14 packs were bought for $217 after tax. Will everything work out well for OP? Find out soon!
>>
>>45806582
No, but good luck anyway
>>
>>45806582
Not gunna go well friend, but good luck.
>>
Starting with Fifth Dawn. Here we go!
>>
>>45806582
>217 for 14 packs

Reasons I don't play magic anymore for 200 Alex.
>>
>>45806582
>200 plus dollary doos for 14 packs of five cards which are just random shit

And this is why the other hobbies laugh at you. At least with minis you know what you're getting
>>
>>45806684
But if he pulls a goyf from MM thats already $150 back. Its just like any other type of gambling.
>>
>>45806700
>At least with minis you know what you're getting
Overpriced plastic and metal? That we then have assemble with glue and paint? I'm pretty sure other hobbies are laughing at us too.
>>
>>45806720
If I won the Lotto I wouldn't be in such financial crisis with my life.

Don't build your life on 'if's.

Some of us play our stupid pretend games with overpriced cardboard, others with overpriced plastic, but in the end, we're all just nerds playing stupid pretend games and the rest of the world laughs at all of us.
>>
assuming OP failed based on no photos Q_Q
>>

>>
>>45806753
>>45806768
You guys are really insecure.

>>45806783
Pretty much. But for anyone to suggest OP is any crazier for spending his money on 14 packs for $217 is retarded. I spent $170 on OOP Games-Workshop models last week.
>>
>>45806744
But ifs are why luck based gambling exists. Its exhilarating for some people to take a chance on maybe winning big.
>>
>>45806747
Crucible of Worlds, mostly. Engineered Explosives, Mycosynth Golem, Staff of Domination, and Vedalken Shackles to a lesser extent.
>>
>>45806825
But what if he pulls a goyf AND a Zendikar fetch?
>>
>>45806831
>$170 on OOP Games-Workshop models
what specifically?
>>
>>45806832
Luck based gambling is retarded, and if you always get a thrill out of playing then you have an addiction and should stop.
>>
Post your card finds already fag.

What this gent said, lets see em op!
>>
>>45806917
He already killed himself.

>thinking there is not luck based gambling
Luck is always the largest element in gambling.
>>
>>45806878
Or switch to a cheaper and healthier addiction, such as heroin or killing hookers.
>>
>>45806824

I'm still here. I opening them right now. I'll post pictures when I'm done with each set. Cheers or tears!

The first two packs I've opened, the very first common peeking out at me as I tore open the foily placenta of magic card birth, were beautiful and pristine serum visions!

This is great, I've never been excited about the common section of a booster pack before!
>>
>>45806872
90's Games-Workshop models, doesn't really matter what, but all in all I'm happy with it and how I spent that money. Cards are always a gamble. You buy a pack and could have maybe every single card in the pack already.

>>45806966
Just post pics.
>>
>>45806878
I buy two booster boxes every time a new set comes out and open one right away. Few hundred dollars a few times a year isn't to bad and I enjoy opening packs hoping for something big. Opened all of this new zendikar and got three expeditions which more then paid for the boxes which felt great.
>>
>>45807049
At least you aren't as bad as my friend, who buys like, a case and a half of every set.

And he wonders why he has credit card debt.
>>
>>45806966
cmon dude, dont be /soc/ like, post em photos for the breeehs
>>
>>45807087

I'll never understand these kinda people.
>>
>>45807087
>>45807168
CREDIT CARDS, NOT EVEN ONCE
>>
>>45807168
That's why I don't play anymore, Magic is for rich people and retards now.

I miss the days when I could play for cheep.
>>
>>45807087
whats with americans and credit cards anyway?
I kinda miss '90 magic, most people-at least in my area played ONLY "casual" and it was fun as hell.
>>
>>45807205
I'm happy I only ever collected Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh cards. Still have my favorite two cards, a Japanese Alakazam foil and a Dark Magician girl foil.
>>
>>45806582
Should have gone pack by pack. OP you're a fag.
>>
>>45807251
>American
I'm Canadian son, I really hope I never move to America.
>>
>>45807205
Retard spotted.

You can still play for cheap if you play the right formats/with the right people. You just want top tier competitive decks to cost $5.

Fifth Dawn went OK. No crucible, but solid value. At $9.97 per pack after tax, I think I'm close to making my money back? Maybe off by a few dollars, but who's counting.

I don't have any of these cards, so they are all going to my binder, minus 1 Serum Visions that is going to be sold on TCG. I only really play EDH, so I only keep 2 copies of each card. The rest are liquidated. And then spent on more magic cards.

