Trying to think up an A+++ TIER Noble phantasm for a servant who uses two swords, any ideas? I wanted somthing more along the lines of an anti unit (self) np. Possibly some form of damage and speed enhancing armor.

Any ideas or tips?
>>
Jumpers. I must ask: what form of horcrux do you have? I know I'm not the only one who took that perk.

And not necessarily a horcrux, but any method of preventing your death along those lines.
>>
>>44845144
Could of Sworn it was an Item. Also, it's a Camera.
>>
>>44845144
I took that perk with my first build.

I actually don't have anything like that, I'm not much for contingencies.
>>
>>44845030
Have you ever waited until a villain's Evil Plan was at its climax to reveal all the secret dealings? As in, right after it worked and they were about to start gloating?

VENGEANCE FOR PENNY
>>
>>44845090
Why not something like a passive magic resistance sword with a sister sword that increases the users parameters and magic to a certain degree. Or maybe excalibur copy that uses the energy of whatever it cuts to fuel it's self.
>>
>>44845144
Last Bug Standing from Nightmare Before Christmas combined with Personified Cells from Mighty Boosh and Spirit of a Nation from Civ. Last Bug Standing means that as long as one of the bugs that makes me up survive, I do, but if they remain separate from my main hive for too long they lose contact and stop being part of me. Personified Cells means that my biology is in some sense intelligent, conscious, and obedient to me. Spirit of a Nation means that my followers (which thanks to Personified Cells includes my own body parts) always count as if I were right next to them. So I can just drop some bugs off somewhere as insurance. Combine it with Anomalous Physiology from SCP Foundation so that you have to kill every cell of my body to count as me being truly dead, Sustenance from DC so I need no resources to stay alive, and Alexandria Package so that only physical damage can actually harm me, and I can blend myself into a fine mist and disperse it over the entire world, regenerating an intact body from any of the remaining cells whenever the current one dies.

No I think the best thing is to completely wash the master mind out before they set up kekaku central.

>>
>>44845517
Ah my magic resistance is already rank A in this build but its not a bad idea with the energy stealing sword part. Thanks
>>
So would buying a reality marble as your noble phatasm stifle it's growth. I'm talking about it not being able to grow stronger over time or does it make no difference?

The Backup from Futurama. I put a portal around it so it's actually sitting somewhere safe and if I'm damaged enough to die the comparatively more fragile portal will die before anything gets through it, meaning I die, the backup is no longer connected and is automatically plugged into a new body.
>>
>>44845090
You could always go with the old Contradiction legend. One sword can cut through anything, the other one can deflect any attack.
>>
>>44845826
Just don't try to hit them together in a world with Zeus in charge or he'll turn you to stone to resolve the paradox. Or maybe just the swords, still, don't take the risk.
>>
>>44845826
That's firmly in EX rank for a combo like that.
>>
>>44845144
I used a large diamond for my Horcux. Because shiny.

There's also fucktons of regen, and miniaturised portal generators used as cybernetics, through those, I extend more biomass into alternate universes, and branch out further from there. Even if I get completely disintegrated by something, there's a really good chance some far-flung part of me survived.

...So yeah, somewhere along the line I kinda became a discount Worm Entity.
>>
>>44846049
What do you use to get your biomass into other dimensions? There's a couple of dimensional teleports but we're sorely lacking in dimensional portals.
>>
>>44845603
I think buying a noble phantasm makes it a set thing I don't think they grow in strength so if just the reality marble Is gotten then it can grow over time and research.
>>
>>44846165
Dimensional Breach Controllers from Worm, and a magitech'd version of Shadow Ops' Portamancy.
>>
>>44846165
>>44846281
Eliatropes can also pull this off, though it's hard.
>>
>>44846474
Could an Eliatrope open up a portal inside of someone?
>>
>>44846541
Nope. If they could've done it, then Quilby no doubt would have.
>>
>>44846541
I don't think they can, or if they can it isn't worth the effort. Quilby is pretty top tier Eliatrope and when he was absolutely positively trying to kill people he went with beamspam instead of telefrags.

