Something about the setting does stuff when other stuff happens. A lot of this stuff may or may not be physical.
Because Magic, except when it isn't
Yes and/or no.
Magic and/or no magic
It's okay OR it's not okay OR somewhere in between
Yes and/or no
Yes and/or no, and if so, yes and/or no

>Do female dwarves have beards?
>There is no single correct answer.
>Provide examples!
Example 1: YES, they do.
Example 2: NO, they don't.
Example 3: MAYBE, some do and some don't.
There, the topic has been bled dry, every possibility is accounted for and none of them are more valid than any other because it's fiction.
>>
>>44862128
>Can you elaborate?
Tax rates on evil magic is higher than good magic. Due to the high economic gain of necromancy to its practitioners (i.e. free, recycled labor), the lawmakers decided they wanted to levy higher taxes on necromancers to shore up the nation's coffers. Due to the way that the tax code is structured, it was easier to simply reclassify necromancy as evil than it was to just increase taxes on necromancers.

>Not into geese?
If they were geese, they'd be evil. Ducks, on the other hand, are true neutral, albeit assholes about it.

Well in my Homebrew.
Magic is from the Self. Anybody can use it with just a bit of training. Some other Games choose a Magical Plane, a God, or Nature as the source of Magic.
Necromancy is usually evil cause raising shambling corpses is pretty Disgusting. But I'd say a Character could use it to achieve immortality and find the cure for death, and spread it worldwide. I don't really like Good Characters who are fine with raising their once enemies, I'd only be willing to be among unread allies or innocents.
Some Games count Magic as a Drunk and non-witch burning Paladins can use it minorly and Berzerking Potions are fine. Stuff like Opium is out the window.
Then both affects are applied at once unless the're counter productive like Fire and Ice, or Dark and Light.
Elves think the're better than most races naturally but Slavery in Elf Culture is usually saved for Beast Races.
Some Clans shave their beards and legs, others don't. If they do it obviously won't be as hairy as a man's beard.
The're pure evil, seriously. They can be lawful, and a Demon Tamer could be reasonably, fight fire with fire good. But at the same time, if an angel can fall a demon can rise just make them devoted to once evil cause.
Lore wise it's an Orc-Elf, but I'd call it a Pale Orc for the Elf's skin.
No, they are souls. The're "Something" Incarnate, Pure "Somthing"
Fire or Holy Magic but my Onion Knight Based Character was quite proficient with a Garlic spiced sword.
Dragons have Four, Wyverns have two and two arm-like things.

>How does magic work?
Rituals, shenanigans, and inter-plane tomfoolery

>Why is necromancy evil?
Common misunderstanding of the fundamental principles behind necromancy leads people to believe that it's just another kind of resurrection. Keep in mind: a necromancer isn't bringing back the person who was killed. They aren't even just making an empty body move like a puppet. The corpse is infused with the raw essence of the negative energy plane, which drives it to shamble about, devour life, spread darkness, and otherwise oppose the positive energy plane's influence and all life in general. An undead horde could theoretically be used for manual labor and other normally beneficial things, but even if they aren't actively attacking people they're still causing harm to the very nature of life by being a direct conduit to the negative plane. And if the person controlling them ever dies or otherwise loses control, they'll go right on back to the devouring, darkening, and opposing as easy as the wind turns.

Even intelligent undead with the memories of their past life are not the same souls they were in life, unless extreme measures were taken to bind the soul such as with liches.

>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
I don't see why not. Is the paladin violating the spirit of his/her code in any way, due to the drugs?

>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
Depends on the setting and rulebooks. Usually, the enchanted item just gains the new enchantments and still keeps the old ones.

>What do elves think of slavery?
Depends entirely on the setting. This question is idiotic.

>Do female dwarves have beards?
Typically, yes. The joke about dwarves being the only ones who can tell male and female dwarves apart goes all the way back to the original D&D.

>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Technically speaking, no. Demons are literally made of the essence of evil and chaos.

Part 1/2
>>
>>44861898
>>44862327
>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Technically speaking, no. Demons are literally made of the essence of evil and chaos. Taking the evil out of a demon would be like taking the skeleton out of you. Unpleasant, weird, and generally leads to death.

>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
An abomination against decency. It's not directly stated, but I get the sneaking suspicion that humans just have magic DNA that lets them crossbreed with everything, and stuff like Elves and Orcs would normally be completely incapable of producing offspring with any other species were it not for humans being massive horndogs.

>Do elementals have souls?
They're elemental spirits. That's like asking if ghosts have souls.

