d100 for strategic tendency
Rolled 8 (1d100)
>>45600440
>>45600440
I guess we could be a "seed" of some sort planted by hive fleet Kraken (it sent pods of tyranids to slowly cover and scour the planet in order to cover this region of space?)
The planet itselft might be uninhabited or be the home of some alien civilization
>>45600449
Synaptic web... lots of synapse creatures? I think? Am I correct?
>>45600487
This is a good idea, very interesting

faggot, there
those we have yet to eat(rival) d100
We can make this up if we don't like the result and make it some weird alien race

like this or should we make sumthin up?
>>45600813
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/List_of_sentient_species
Take a look at the "other species" section for something unique. Or perhaps we can roll one up ourselves
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Creature_Feature_Creation_Table_for_/tg
>>45600861
Let's roll niggas! Keep the dice train up!
Some of those races are really cool imo
>>45600861
Lets read the list first, post any you find interesting guys, then we will decide if we roll it or not
Rolled 95 (1d100)
>>45600896
I say we roll, and then check the list if our result ends up as a boring oneRolling for enviorment or world just in case
>>45600917
yea, lets do this, one sec let me pull up table
>>45600917
oh cool, an urban enviroment! WE GET TO EAT CIVILIZED!!!
d10 for food habits
Rolled 1 (1d10)
>>45600953
And I guess we make this species sentient aswell? And should the planet be like Corusaunt?
>>45600972
of course sentience! no fun to eat stupid food, and yea I imagine coruscant/hiveworld esque
oooo they are carnivores! Interesting...
d10 for how they reproduce
Rolled 9 (1d10)
>>45600992
plz be asexual
>>45601004

>>45601057
Well, they have sex... alright... WEGET TO EAT BABIES TOO!
d10 for main sense

>>45601098
Rolled 5 (1d10)