Next, we are on to Zendikar!
>>
>>45807277
Everyone in my area plays top tier decks, and they're the only ones that win prizes. Only modern, standard, and draft are played in my area.
>>
>>45807253
yugioh kinda wnt to the cesspool after synchro. Literally killed most of card sinergies, they are so fucking easy to summon and too fucking strong.

>>45807268
stay there, even tho you are full of sjw lefties your country is amazing. every fucking canadian i met(and i work with a LOT of tourists, including canadians)are the nicest person i ever met. Guess stereotypes are true sometimes.

>>45807277
>>45807311
I feel that anon too, i wanted to start playing again-duel decks are cheap as hell and you can have fun with friends but EVERYONE in my area plays only the same fucking uber-strong meta decks. <its not even fun.
>>
>>45807357
i had the same problem with my table, they all spend hundreds on decks they were going to use on a fkn kitchen table, my only consolation was a dude who was in love with pauper format
>>
>>45807415
I am told, on the regular, 'Why don't you just buy some fetch lands?'

Because I don't have any money retards.

What kind of math are you doing?

The lot of 14 packs for $217.

217/14=?
>>
>>45807506
I'm not the one who has difficulty to pay off his dues here.
>>
>>45807514
>has 10 other packs

what math are you doing anon?
>>
>>45807304
Grats man you made back your money. I love that you are an EDH player so this is all just straight value and jank into your crazy EDH decks.
>>
>>45807514
Each pack doesnt have the same price tag, you retard.
>>
>>45807540
Exactly, you are considered 'wealthy', or at least part of the upper middle class.

I'm lower middle class. I barely get enough to pay rent, bills, and debts.
>>
>>45807304
Does krark clan ironworks and summoning station go infinite?
Nice pool there, damn. Hardly a single thing I wouldn't mind getting my hands on.

>>
>>45807629
Nice pull.
>>
>>45807629
Thats 100. Zendikar packs officially bought and paid for.
>>
>>45807629
Congratulations, OP actually got lucky this time. Good for you.
>>
>>45807574
I've been called many things before, but "upper middle class" sure ain't one of them.
Even person with below average income can make do without falling into debt when they budget and prioritize properly. Problem is that most people can't.
>>
>>45807552
The one where there are only 14 packs.

Each pack cost him $15.50

Where can I find a bunch of bulk full-art lands for cheap online? Just bought pic for a friend of mine who is still in the "Timmy" phase and wanted to also throw in some of those lands without depleting my supply.

Yeah, so Zendikar went well. At $16.97 per pack after tax ($67.88 total) I made money on this set. A pack cracker's dream!

Super pumped to get scalding tarn. It was the one super expensive card I still needed for my thraximundar zombie EDH deck, and the one card I wanted most from opening all these packs. What luck!

And now finally, Modern Masters.
>>
Waitin for next update...

Fuck this. I'm going to sleep. I'll read what he found in the morning.

>>
>>45808018
Zendikar ate your luck, you should have opened MM second. Now you are fucked.
>>
>>45807806
Eat in 80% - 90% of the time, live in Niagara Region.

I want to have a job that pays better than 12 an hour, but there aren't any in this area, and I don't have the money to move.
>>
>>45808018
I used to love to crack packs, but I kind of stopped doing it outside of limited. Just stopped feeling fun.

The exception is souvenirs. I still love cracking packs in Japanese and German.

Modern Masters was good. Not crazy like Zendikar, but pretty good. 2 mythics, but sadly one was one of the cheaper ones. At $21.01 per pack after tax ($105.05 total), I probably lost a few bucks on the Modern Masters set. Still really solid value, and nothing to complain about. Again, all cards I do not have!
>>
>>45808500
At 21 a pack you lost some from MM for sure. Better luck next time.

Here is the whole haul. Awesome opening overall! Pretty sure I ended up slightly net positive. Thanks scalding tarn!

Plus the vendor included some scratch off coupon where you could win a free gift card. I won a $50 gift card. I can't decide what to buy next! I want a full box of Zendikar, but I think I'll just stick to packs. A full box is a little too high roller for me, I think. Or maybe just step it down and get a really cheap box of RTR. I still need all the shock lands from that set. Whichever, I'll have some time to think about it. Probably won't buy any more packs until next month.
>>
>>45808754
Congrats on making your money back. Scalding Tarn was definetely the push you needed

Nice Aether Vial.
>>
>>45807304
Did you really sleeve a Razormane Masticore?
>>
>>45809660

It's a rare. All rares get sleeved and put into binders, organized by set.

It's not a choice, it's an organizational system. Otherwise I just end up with piles of cardboard everywhere!
