A Ghost Quarter is so much negative tempo for you while allowing me to cast Stirrings and Scrying without an egg or giving you life it's not even funny, your best bet is to beat my face in with a fat Pridemate by t3/4. A few of the very loudest, most obnoxious people were bitching about the fact that Siege Rhino just got slammed into Pod, and so Pod got the axe for the "design space" argument they occasionally drag out and ritualistically beat with shit like SFM. Nobody was bitching about Twin. The deck wasn't dominating, it didn't break the rules, and the ban came seemingly out of fucking nowhere. Anyone who didn't have their nose firmly planted in WotC's collective ass was left wondering what the hell Wizards was thinking, because the Twin ban doesn't make blue better.
Eldrazi, on the other hand? People have been muttering about this here and there since OGW got spoiled. There was a general realization, especially among older players and pros, that we already kinda had two Sol lands for that deck already, and that Legacy-style Eldrazi Stompy was going to be a thing. Even a few people on cardsellers' payrolls questioned whether the decision was intended to let Eldrazi flourish at the PT.
6/8-ing the Top 8 is only causing people to bandwagon behind something the smart players already knew: letting Eldrazi have 8 sol lands and then printing cheaper, more efficient Eldrazi was a horrible decision.

The wierd thing is that the bw eldrazi build that started the hype wasn't even played. That version and the other midrange versions could survive a eye ban which despite everyone's bitching I don't see happening before they ban the tron lands. The main reason it was so dominate is because it's new and people tried a completely new build of it that hasn't been seen before. And affinity still dominated like usual but no ban calls there.