>How do you kill a vampire?
Judicious application of fire and hate. To give you a singular answer, anything that prevents their blood from nourishing their body will do the job. Of course, that applies to pretty much anything, but the trick with vampires is to know the weird tricks that let you bypass their unnatural undeath bullshit.

>How many legs does a dragon have?
Going by the strict definition of legs as a specialized appendage used for walking and mobility, which excludes stuff like wings, heads, and tails... four. On average. Dragons with two legs are traditionally referred to as wyverns, though that's more of a recent thing. A dragon with six legs would be called something else entirely.
>>
>how does magic work
poorly
>why is necromancy evil
group democratic decision
>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
yes, unless he follows a god of not doing drugs.
>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
usually a goto 10 error.
>What do elves think of slavery?
unknown, their owners rarely have reason to ask
>Do female dwarves have beards?
yes, their location varies by ethnicity
>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
yes and yes, but demons are compelled to destroy good things, so they experience high suicide rates.
>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
by his name.
>Do elementals have souls?
most of them do, but I met this one fucker and I swear...
>How do you kill a vampire?
preferrably before he kills you.
>How many legs does a dragon have?
well last thread we decided a dragon was actually a unit of measurement (and was exactly one dragon big) so this is clearly a question about unit conversion, I assume there's a table for this somewhere.
>>
>>44862185
The what the hell is the point of the thread?
>>
>How magic works
Certain beings and environments have credence to act outside of the pre-established laws of reality. Mortal beings that enter into covenent with these powers are given the same power, though not to the same scale.
>Why is necromancy evil
Most cultures determine that the dead ought to be buried or otherwise disposed of with respectful spirit. Some tie the preperation of a cadaver to the state of the deceased's soul. No one wants grandma's corpse to be part of some devious sorcerers pet projects.
>Paladin doing drugs
Yes, they should be able to without falling immediately. But they should be held accountable for their actions while intoxicated/hight, and held to the expectation not to let addiction get in the way of their duties.
>Objects being enchanted twice
Both enchantments apply, unless the effects of said enchantments directly contradict each other. If so, I hope you were wearing armor when you put that item to use.
>What do elves think of slavery
Depends on the elf, there are plenty of them. Not even two of the same ethnicity/nationality may agree entirely. People are complicated.
>Female dwarves having beards
They can all grow beards, though typically not ones as full or as long as the men's. Some choose to shave regularly, for reasons ranging from fashion, religion, or integration into foreign cultures.
>Can a demon turn go-
NO. A demon, regardless of background, is negativity given sapience. They're more supernatural essence than physical substance, with abstractions like 'goodness' or 'holiness' being an anethema to them. An act of apparent beneficence on a demon's behalf is little more than an act of camouflage.
>Half-orc Half-Elf
Not viable, with millenia of myths, legends, and religious creeds from both races offering explanations beyond number as to why.
>Elementals having souls
It would be more accurate to say that they ARE a soul, one having been imprinted on by the elements of an area powerful in magic.

Carefully making the will of the individual tell the laws of the universe to sit on it.

>Why is necromancy evil?
Due to it increasing entropy its harmful, but ultimately neutral.

>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall? Up to when they gain immunity to poison, then it becomes a moot point.

>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?

Double the enchantment

>What do elves think of slavery?

Most likely against it, at least chattel slavery.

>Do female dwarves have beards?

Yes, they're called male dwarves.

>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?

No, due to them being the embodiment of evil.

>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?

A human.

>Do elementals have souls?

Yes as they can make independent decisions, however their soul is just a piece of their plane.

Four, those two leggers aren't dragons.

>How does magic work?

Not quite evil, it just always tends to cause issues when it's on a large scale or lasts too long. A little talking to dead love ones done by trained professionals isn't an issue. Just make sure It's someone who knows what they're doing instead of one of those con artists who forge their permits.
>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?

Yes.

