Ouchclaw leads you a short ways away, to a steel portal that greatly resembles the tree body portals of your lair. He takes a position out of view, and after a few minutes, the portal opens and from it a large alpha comes, bearing a metal food relic. He empties the relic into a nearby trash bin, and retreats back into the steel portal. Ouchclaw hops up, and begins inspecting the contents.

You leap up to the rim of the bin, but lacking the nimble feet of a not a dog, you fall in and are covered in food. That said, you have a taste and find it quite delicious. You begin eating as Ouchclaw does, and the two of you fill up shortly.
When you finally climb back out of the bin, it is full dark out, and you are exhausted.

You invite Ouchclaw to return to your lair with you. He thinks it over, as best as his tiny mind can, and agrees. With your nose, retracing your steps is trivial.
After a long walk, you are back at the barrier of twisted steel that protects your territory, and the two of you squeeze under it together. You approach the tree body portal from which you left, but the small iron portal is still sealed. You rear up and scratch at the wooden portal, the traditional ritual to summon the alphas who control its movement, and before long it opens, revealing all three of your alphas, who whine and lift you from the ground.
They are exited at first, but soon grow annoyed with your food covered fur. Before you know it, you are thrown into a mass of warm water for a cleansing ritual, washing away the scent of your travels, and leaving you fluffy and cold.
You realize only now that Ouchclaw didn't make it inside. You search the lair for him, but he is absent. You try the small iron portal, and find it open, allowing you to pass through. On the other side, Ouchclaw stands proudly atop the twisted steel barrier, gazing out at The Beyond

You tell Ouchclaw that he is part of your pack now, and that you will defend his right to live among you and yours. He seems concerned, but you merely reassure him that he will be safe and warm, and after a moment of gazing out at the night, he hops down and follows you inside.
You are spotted immediately by Shelly, who kneels to pet Ouchclaw. He is distrustful at first, but you let him know this is simply a ritual of bonding among dog. He remains passive, and allows her paws to stroke him, soon coming to enjoy the ritual.
To your surprise, Ouchclaw's presence is not detested, though you yourself would have found the idea disgusting only this morning. Before long, he is accepted as a member of the pack, beneath you but above the alpha male, who is useful only for breeding with the alpha female of the pack, as all dogs know.
Your days with Ouchclaw from then are filled with adventure and humping, and neither of you ever need travel The Beyond alone again.

That'll be a wrap, hope everyone had some fun! I certainly enjoyed writing this, not knowing at all what would happen. I'll probably keep doing oneshots in the future, or maybe longer runs if time permits, which it will not likely do.