>>45601100
Hearing, interesting
d100 for their conflicts(OTHER than us)
Rolled 11 (1d100)
>>45601131
>>45601131
Can't we just limit them to Tyranids, this is unexplored space after all
>>45601140
this is a good point, ok its just us! ALL THE MEAT IS FOR US!!!
ok skip a couple of tables and... roll a d6 for their size
Rolled 2 (1d6)
>>45601191
Rolled 4 (1d6)
>>45601191
fuck, messed up. I'll try again
>>45601210
ok small... how small guys? Like... Ratling small? or
>>45601225
would we rather use this?
I say we use medium, it's more fitting
>>45601307
alright we will go with medium(human) sized
d10 for locomotion(how they move around)
Rolled 5 (1d10)
>>45601363
>>45601366
huh... quadrapeds, so 4 legs, cool
d12 for skin type
Rolled 10 (1d12)
>>45601404
Here we go
Rolled 9 (1d12)
>>45601404
>>45601417
Smooth and slimy skin! 4 legged slug people... cooooooolll... PUDDING!!
gonna skip the crunch for game stuff(kinda pointless)
roll d10 for number of abilities
Rolled 8 (1d10)
>>45601464
>>45601475
ok 6 abilities... no wonder we are stalled on this world! I say we cut that in half for time's sake, so
roll 3 d35's for our abilities
Rolled 7, 21, 3 = 31 (3d35)
>>45601510
>>45601526
re-roll the 21, and the other two are defensive maneuvers(combat training since they are sentient I imagine) and burrowing... they can dig real good
Rolled 7, 6, 22 = 35 (3d35)
>>45601510
Rolled 8 (1d35)
>>45601551
>>45601573
A disorienting attack, probably a screech or noise of some sort... or some optical trick
Alright... what the fuck are these caleed and what do they actually look like? Also what is their tech level guys?
>>45601599
give me a rundown of what we got, starting up spore at the moment so I can make this Xeno, and then if a drafag wants to draw it he can use the spore creature
>>45601620
ok summary incoming
Carnivourous urban dwellers, they are about the size of humans. they have four legs(don't make it like a fucking horse) with smooth and slimy skin. Their primary sense is hearing, they can burrow and have a disoreinting attack of some sort
ok guys, what is their technology level? Are they only on this world or do they have a tiny empire of their system?
>>45601749
System empire. Less technologically advanced than all the major players (orkz and nids excluded), but still a modern race
>>45601688
So they are slimy mega-molerats. I like it.
>>45601749
At least they have cities. I somehow picture them somewhere between Renaissance and Industrial Revolution tech-wise, but that's just me.
>>45601818
I like this, cause the whole planet needs to be urbanized
>>45601882
yea... no... I picture them having arms and standing upright... but thats just me... any ideas for a name?
>>45601688
>>45601835
Considering molerats. What if their disorienting attack is scent-based? So they are moleskunks?
I guess for technology wise, maybe they can be advanced enough to have set up bases on thier moon(s) and launching probes
>>45602034
I like this
One day they lose contact with their lunar outposts onne by one, then their satellites start to send them images of the ncroaching force... and then the tide is upon them
>>45602137
[Last known transmission fron moon base #3]
"We are getting some really strange readings. Is it an asteroid? If so then why didn't we detect it sooner? Switching to optical view...by the [interference] what are they...[a moment of silence]..we..are not..alone [sounds of rippers swarming the station]
[END OF TRANSMISSION]
How about we roll up the plaet itself. We can use this table here and just roll for the planet related stuff
Rolled 2, 4, 8, 5, 10, 10, 6, 1, 8, 8 = 62 (10d10)
>>45602361
Rollan
>>45602394
Here are the rolls that mattered
2=Cardinal world(makes sense)
first 8=safe(makes sense)
first 10= war rating no records of war(funny to imagine they were originally pacifists)
6=military status:they have an army though
last 8= weak magnetic fields
>>45602458
Nice
I would love some writefag from their perspective... like... a kid looking up into the sky as he sees the great bio ships descending! Someon! pls write this!
Maybe the weak magnentic field is something that recently happend, and that is why they have advanced toward space?
>>45602555
makes sense to me.
>>45602553
Well before that we need to fluff them out even more, here are a few thingsin order to get the ball rolling
> Are they a unified species or divided into nations
>What is their goverment like
>What type of weapons do they use
>How old is their civilization
>>45602612
well, we know they have not had a war on record... So I imagine they are unified
Weapons... could go more or less advanced than humies in my opinion, but their tech level is a bit above modern humans(us) as they have actual moon bases
civilization can't be that much older than ours... maybe like 10,000? less probably actually
NO CLUE on goverment
>>45602705
uhh
meritocracy
technocracy
>>45602705
I imagine thier guns to be like fallout 4's synth weapons, like a mix between a bullet and laser
>>45602910
that works for me
>>45602756
meritocracy?
>>45602756
How about Geniocracy? I imagine when thier star decided to flip them the bird they needed the planets brightest minds, and over the years it could form as a basis for the new unified goverment? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geniocracy
Just brainstorming here
>>45603018
hmmmm... yea this could be interesting, lets go with geniocracy
so, back to the tyranids real quick, we rolled an unkillable monster, similar to old one eye in that he always comes back... what Genus do we want it to be?
Carnifex? zoanthrope?Warrior?Broodlord?
And what is unique about them, in appearance and ability, that marks them apart?
>>45603288
How about a mawloc?
>>45603420
well... uh... just read up on that on 1d4chan... dat fuckin art do... MAYBE, but I feel like throwing a burrowing super-eater against a burrowing race is... feels like that fight would end rather quickly...
>>45603569
These are the Tyranids we're talking about here, this is going to end with extinct 21st century mole people one way or another. Besides it makes sense the swarm would adapt to counter their enemies advantage.
>>45603420
>red terror all over again
>>45603808
>>45603816
OK, a Mawloc could be cool, but so could some of the other less used bioforms...
maybe we vote? I don't know...
Also Red Terror?
>>45603921
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Warhammer+40k+Red+Terror
>>45603999
AH! So i see, a burrowing murderous, unkillable-cause-the-hive-keeps-re-making-him-or--he-is-just-fuck-off-lucky already exists ok... I suggest a Zoanthrope
We have no idea if these mole people have psykers, and if they don't a Zoanthrope would REALLY fuck with the smart-asses at the top of the geniocracy
