Let's say you have a young daughter:

What /tg/girls would you consider to be positive rolemodels, or at the very least cool ladies, for her?

pic obviously not related

None because traditional gaming is a toxic, misogynistic culture full of pissbaby shitlords who hate women.

Elspeth?
>>
I do have a young daughter, but so far she's only taken a shine to fantasy movies. Not sure of any sort of books she might enjoy if I get for her to read.

Oh and she thought a 40k living saint was cool but I don't want her going down that path due to not being made of money.
>>
>>44852454
You can appreciate the universe without buying the models.
Which is honestly what I like to think /tg/ mostly does, what with its eternal bitching about GW and all.

Not too sure, to be honest. There isn't a lot of explicitly /tg/ content which features a significant number of characters of either gender with much personality. And most of those who do have it aren't really good role models period. What am I going to do, show my hypothetical daughter a bunch of Macha threads and be all "this is who you should be like"?

I don't play Wizard Poker, so anything from MtG goes over my head.

To be frank, if I wanted to introduce a young girl to genre fiction characters who are positive role models, I wouldn't be looking to /tg/girls. I'd point her towards characters from other media, like Belle or Princess Leia or Eowynn.

Yeah, you could do a hell of a lot worse than Eowyn. In the books, a lot of the female characters from LotR and associated lore are actually pretty cool, once they get mentioned beyond "Hobo's girlfriend" or "crazy elf chick".
>>
>>44851336
Joan of Arc from Infinity. Badass with a sword, leading a multi-planet corporation's military forces.

Plenty of good role models there, male and female.

What are you thinking? Weatherwax? Cheery? Angua?

Female scientists. Science is the only thing that continuously achieved sth positive for all humans. Doing science is doing good and there is not enough aknowledgement in society for female scientists.
>>
>>44859886
Female scientists or their equivalent should exist in most Pen&Paper RPGs btw.

Unfortunately as my wife believes Konrad Curze was an unappreciated genius who did nothing wrong, I suspect the daughter I haven't had yet will probably grow up to be a serial killer.

That's the problem with the industry. I have a hard enough time just finding women I can identify with other than a few descent characters like Dezra the Vile. Good luck finding a nice clean girl for your daughter. All anyone knows how to make are hyper sexualized/violent women, especially villains. Otherwise they're at the opposite end of the spectrum and puritanical ultra submissive Disney princesses.

Arla's angels are devout to the cause, and I'd rather have someone who believes in something than a child that doesn't care about anything.
>>

From traditional games per se? Erm... Most cygnar and llalese female casters like Mjr. Haley or Ashlynn d'Elyse.

From fictional fantasy/sci-fi universes, on the other hand:
Hermione from Harry Potter
Ewilan from Ewwilan's Quest (very good fantasy book for teens)
Laureline from Valerian and Laureline (the comic, not the cartoon)
Podkayne from Podkayne of Mars (might want to use the revised ending, though)
Susan Calvin from the Robots cycle
>>
>>44874672
>Ewilan
Hol up fampai, I remember Ewilan being kind of a bitch and Salim being maximum bro-tier.
Ellana is the role model strong womyn who don't need no bestswordsmanoftheempire
>>
>>44874764
I think Ewilan might be a better model for a young girl since she's a teen and not a mature woman like Ellana. Probably easier to identify with.
Or you can have young Ellana in the Marchombre books, but those are a bit inferior to the original cycle IMO.
Nonetheless, there is no doubt that Salim is the broest of bros.
>>
>>44851336
Honestly Liliana. I'd want my daughter to know that she, as a woman, has strengths and weaknesses to her gender, and she has certain persuasive abilities unique to her sex. Lili is a manipulative, cold bitch who's obviously comfortable in her own skin and that's what I want my daughter to be. Compassion for other people will kinda have to be taught.
>>
>>44876382
Would you really like for your little girl to get skanky tattoos and sleep with dipshits on the tier of Jace?
>>
>>44876382
You are a monster and your daughter would end up a better person than you even if you succeeded.
>>
>>44851336
My wife, because real people should be role models not fictional characters in fictional situations.
>>
>>44876382
>>44877116

Friend from high school recently knocked up his girlfriend and they named their kid after this character.

I didn't think much of it because I know nothing about Magic but seeing how everyone here sees Liliana as some kind of powerslut it seems like a really odd choice.
>>
>>44880220
Liliana is a nice name though.
>>
>>44860042
He wasn't a genius and he did do some wrong, but overall he wasn't that bad. /tg/ and pretty much the whole Internet nowadays hates edge/edgy (which I feel is a misnomer) but I honestly like the "edgy" character sometimes, especially curze.
>>
>>44867229
Do you not?
More accurately, do you want her to be wrong?

If fantasy/sci-fi is on the table, I'd suggest Hester Shaw from pic related.
Like she's morally conflicted and can be a pretty massive jackass at times but she's one of the few female protagonists in YA SF/Fantasy who's unambiguously ugly (due to scarring but still).
Goes to show that beauty isn't required to get shit done and all that
>>
>>44855793

Kill yourselves

But Hester is a self-admitted horrible person.
She kicks ass, but she is by no means a moral authority.

Jace is only a snarky asshole in flavortext. In all other flavor, he's a robot who decided to live on Ravnica mostly because it has coffee and is relatively comfortable compared to, say, Grixis
They made a card out of his basement-dwelling for God's sakes.
>>
>>44863727
do you not want you children to be like you? to share interests and learn and grow together?

are you one of those weirdos who wants their daughter to grow up to be your perfect fantasy girl that you secretly want to fuck?