As many as it wants. Anything that powerful and magical can shapeshift.
>>
>>44861898
Step 1: Remove good and evil from the universal-magical-forces axis, and return to pure law vs chaos axis of the original D&D, and the answers start becoming more easy

>Why is necromancy evil?
It isn't, it's just SO incredibly law aligned that it goes past being misinterpreted as good my mortals, and goes straight to being recognized as fundamentally alien to the mortal perspective
>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
Paladins are Law aligned, and most drugs are extremely chaotic, both in their moderate cosmic alignment, and in their impact on the mortal mind. However, some drugs, like Soma from Brave New World, would be fine.
>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
Old enchantment overrides the new enchantment, though the old enchantment can be used to empower the new enchantment, reducing the cost.
>What do elves think of slavery?
They are fairly law aligned most of the time, but not COSMICALLY law aligned, so they probably actually disapprove, but understand it as being necessary sometimes.
>Do female dwarves have beards?
Some do, just like some female humans have beards too.
>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
There is no good and evil. Demons are manifestations of chaos, which mortals misrepresent as their fabricated idea of evil.
>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
>Do elementals have souls?
No, they are manifestations of pure chaos
>How do you kill a vampire?
Many ways
>How many legs does a dragon have?
Dragon is not a species, but a Family. Ask about a specific species of dragon, and your answer will make more sense
>>
>>44861898
>Why is necromancy evil?

Undead are prone to going berserk and acting without the master's wishes, shambling dead bodies are highly unsanitary, it's considered exploitation of people incapable of legal consent, family's of the risen are not compensated for their dead loved one being used, the frightening appearance of undead is considered disturbing the peace, there are better ways to get better magical minions so most people who resort to necromancy are just being dicks or think it will make them immortal, retrieving bodies often calls for disturbing and/or breaking into church or state property.

So maybe not evil per-say. But generally it's considered a dick thing to do.
>>
>>44861898
>>How does magic work?
Its a massively complex thing that would require a PhD course to explain. In game terms, you use spell slots, or whatever other abstracted game element is used to represent spellcasting.
>>Why is necromancy evil?
Most of it isn't, its just that when it comes to the creation of abominations of unlife powered by the plane of anti life and destruction, you're committing a foul act of evil. Also, the spells require you to perform an evil act to create the undead.
>>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
Only if his Oath doesnt have a purity clause. Most have one, as a clear head free of addiction is needed to properly discern evil and to take an appropriate course of action.
>>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
You get more enchantment. Or a different one.
>>What do elves think of slavery?
Its a terrible act of evil abrogating the freedom of people. Or they dont care. It really depends on what elven nation you talk to.
>>Do female dwarves have beards?
No. They are based on Neanderthals and female neanderthals were as clean faced as human women.
>>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Yes, and yes. Just because its morality is more in line with good doesnt mean its physical makeup changes from being composed of evil.
>>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
Nothing as they dont exist.
>>Do elementals have souls?
No. They are accumulations of free roaming spirits that coalesce into a semi intelligent entity composed of an element.
>>How do you kill a vampire?
There are many ways to it, and it depends on type of vampire.
>>How many legs does a dragon have?
Depends on type of dragon.

Order and chaos by themselves are fine. However, this post is just needlessly arbitrary.

Drugs are not inherently chaotic. Consider the dystopian government that pumps its citizens full of sedatives and antidepressants to keep them placid and happy, or the drug pusher who keeps his clients addicted to keep them firmly under his control. No chaos in either of these situations, just heavily enforced order.

Necromancy is not inherently law aligned. Undead by themselves have no normal tendencies towards ordered settings or behavior, and are found alone as often as they're found in groups, alternately tearing down established governments and being the disposable minions of an evil empire with nary a care in the world. Unintelligent undead are nothing more than pawns or speedbumps. Intelligent undead are almost exclusively chaotic evil in all the sourcebooks, with the few lawful ones being those whose entire existence is due to meticulous planning, such as liches or a couple gods with the undead domain (the others being chaos). Not that I'm arguing that they're inherently chaotic, more that it depends on which undead we're talking about. By and large though, they tend more to cause indiscriminate havoc without leaving anything meaningful in its wake.

>Old enchantment overrides the new enchantment, though the old enchantment can be used to empower the new enchantment, reducing the cost.
This must be a houserule of yours, because I've never seen its like before.

>How does magic work?
However whoever wrote the setting deemed appropriate.

>Why is necromancy evil?
It isn't necessarily.

>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
Depends on balance, I'd recommend not driving though.

>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
Many things could happen, the only thing that's certain is the inevitable, slow increase of entropy.

>What do elves think of slavery?
Slave elves don't like it (mostly). Slave-owner elves like it (mostly). Other elves make parties and start civil wars to decide whether they like it or not, or just don't care.

>Do female dwarves have beards?
Have you ever had any close encounte with female humans?
Of course it's a rhetorical question

>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
If you think about it, if a demon turns good and doing so is no longer a demon, it has never turned good - it has turned into something else which is good.

>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
A figment of your stupid imagination.

Do you?
Another rhetorical question. Of course you don't.