Slightly related, if you use Doormaker or the Dimensional Breach Controller to open a portal can you 'attach' it to something? Like make a portal in a plane and then fly around with the portal staying in the same spot in the plane, or is it stationary?
>>
If I wanted to make a Noble Phantasm with the abilities of the Hero of a Thousand Faces, what would the rank be?
>>
>>44847084
Going by their canon equivalents, Doormaker can make moving portals, Dimensional Breech Controller can't.
>>
>>44847110

>>44847117
I'd say both can make moving portals, since all motion is relative. It's just that Doormaker's usage of portals has an alien clarktech computer doing much more of the heavy lifting (technically, two alien clarktech computers - Doormaker worked in synergy with Clairvoyant). Whereas with the DBC you've got a learning curve to tackle (as is mentioned in the item description).

That's not love! It's obsession, it's possessiveness, it's lust and greed and even a little bit of despair!

>>
>>44848212
That isn't love. What you're talking about is literally greed - a dragon's feeling towards its horde. "I want it, it's mine, and nothing will ever take it from me." Just an emotional Fafnir, sitting on a pile of people.

It's love. A dragon doesn't need his gold. He doesn't care for his gold's feelings, well-being, and happiness. I care for my companions. I go to any ends to make them happy, and welcome, and safe. I simply cannot let them go. That's all.

I go to any ends to make sure that they are happy with me. That's why so few of my companions have actually seen this side of me, only the ones involved in a select few jumps like Deadman, where it had to come out.

In light of the conversation, what perks are there to aid in keeping your companions around?

Are there perks to convince more moral companions to stay as you do immoral things?

Perks to get companions to forgive you for doing something they would never forgive?

Quick question: would EX be the correct rank for a Noble Phantasm that can transform into any items (simple weapons or armor, mostly; it can't transform into firearms or vehicles or anything) at any size as long as the total mass of the items doesn't exceed 1000 times that of the wielder?
>>
>>44849392
Sounds about right.
>>
>>44849392
I don't think you would need EX for that, but I also don't think it would be cheap.
>>
>>44849392
It seems fine for EX given the immense versatility and how much material you'd have even as a human, not to mention I assume you'd be wanting it to instantly change forms. Just put a limit on how big it can get, even with the mass, and it should work for that rank. The actual weapons and armour you make won't count as more then E or D rank by themselves at best, but given that even the average human will have 70 tons of it to work with, I'm sure it's not a major issue.

>>44849616

Either that or just have it be anti-army for simplicity's sake. Anti classifications only really come up when it's "Anti-creature type' wherein it deals more damage anyway.

>>44849814
Far as I'm aware, Reality Marbles don't grow by themselves, people just get more used to controlling them. The ones that have grown stronger generally belong to Dead Apostle Ancestors, who both get a boost due to being what they are and also experiment on themselves. So no, buying an NP RM doesn't stifle it's growth because there is no natural growth and you can decide to experiment on it yourself if desired, though you'll need to find a way to do so.

I'm fairly early so my death dodging is fairly limited. So far I've just got regeneration nanomachines from GUNNM, a few jumps of Karma Chameleon mutations (also GUNNM), UG Cells, and Black Blood. Sadly the use of most of my active Madness stuff interferes with the GUNNM nanomachines (Desty mutters something about inconsistent physics), so when I get serious I've only got the UG Cells and Black Blood for healing, although that usually involves shifting Jormangandr (my demonic Black Blood Mind Worms), into a fully active state, which tends to get ugly for my surroundings.

How would that even work KOTOR? SW Rebels takes place within a few years before the Battle of Yavin. I think that OT should cover Rebels & the movies. Also split the canons up again between Legacy & Disney.
>>

Personally I don't care, It can easily be explained away as alternate universes. However I know that would set a bad precedent so instead he should make something set during the EU.
>>
>>44851969
There's always SW Legacy. Dealing with 100 years or so in the future from Episode VI. The solo lineage is about dead, as is the Skywalkers. The last Skywalker is a druggie bounty hunter that gets high to drown out the force ghosts of his ancestors. Who literally nag him everyday. Then you have the new Sith, and Fel Empire. New Republic has fallen, and it's literally only one fleet now. Fel Empire is basically Galactic Empire v2, but on the Lightside of the Force this time. Aliens aren't decriminated against, and can actually be Storm Troopers.

Yet interesting enough the Sith Order of One is most speciesisally diverse. With just one human, and bunch of other species. Compared to mostly human Fel Empire. Even if the Sith genocided the Mon Calimarians. IT WAS A TRAP!

Actually is it just me or does it seem like being a jumper would make this whole birthday thing really confusing after a while.

