As far as the fluff goes we're dealing with a large, feathered, quadraped, that reproduces asexually and when it dies splits into smaller versions of itself. When it attacks it can make another one of itself so it is really making use of that copying ability

Obviously is connected to the Changer of Ways, especially since we're sitting in Chaos held space. Since we are not sentient and not domesticated I am guessing that these are tied up in creature trade and probably are used in gladiatorial fights, maybe a sorcerer or two has one as a pet/mount.

The planet is Asuran III, a rocky world littered with rocky spires, locked in an eternal warp/thunder storm. Avian in decent this Xeno later lost it ability to fly but readapted well to life on the surface. Given the dark and storm it developed a keen sense of smell to track it's prey

A blind quadraped with vestigial wings, after being grounded when a warp storm decided to hang out of the planet for a while. I am imagining a brightly colored bat creature if it hasn't been able to fly for centuries. The spines are still coming off the joints on it's forelimbs but it no longer has the skin used for flying.