>How does magic work?
Mana Particles = Radiation+Quantum. It interacts with energy, matter, and Willpower/Sentience/Sapience/Dreams.
>Why is necromancy evil?
Animating undead means having to program orders/commands into them. This, in proximity to magic/mana, will inevitably create intelligence/sapience. Meaning it is slavery. Same would apply to AI if they existed.
>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
There are many ways to command magic. Some groups find altered mental states allow them to better spellcast.
>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
Hopefully it doesn't get mana poisoning. Cuz that would be bad. In that it might melt, or more likely become a monster and kill you.
>What do elves think of slavery?
Up to individual elves, honestly. Slavery is old-world style in-setting.
>Do female dwarves have beards?
No.
>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Yes. No.
>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
Hobgoblin. No Orcs, only Goblins. Any half-goblin is a Hobgoblin.
>Do elementals have souls?
Yes.
>How do you kill a vampire?
Catastrophic physical damage oughta do it. Staking is good for paralyzing the bastard, and sunlight's good for de-powering them.
>How many legs does a dragon have?
Four.
>I DEMAND A SINGLE CORRECT ANSWER THAT APPLIES TO EVERYTHING!!
You're a faggot. That answers everything perfectly.
>>
>>44861898
>How does magic work?
Its all manipulation of energy in various ways. Arcane casters learn to manipulate raw energy, divines draw the effects and energy from a divine source, basically just acting as a conduit, and nature casters act as a conduit for natural energies.
>Why is necromancy evil?
Its not inherently but generally it is used for evil. Far fewer people will desecrate the dead for the good of others than will do so for greedy purposes.
>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
Yes. Why wouldn't they be able to? This is 5e, your dont have to be LG to remain a paladin. As long as you follow your Oath, you're alright.
>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
The previous enchantment fails unless you can find a way to intertwine the 2. Generally this means quite difficult checks but with the right knowledge and documents the checks for double enchanting can become easier.
>What do elves think of slavery?
Depends on the nation but by and large they abhor it. They will, however, generally not react to other nations or cultures enslaving people. In their opinion, its not their fight.
>Do female dwarves have beards?
Generally not but in some a genetic quirk shows that causes them to develop luscious mustaches.
>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Yes. Demon is a race, not an alignment. Generally speaking, such a demon will die unless it was summoned when it turned good. In that case, it will be prevented from returning and left to wander the earth until either it dies or it turns to evil again.
>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
Depends on which side of the genes show through. If they are more elfin, they are Half Elf. If they are Orc-like, Half Orc. Neither is a ''race'' really, simply a descriptive term.
>Do elementals have souls?
Non-Sapient Elemental beings, such as those walking lumps of rock that simply obey commands, do not. Sapient beings, such as Gargoyles or the ilk, do.
>>
>>44871020
>How do you kill a vampire?
Depends on the Vampires relative power. Massive physical damage generally works but, to be sure, one is advised to follow the standard steps. A truly diligent vampire hunter will behead the corpse, burn it, sprinkle it with holy water, leave it in the sun for a week, and finally bury it at a crossroads in 2 seperate urns (one for the head, one for the body) with each urn being wrapped with thick chains.
>How many legs does a dragon have?
They have 4 legs, 6 limbs. That is to say, fore-legs, back legs and 2 wings. Pretty simple.
>>
>>44861898
>Misdirection and legerdemain
>Because fuck you
>Yes, but he's no longer a winner
>One of the two takes it personally and leaves
>It's not slavery if it's a human
>Not where you'd expect them
>Yes, it just gets angry calls from its mother a lot
>Fuckface
>Yes, on their shoes
>Dental hygene
>That's ableist, bro
>>
>>44861898
>How does magic work?
Appease spirits and channel the source.
>Why is necromancy evil?
Demons that are ok with being bound to corpses generally don't do nice things.
>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
Many orders require regular use of hallucinogenics and/or psychoactives .
>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
You mean reforged? Generally the old enchantment stays, though it might be weakened depending on the craftsman. There is also of course the case of evil objects being purified and the opposite.
>What do elves think of slavery?
It's more useful to have food work for a while before eating it.
>Do female dwarves have beards?
No, like males they have bristles.
>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Demons are just a type of spirit, they don't really fit in our idea of good/evil, but some might be kinder than usual - so yes.
>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
Stillborn.
>Do elementals have souls?
No, since they're not even self-aware.
>How do you kill a vampire?
Well, you can banish the demon that causes it - or you can just grind the body until it stops moving (though it's still not dead in the later case)
>How many legs does a dragon have?
Six, and no wings. The latter is just symbolic imagery for ruling both sky and land.

