Thunder crashes around me, the smell of salt is heavy in the air. The sky is a light amber red, almost like blood left to mix with water. The sea is as black as ink, waves crashing around me in tune with the thunderclaps.
I'm alone, on a ship in the middle of the storm, the only noises coming from the sky and the see. And then wood flies out from under me, with a monstrous cracking roar as it's torn apart like a paper tossed in fire. Screams sound all around me as my vision starts to dark, crying and shrieking filling in the crashing of thunder and waves as I see a twisted smile form in the darkness, as I see my older brother appear for a second, his hand reaching towards me before.
*BANG*
"WAAAAAAAAAAKE UP, BRABRABRABRABRA!" Captain screams as I scream silently, sitting up in my cot, sweating and panting as I look around, confused as my heart races like a horse.
I try to find my breath as I see the captain's sharktoothed grin in the darkness of my room.
"Well, are you awake? Nightmare's should be an excuse to wake up early, not stay in, come, get up and dressed" Ginegine says, still grinning widely as I stare at him, half asleep and still out of my wits with surprise and terror "we've got some training to do, what better time to forge fiery wills and strong bodies than in THE BREAK OOOF DAWN!!!"
"OH PLEASE I'M SORRY I SLEPT IN THE BROOM CLOSEST!" Another voice cries out as the captain turns around and I See a marine chained to his back, his cap missing, probably cut in half or lost in the struggle to escape the captain's furious clutches "I SWEAR ON MY SOUL I WON'T DO IT AGAIN, JUST DON'T YET IT END LIKE THIS GOD, PLEASE"
I blink, my eyes slowly adjusting to the light out of my room, as I'm left alone, covered in ice cold sweat.

I see it from my own military experience and morning exercises aren't supposed to be strenous to the point of sweating so heavy you would need to shower for it, so you always shower before going there.
I groan, throwing my thick and rough white and blue blanket off of myself as I get out of bed yawning as I stumble over to the door and shut it for some privacy.
Rubbing the back of my neck I turn back to my bed, looking for my coffee. The cup is sitting next my bed, right ontop of my dresser. I smile as I grab it, draining the last bits of cold, kind of slimy coffee for a quick pick me up. I set the cup down with a sigh and open my dresser, grabbing a fresh set uniform out of it.
I frown, and walk back over to the door, throwing it open as I pull my hat over my eyes so I'm not blinded the lights in the hallway. I yawn again, and sleepily walk over to the showers, which my room is luckily quite close to, taking only a short walk for me to get to it.
and like usual, its empty, which I'm pretty sure means that the other marines have an early warning system for me coming down her or something. I sigh, and smile. Well maybe it's just because captain said we were going to be training and no one is awake around this time anyways.
I take my hat off and set it down on one of the worn down benches in the room, stretching and yawning for a moment before I take a look around. The only light in the room is coming a few small dust covered windows, and the walls are painted white white soap stains covering, the tiles are well...tiles and are either white or blue.
I stretch, and undress as fast as I can manage, setting my old clothes in a pile next to the bench as I set the fresh uniform on it.
With a stride I walk into one of the stalls, and fiddle with the valves and dials on it, the pipe holding up the faucet shaking for a moment with a sound like a dying wind, before a stream of warm water splashes down on my head, making my hair stick to my head as I grab a bar of soap and start to wash myself, trying to wake up the best I can before I head out for whatever hellish training the captain wants us to do today.
I smile, and start humming

Alright, the training field is at least a quick sprint away from where I am, and I slept yesterday, so I have more than enough energy to make it without breaking so much as a sweat if done right. I grin and start to run, adjusting my hat by its rim while I sprint through the halls, nearly running into another marine stumbling out of her room as I charge past her, a smile on my face.
There really isn't anything like running, that wind blowing through your hair and on your face, it just makes you know you're alive, and really, it's just good fun.
I turn down a hall, sliding on my feet as I press my hand on the ground so I don't go sliding down the next one. One quick breath, and I'm in another sprint, the only other one I need, the door to the training area is right in front of me.
Pulling hat down, I lean forward to reduce drag, nearly slamming right into the backs of two marines. And they're so kind to keep the door for me as they shriek in surprise as I dash past them
"Thaaaank you!" I Shout, waving behind me as my feet meet the concrete stairs, before I take a short leap off and run over the wet grass and
*THUNK*
"Oww?" I groan, rubbing my forehead, panting as I look up, and see the captain holding a massive tree branch like a sword, a white bandana tied around his head, and the marine tied to his back's one to.
He grins wickedly, and leans over me, his saw toothed nose nearly touching mine as he grins, and points towards the clock tower sticking out of the middle of the base
"You're" He begins to chuckle as he looks at it, his face freezing in shock as his jaw drops to the floor and he frowns "Early...you were barely awake and half way across the base...KNEW I WAS RIGHT IN PROMOTING YOU, BRABRABRABRA, always punctual aren't you?"
"No, I'm just a very good runner" I say, still trying to get my breath back "so what're we fixin to do"

