All of them are originally from Earth. Most of them have managed to migrate to a city that is serving as an experiment in Mundane/Paranormal coexistence. It's a relatively rocky but overall nice place to live.
A couple prefer their home to the Overcity, but a certain pair of troublemakers have taken to the Overcity as a base of business operations.

Mirra is from a earth much like our own, The chief difference is that the bloodsports in arenas never fell out of style, its not unheard of for someone to pay off their college debt in the arena or even make a comfortable living fighting once every year and then living off the proceeds. Things like Bloodbowl are popular too, But 1v1 duels are the sort of thing that make super bowl bucks.

Forgot to mention if they liked thier homes over overcity. Well, the OC is just a stopping point they all visit every now and then in between their magical duties so yes, homes win over Overcity. Except Lynnia who lives in a cube home somewhere in the universe not even she knows, so ANYWHERE but there is better.

Bernice is from a world of general anarchy largely split between monsters and corporations from the Overcity, along with a few independent tribes.
Claudia and Alessandra come from an alternate history world where the First World War never happened and European Empires (+Japan, China, the USA, Mexico and Brazil) rule the world. Neither of them would like to admit it, but both prefer the Overcity over their own worlds. Probably because there's less war and propaganda, and more freedom.

Alex is from an alternate reality of old America where prohibition lasted for decades, kept illegal by the leaders of the gangs who controlled drink. For them the year is currently 1943, no WWII.
Robert hails from a grim steam-punk world. Whenever he tells his history people wonder why he's trying so hard to find his way back.

Ilmatar was granted the power of air supremacy, in every sense of the word. Very little can escape her deadly aim and seemingly limitless speed.
Ilmatar finds increasingly frustrating to relate to people when they appear as ants from the skies above, or as background actors in a fast moving reel when she accelerates, therefore, when not on duty, she tries as hard as she can to be a social animal among mortals.

Sahara is from an earth much like our own, in that magic is not something that is known about, and technology is around the same level as today. She has the most "normal" life out of my girls due to the fact her parents are still alive (though they believe she is her dead sister) and she goes to school, has hobbies etc.
She loves her world as it is where she grew up and where her family is, but upon coming to the Overcity has been hit by the big picture of her mission. She continues to be her world's protector however, and has instructed her Puchuu, Circa, to alert her whenever a rogue portal opens there, so she can be quick to respond. In return, she assists him with his own mission of restoring order to the Overcity, creating new safe zones, and possibly bringing the entire Overcity back from the brink of chaos.

Hallie and her big friend Florence are from an earth where magic is commonplace amongst humanity. From a young age, humans are taught the basics of magic, and go to witch or warlock academies to hone those skills. Technology is woven in with magic and has progressed in a very different direction, with a focus on trapping magic to power things instead of using electricity. Strange magical creatures also roam the lands, a product of the extreme amount of magical energy that flows into their world from the Overcity.
Hallie and Florence are the first true magical girls in their world, though many beings have become adept, including their school's headmistress. They both love the Overcity, as it gives them endless oppertunity to explore new places, they are both rather young and still infected by the exploration bug.

Sirocca is from a world that could be considered high fantasy. Her home is an idealistic medieval kingdom, where the level of technology is low, but the populace gets by well. The ruling elite of her family and the knights are born and raised upon the ethics that the people are the kingdom, and should be protected and respected. This leads to a much less pronounced class disagreement on her world.
Magic is known about, but not common, with scattered healers and hermits practicing low level spells. The Puchuu have had a presence on her world for generations, one disguising itself as an 'Oracle' that gives those pure of heart the power to complete their desires. Sirocca's ancestor used this magic to unite a kingdom broken by civil war, and reform it into her idealistic image.
Unfortunately the kingdom is once again plagued by war, this time against the creatures that are coming forth at an ever increasing rate from the rogue portals. This has caused Sirocca to seek out the Oracle to gain the power to lead her people to victory.

Molniya hails from the USSR of (Kinda) Red Alert 3. At war with the Allies and Empire of the Rising Sun and everything is wonderful (See: Awful).
Her USSR is the stereotyped "living hell", filled with political corruption, no regard for civilian life, famines (both intentional and not), purging, poverty, and most importantly propaganda.
She completely adores it and would pick it over the Overcity at any point, being brainwashed into the ideal worker for the union