>I DEMAND A SINGLE CORRECT ANSWER THAT APPLIES TO EVERYTHING!!
Asuras man.
>>
>>44861942
Fuck off, he gave you the perfect correct answer
>>
>>44861898

For my setting;
>Magic
Same forces that the Gods, Titans, and demons used to forge the world and mold it. Radiation is essentially 'mana'.
>Why is necromancy evil?
Necromancy is not bringing anyone back, it only gives dark emotions and swirling spirits a method of which to become physical, though they may be under control of the summoner until he dies or makes a mistake, in which case they can break loose and hurt people.
>Paladins
I don't use paladins.
>Object Enchanted twice
It becomes more powerful if the enchantment is the same, less powerful or not enchanted if its an opposite, and may become wacky and strange if enchanted with two totally different effects.
>Elves and Dwarves
Don't use them
>Turning a demon good
Demons are not necessarily evil. They are ancients that used to fly through space and were imprisoned in the sun because they radiate energy (UV) so the titans could seed life around the planets. So demons are not evil, but most of them hate living things because they were essentially enslaved and trapped for eons to make sure living things could live, basically.
>Elementals have souls
Elemental and Golems are the same thing. They do not have souls.
>Kill a vampire
By smashing and slicing it apart and magically blasting it until it stops moving. If you drag it into the sunlight it gets drawn back into the sun as a prison. Oh; and in my setting Demons and Vampires are basically the same thing. Demons feed on life blood like vampires do.
>How many legs does a dragon have
Between 0 and 4
>>
>>44861898

>How does magic work?
It doesn't - magic doesn't exist.

>Why is necromancy evil?
It isn't- necromancy doesn't exist.

>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
No - Paladins, intended as holy warriors actively blessed and guided by their patron deity, don't exist and thus can't do drugs.

>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
Objects can't be enchanted - see point 1.

>What do elves think of slavery?
They don't - they don't exist.

>Do female dwarves have beards?
It is possible, although rare.

>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
No. There' no such things as demons.

>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
A half-orc half-elf, if I really have to.

>Do elementals have souls?
No - they don't exist.

>How do you kill a vampire?
I can't - they've never existed to begin with.

>How many legs does a dragon have?
It depends. Which dragon?

>I DEMAND A SINGLE CORRECT ANSWER THAT APPLIES TO EVERYTHING!!
Your existance is a meaningless progression through trivial experiences, to some of which you will vainly cling in an attempt to give a sense and a direction to everything. Ultimately, your consciousness will extinguish with the death of your physical body, and you will be no more.
>>
>>44861898
Fuck am I supposed to know?
>>
>>44861898
In my setting? Let's start.

>How does magic work?
Altering reality by willpower and acceptance. The more subtle the effect the easier it is. Making Cold Iron, for example, requires taking a chunk of iron and hammering it in a slush of snow and ice until you basically go into a fugue state and come out of it with a complete weapon of cold iron, not really aware of the details of how you did it.
>Why is necromancy evil?
Knowledge of it comes from demons, torments the soul
>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
Beer and pipeweed, sure. But any addiction is a no-no.
>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
Second enchantment usually battles against the first, stronger one wins out. Magic items are often partially sapient so that's a pretty rough thing to do
>What do elves think of slavery?
How else are the lesser folks going to learn to be sapient beings if they aren't forcably exposed to superior Elven culture? Honestly, calling it slavery is a bit much, they're barely above cattle.
>Do female dwarves have beards?
Dwarves grow hair from everywhere except their arms and legs very quickly. They end up looking like hairballs with limbs pocking through by adulthood if they don't trim, which many don't. Gender doesn't matter.
>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Demon is their being, not their morality. Still, never been known to really happen.
>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
Stillnborn
>Do elementals have souls?
Nope, not even really sentient
>How do you kill a vampire?
Cold Iron
>How many legs does a dragon have?
2-100, depends on the species.

>>How does magic work?

>>Why is necromancy evil?
It subverts the natural order of the circle of life.
>>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
If your God is a party God then yes
>>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
You get both, unless they are the same then the strongest of the two.
>>What do elves think of slavery?
Been there done that. Genocide Drow is the cool thing now.
>>Do female dwarves have beards?
Yes, between their legs
>>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Morally good, yes, its still a demon. However the argument can be made demons are physical manifestations of evil, so no.
>>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
That, assuming the Remaining half is Human.
>>Do elementals have souls?
They are physical manifestations of elemental energy, so no.
>>How do you kill a vampire?
Basically if it kills a human it kills a vampire
>>How many legs does a dragon have?
As many as it wants

I demand you slobble on my knob

Carefully.
Four.