"Ah, of course" I say nodding, jogging away from him as he stands proudly with the ban on his back wailing and weeping
It's a good thing I never sleep, otherwise I could've been playing the part of the banner today. I sigh and push the lid of my cap up so I can see easier.
Alright, well this shouldn't be too hard, the obstacle course isn't that long...unless Captain had free time on his hands.
I get to the first part, pieces of logs scattered around to simulate a broken ship or other crappy terrain. I nearly trip over my own legs as I try to stop myself from falling face first into the piles of mud and wood covering the stretch.
Someone else manages to catch up to me, and runs besides me. and judging from how he doesn't scream, he doesn't even look at even look at me.
Alright, next step, money bars. I groan as I get close to them and try to clumsily make my way through them. I hate these thing, it'd be better if they were on the ground or something, never really liked climbing at all, really.
I huff, slowing down as I somehow manage not to fall off of them, dropping down on the other side.

I put my hat back in place, and keep going, trying to control my breath so I don't wear out so fast. I grab the rope hanging from the side of a wall made out off logs, and start to climb up it, panting as I strain to pull myself up it, kicking at the wood as I force myself up it.
Rolling over the side of the stop, I fall to the ground with a thud. I struggle to stand up and lift my head out of the dirt as I hear people running past me. I growl and force myself up, I can't stay down I'm a marine, I..I just..just have to keep going. I groan, stumbling along as I try to not lose what little breath I have.
Now for the barb wire crawl, this is going to be fuun. No time to adjust my hat either. I bite my tongue and keep stepping forward, my head getting foggy as I hear my own heart beat and thump in my chest.
I get on the ground, and start to crawl forward as fast as I can, wincing as the barbed piece of metal stick and poke me. at least my cap doesn't come off. I wheeze and groan, but some how keep forcing myself to crawl forward through the mud, managing to get out of it just after someone who started after me.
I wipe my forehead, panting and breathing raggedly. and smile, there's...just one thing left, the balance log...thing. It's...a great thing that captain didn't..didn't add anything extra this time. I slowly walk forward, staring at my feet as quite few people run past me.
I try to walk as fast as my worn out legs can take me, getting on the log and stumbling over it, some how not falling off. Need something to drink, and there isn't any coffee out here. this isn't fair or good.
I step off the back and walk forward a bit, trying to catch my breath. One good thing about people seeing me as something that bumps in the night, is that I get a whole hell lot off breathing room.
I blink and pull my hat up, my chest aching and hurting. No one should run after waking up, god it feels like I just swallowed fire.

I step over to the end of the line, there's not enough room or bottles for me to start practicing yet, so it's best I just stay out of the way. of course one good thing about these drills, is people usually to focused on doing them to notice who I am and freak out about it, which is a nice break from things.
I pull my revolvers and flip them out of their holsters, shaking them with one strong jolt to get the bullets out. I reach down, picking the bullets up, and putting them back in the bag of them I keep on my side.
I take a deep breath, alright, now is the time. lets see if I can reload both of these girls with just one hand.
I toss one revolver into the air throwing the next up with it as I reach into the pouch, grabbing a hand full of bullets, counting them by running my fingers over them
I have just enough to fill both of them, I reach up with my hand fulls of bullets, and grab my revolvers, pushing a bullet with my thumb into both of the cylinders, and then trying to repeat it again and again.
I bite my lip as I stare at my hands, which start to shake harder with each bullet I get in without fumbling or messing up some where
I carry the last bullet up with my thumb and press it in.
I swing them apart from eachother, the cylinders slamming back into place as I grin happily. I did it! How'd I do that? Oh I need to right a letter home about this, they need to know about this! I'm AMAZING.
I giggle to myself and and flip my pistols back around, sticking them in their holsters as I turn to look if there's a space open, and I see most of them staring at me, with their jaws nearly touching the floors
"What?" I ask tilting my head as they freeze up and turn away, going back to shooting as fast as they can, except one girl...the only person in the base who I think is close to the captain's height.
A big girl, who looks likes she uses ships for weights, with long, and messy reddish brown hair sticking out of her cap.She almost kind of looks like a gorilla