Thats just my suggestion, plenty of bioforms for possibilities
OK
We are gonna get this done now, holding a vote, here is a short list of suitable bioforms
Carnifex
Warrior
Broodlord
Zoanthrope
Neurothrope
Trygon
Mawloc
ok, I think thats enough, whichever one has the most votes in the end will be our immortal creature... I will not vote unless a tiebreaker is needed
vote people
>>45604418
Carnifex or Trygon
>>45604418
I like the idea of a Zoanthrope.
>>45604418
Broodlord
Don't Nids' alter themselves based on what they eat? Won't there be mole nids running around after they wipe out these poor guys?
>>45604739
Yes afterwards, but our unkillable beast would have been around before we killed them, so it need not be a burrower
>>45604816
This is OP on his phone by the way
>>45604816
Shucks, mole Nids sounded alright
Ok, we so far have a 3 way tie... 20 more minutes to vote! Cast them now!
OK as no one else has voted it is up to me to break the tie!
The winner is.... the Zoanthrope(this should not be surprising)
So, what makes or Zoanthrope unique in appearance/powers? What is he called by our food(enemies)? How has he/it distinguished itself?
>>45606889
>Zoanthrope
imminent rape
>>45606889
>So, what makes or Zoanthrope unique in appearance/power
Its a big guy?
>>45608172
Most Zoanthropes are decently big... what if we made him freakishly big? Like... Carnifex sized? it would certainlly be terrifying... and mean his big ass head is probably CRAZY psychicly powered
>>45608308
He's legendary for a reason, OP
>>45609638
EXACTLY
Now, hate to do this but I need sleep, feel free to discuss the race who's planet we are nomming in further detail, writefag, or fluff what we need to(almost everything basically) but don't let thread die
OP is now sleep
>>45600861
what was the name of those void humans? They were kinda cool
>>45610122
Are you talking about the character back-story group from Dark Heresy? IIRC they're called 'Void-Born' or something.
>>45610694
Weren't they grey and, like feral with claws? I don't know why I brought this up
>>45599318
Where are the rules for this at?
>>45611550
1d4chan
OP is backk
>>45614332
Yay
yea, YAY!
Ok, lets get to work on these tyranids
So, what should we name our giant floating, unkillable psychic powerhouse of a synapse creature?
Also, what is the race we are devouring called?(won't matter to the nids, but it is hard to writefag from a nids perspective, so we should name the race)
>>45614634
How about "Hive fleet Grex" (Grex is one verb for swarm in latin)
And now im just writing something made up for the species: Nertox
>>45614798
I like it, Hive fleet Grex
Nertox? Do tell, sounds like it likes to devour things
I made the Xenos planet (prior to the hive fleets arrival. What do you think? anything that I should change?
>>45614977I added a filter to make it look like if it was taken by an imperial probe
Here is a picture without the filter
>>45614977
>>45614989
Awesome dude! It looks great, and gives us a nice picture for Hive fleet Grex to slober over!
What should we name the planet? I'd say both by imperial classification and what the inhabitants call it
Imperial classification:
Linja Primus
Classification: Temperate world
Status: Xenos infested [purge has been delayed due to several minor Ork waaghs!!! in nearby sectors]
What do you think? It's hard to come up with psuedo latin names.
>>45615111
Linja Primus works for me, we may even be able to expand it into a full imperial report later on.
So, Fleet Grex is Synapse creature heavy, which is probably how, despite being a VERY tiny hive(literally only a few millions we decided) the high number of Hive Tyrants, Warriors, Zoanthropes and other leadership creatures they are able to come up with rather complex strategies and cunning plans. The primary Synapse creature is a MASSIVE Zoanthrope(nickname to be determined) who seems to have developed its own personality and strategic tendencies(much like a hive tyrant) its massive mind is saturated with psychic power and can handle the grand strategy of the entire fleet rather well(partially due to its relatively small size)
Just a quick explanation of our little fleet, if everyone agrees with this?
>>45615186
I like it!
Ok I think we need to brainstorm a little on our soon to be biomass aliens
>>45615522
Ok, well we know the goverment is a geniocracy, leadership based on intelligence, so I imagine they are pretty heavy into science
>>45615950
Do they use the warp for anything?
>>45616240
well we decided they have only made it to the moon, so not for travel at least
HOWEVER do they have psykers? Or are thry like th Tau who don't percieve/can't use warp powers?
>>45616357
Maybe they have just started to unlock thier psyker potential. Like those who dwell in deep meditation (with a potential to be a psyker) can predict events in the future, levitate simple objects. But they are not worth possessing for deamons still
>>45616396
Alright, so Zoanthropes are gonna fucking wow them with their amount of psychic power
I imagine these mildly psychic individuals are studied quite a bit by the goverment(seeing as the most intelligent scientists, mathematicians and such are in charge) have they begun to discover why it happens? Do they know being a Psyker is a gene? Or do they know of the connection to the warp?
>>45600774
>unkillable beats
>>45617103
It is on the table on 1d4chan dude, it is absoltely possible
Come on, we either need to keep fleshing out our food, or we can work on events in the war, such as invasion day, the battle on the moon, or any fight throughout. Again, a Writefag of invasion day could be interesting if anyone is up for it
Should we link this thread in a writefag thread and see if some are willing to write some stuff?
>>45618749
sure, someone get on that(in school, a bit busy myself
bumpig
>>45619856
Oi boss yuz ere too?!
Somehow this thread got unpinned for me in the catalog and I thought it died.
What the fuck.
>>45621322
lel, no! NOW CONTRIBUTE TO THE HIVE!!!
bump my fellow devourers
Bump, OP from phone
>>45623838
>>45622792
>>45621258
Dude, I don't want to be a dick, but if no one is interested, no one is interested. You can try contributing or posing questions instead of just bumping
>>45623981
Good point, let me pose a question or tweo then
How long have we been trying to consume our current enemies and their world? What are a couple of strategies we have used traditionally not used by Tyranids? What is the name of our special Zoanthrope?
bumps agin before bed...
This has a lot of potential, and everyone seemed so excited to add to this! Come on guys, don't let it die!
OP is now sleep... hope this does not die while I am
Keep the thread alive, interesting enough to stop me being a lurker.
Not sure on the name of the aliens but I'll try to contribute soon.
