appreciative of how "their creation" has grown.

well the fairy may well be of consenting age, but from a distance that's not what it looks like!