>All present particles that exist on the same level as the soul. A powerfull enough soul can affect them according to different formulas or instinct and use magic.
>Necromancy is forcefully tearing back souls from their peaceful rest and cycle of reincarnation
>A Paladin as in a martial servant of a God or Paladin as in Palace-Knight who is basically a Judge trained in knightly combat, either way as long as the drugs don't affect their duties or the rest of society in any way then it's okay unless explicitly forbidden by the deity.
>The enchantment breaks as an interference occurs. Enchantments are weaved into objects like a net that becomes a part of their structure so adding another one without knowing the structure of the first is imposible and even if you know the first enchantment you have to still expend extra effort to properly make it.
>Elves love freedom and hate slavery because of that.
>Female dwarves don't have beards.
>Demons are just another form of evil spirits thus if their personality changes they can stop being evil but also stop being demons as well.
>Half-orcs and Half-elves can not interbreed.
>Elementals are powerful souls who have taken control over a magically created natural element.
>Vampires can be killed by being burned into ash, exposed to sunlight or by piercing their hearts that for some reason holds the magic that grants them their power.
>A dragon is a sapient shape-shifting magic using reptilian beast. It can have 2, 4 , 6 or more appendages depending on base form of the species and the shape they them selves consciously choose.

>>44861898

1.) No one knows, magic is a black box that defies reality as we understand it.

2.) The undead are magnets for bad luck due to the consistent way they profane life. They cause disease, accidents, and in larger scales natural disasters.

3.) It depends on the order. Some gods commune while a paladin is intoxicated.

4.) It usually explodes.

5.) Depends on the elves. Most only enslave criminals or non-elves at most.

6.) No, and asking a dwarf this will offend them deeply.

7.) No, demons aren't evil or good to begin with, just wild spirits that obey only their own whims with no concern for others.

8.) Impossible.

9.) Elementals are a type of demon, so yes.

10.) Stake it through the heart, decapitate it, stuff it's mouth with garlic, burn the body and scatter the ashes at a crossroads.

11.) Two legs, two wings. Reports of four legged dragon's are unsubstantiated.

>>How does magic work?
Vague natural force that can be manpulated by will.
>>Why is necromancy evil?
Most of it isnt. Some of it is evil because it upsets the natural order of things. Some of it is because a corpse cant consent.
>>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
Depends on the drugs and what they're thier edicts.
>>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
Depends on the enchantment.

>How does magic work?
According to humans, it's simply manipulation of probability in the universe by using mathemagical formulae and rituals (the scientific approach)
According to the fae, it's tapping into a well of pure potential to change the universe (the magical approach)
>Why is necromancy evil?
It's not inherently evil, but for every death undone, some other being that's alive must die
>Can a paladin do drugs and not fall?
Paladins aren't really a thing
>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
Then it's enchanted twice, though if the two enchantments do the same thing, the stronger enchantment takes precedence
>What do elves think of slavery?
Depends on the individual, most are for enslaving of humans
>Do female dwarves have beards?
No, and male dwarves only have short-ish beards (they're more like dark elves than dwarves anyways)
>Can a demon ever turn good, and if so, is it still a demon?
Demons aren't a thing, evil fae on the other hand do exist and yes they can "turn good" and yes they'd still be fae
>What you you call a half-orc-half-elf?
Orcs aren't a thing, only dwarves (aka dark elves), light elves, animated magic robots, and humans
>Do elementals have souls?
Not really, they're barely sentient as it is, being pieces of pure elemental power brought to "life" for a short duration by magic
>How do you kill a vampire?
Sunlight to weaken them followed by complete dismemberment, driving a stake through the body to done only keep the vampire in place long enough for dismemberment
>How many legs does a dragon have?
0, 2 or 4 depending on the variety, but all dragons are fae creatures and shapeshifters so it really doesn't matter
>>
>>44861898

In my setting magic is powered by radiation, most commonly the world's magnetic field.
>>Why is necromancy evil?
It's powered by plutonium and other heavy elements, making it deadly to anybody nearby.

Sure, why not.
>>What happens if an object is enchanted twice?
The enchantments stack.
>>What do elves think of slavery?
Elves?

Dwarves?

Yes and yes.

Bad fiction.

They are souls.

You don't. You send them to rehab instead.

Anywhere from four to 10, depending on who made it.
