>One of the enemies is a guy than can absorb metals through his pores and regrow said metals as a carapace or second skin around himself.
How do you counter this in a sword and shield setting without any magic?
>>
>>45849688
Make him absorb aluminum.
Boom, done.
>>
>>45849688
Set a deep pit-trap for him.

The fall should kill him, especially with all that extra weight.

If it doesn't because of generic "toughness", just pour water in until he drowns - no way he can swim. Or if he doesn't need to breathe, pour in pitch and lamp oil, then toss down a torch.
>>
>>45849688
hit him with stones and wood? Easy
>>
>>45849688
Fire. Heat the armor up enough and the armor will only trap it and help him cook.
>>
>>45850204
I was gonna say, unless he can pipe cool air through the open space where the metal means flesh like Kars, he's gonna roast from a basic fireball.

Arrows, even.

Poisons...I mean, we'll want to avoid the metallic poisons, but there's plenty of herbal poisons and animal venoms.

"Here, catch this brightly colored frog!"
>>
>>45849688
fire, cook it alive

Boiling oil.

Acids.

Hire a diseased prostitute to fuck him and watch him die from syphilis?

smash a bunch of thermometers on him, let the mercury do its work

You don't even need to kill him once he gets into the pit. If it's well made you can just leave him there and wait till he dies of hunger or thirst.
>>
>>45849688
DROP HIM IN THE SEA
>>
>>45850551
What's this from?

Also, you could throw a bucket of saltwater on him
>>
Punch him 'til he dies.

¡Es la hora del luchador!
Seriusly use wrestling, suffocate him or dislocate his members one by one.

That, my friend, is from Planetary, one of the best comics to deal with the whole zeitgeist of the turn of the century.

Fire.
>>
Lead.

Toxic. Soft. Heavy.
>>
>>45849688
Heat - burn him alive in his metal shell.

Give him poisonous metals - lead, uranium, plutonium - aka poison him.

Frost - force him to fight you in cold area - metal carapace will hinder him there. Do he will either discard It(equal fight) or keep fighting in very unfavorable conditions.

Acid - aqua Regia or something, just dissolve that metal armor - make it just a lump of unusable metal that hinders his movements.

Blunt impacts.

Slippery ground - metal carapace, higher weight, harder to control his momentum.
>>
>>45849688
Even in close combat blunt force trauma to the head would be at least somewhat effective, if it's truly a second skin a decent amount of the impact force from each blow would be transfered to his skull since there would be absolutely no padding. Just knock him out, then you could strap him to a catapult, burn him, drown him, tie him up, or whatever you wanted.
>>
How fast can he absorb metal?

Actually, forget that, because no matter how fast you absorb metal, it won't be enough to fill in the hole left in you by a bullet.

You wind up with a metal-encased corpse, dead from internal bleeding and organ damage.

>Bullets

Pick one.
>>
>>45851095
Replace bullet with crossbow bolt. The point stands.

Still not enough metal in the bolt-head to fill in fatal wounds, let alone create an armored carapace.

It's a stupid power.

Blunt force trauma will still fuck a nigga up. Hit him with a club.
>>
>>45849688
I don't know how to break this to you, but if you got Ferrous Bueller wandering around metal-bending, your setting isn't "without any magic" anymore. It's a setting where one motherfucker has magic and the party just doesn't get any of their own.

>Ferrous Bueller
>>
>Option A:
Long fall
>Option B:
Non-metal based poisons or toxins
>Option C:
Bash in the non-metal parts of his body
>Option D:
Douse him in oil and set it on fire.
>Option E:
Keep him somewhere without food and water for extended periods of time.
>Option F:
Use a stronger metal sword.
>>
lead him under a boulder that you have set to fall on him and let him be crushed to death and even if his body is tough enough to survive that he will be stuck there and die of thirst/hunger/suffocation
>>
>>45852532
or hold him underwater
>>
>>45850551
So how long was that guy in the pit til he died? Also can you give a little background info on this scene?
>>
>>45849688
1. Hit with rock.

2. Hit with big rock, via catapult

3. Hit with stick

4. Hit with big stick, via ballista
>>
>>45852187
The way op phrased it may be confusing but
he probably means that how does the party defeat him without magic
not that the setting is without magic
>>
Really any blunt trauma should do the job eventually. Even a regular sword is capable of inflicting blunt trauma, as a general rule if armor doesn't straight up deflect a blow you're gonna feel it whether or not the injury is immediately fatal.
>>
>>45849688
I'd wrestle him into submission with a greater number of people and then forcefeed him shit till he dies of septicemia.
>>
>>45852187
>Ferrous Bueller
Holy shit that's comedy Gold
>>
>>45849688

Have you tried hitting him very hard?
>>
>>45852982
I'm totally steeling that
>>
>>45849688
Sure, a hard carapace, but it doesn't actually protect the fragile human being inside. There's a reason why cars come with shock absorption.

So if you just hit that person hard enough, it would do internal trauma and would kill them anyway.
>>
>>45849688
Hit him on the head with a big hammer. The blunt force will be enough to do him in.
>>
>>45849688
Assuming metal weapons are not useful because the enemy just absorbs the weapon, I think the answer is to go primitive: Sharp pieces of wood/rock. Swords or arrows, either works. A wood and/or stone truncheon would also work.

If the metal absorb is restricted to via pores and isn't super-instantaneous or passive, regular arrows should also work as the head will be subcutaneous literally before he knows what hit him.
>>
>>45849688
Hit him with lead bullets from a sling, then bash his head with a club.

Lead is very dense and very soft for a metal, it deforms easily. It also has a low melting point.

That guy is easily dealt with by iron age tribal teens.

>>45852591
About 40 years.

It is a subversion of the Hulk. A genius creates a bomb based on multiverse math, is hit by the blast, turns into a beast.

Pit trap and water.