For example would you go with your first birthday, or your most recent birthday, or all of them (thus 'forcing' sufficiently old jumpers to spends their entire time in an endless recursion of birthday parties).

In Sims 3 can you earn Lifetime Rewards during the Jump? I mainly ask because if you're not an Occult being a Witch who can cast without a wand costs 700CP. If you can't, what perks would let you cast Sims magic wandless? I think I remember it being ruled you can't use the Sims one to cast Harry Potter magic wandlessly, but does the reverse apply? Is there any other way to learn to not need a wand for Sims 3 spells?
>>
>>44852901
Personnally I count my age in 'cycles', each cycle equals a 10 years period which is the standard in jump length but that measurement only count the jump years, not the origins, i keep a separate calendar for that.
>>
>>44854432
I'm 90% certain this has been answered yes, but if it was the jump name wasn't mentioned, 'cause I can't find it in the archive. Failing that the main arguments against Sims 3 wandless magic alternate between 100CP in Sims 3 != 600 CP in HP, and the fact that it is specifically phrased as an upgrade to the witch perk, reather then a perk itself, so the other way around probably wouldn't get any shit since neither of those apply.
>>
Jumpers once your travels are over and done do you bring your companions back home with you to your original dimension or do you part ways and visit them from time to time? How do you explain them and any waifus to your family?
>>
>>44854719
When all is said and done I'd like to think I'll ask each of my remaining Companions whether they want to stay or go. If they want to stay with me, then I'll gladly accommodate them. Introduce them to the old family, that sort of thing. If they want to go? I'll ask where, and then drop them off.

Perhaps hold a bit of a family reunion. After the initial "getting affairs in order" thing, I'd probably do my own thing. If there's one thing I hope I'll have learned by the end of it all, it's how to let go of the past once it stops being relevant.
>>
>>44848021
So how does it work if you have Softcap and thus infinite potential?
>>
>>44854719
In all honesty I probably wouldn't go home. If I make it all the way through and survive an end jump I'll have lived for eons, had thousands of different families, and made a fuckload of tight friends...

What does this boring world have to offer, at that point?
>>
>>44854804
Teigu are powerful but don't have unlimited potential, so I imagine at that point you'd hit the Teigu's buff cap.
>>
>>44854835
Closure. I'm sure there was something left unsaid when you left home. Something you truly felt and only after this great journey will you be able to truly express.

That, and you left the oven on.
>>
>>44854626
I'm not trying to apply Sims wandless magic to Harry Potter, I'm wondering if Harry Potter's 'you don't need a wand to cast magic applies to other forms of wandless magic. As you said it's a 600CP capstone, so I think it should, but don't know if it does. Or did you mean you're 90% sure this does work?

Failing that any other way to cast Sims magic without a wand would be great.
>>
>>44854867
>>44854804

Expanding on this: when pushed to their limits, Teigu seem to do weird shit like overheat, exhaust themselves, or in the case of one particular example, attempt to combine with and eat the wielder.
So you'd probably end up either hitting some designated "safety cap" where it could operate without damaging itself, or you'd get a massive power boost for a few seconds just before your Teigu imploded.
>>
Question for you guys (and sorry if this has been asked before, I'm pretty new to Jumpchain):

How do you avoid getting too overpowered? I mean, as a Jumper you're presumably aware of the options available to you so it's kind of hard to justify not going for the most powerful choices.

Example: You do a utility jump to start up (maybe Harry Potter), hop into MCU and become a tank proof mach-speed Asgardian for dem base physicals, go into Tower of God and spend a few thousand years grinding Shinsoo Control as an Irregular, maybe grab a Power Ring from DC, hit up Hellsing and become a Vamp just 'cos, go into Worm and grab that Perfect Social perk + some random OP power...

And then before you know it, you're less than ten jumps into a chain and there's only a few settings left where you'd experience any kind of risk.
>>
>>44855005
Typically people don't avoid it. Even if you don't avoid it though drawbacks often scale to you so there is risk. Though many people tend to view how much power they get from various options differently, such that two people even with the same builds for the same jumps likely consider themselves to be at different levels of power.
>>
>>44855005
So...you go for high power jumps, spend millenia grinding your power, and then get surprised when you're strong? You're a bit dim huh?
>>
>>44854916
The 90% was on being able to get lifetime achievements in jump.
I brought up the reasons why sims getting rid of the requirement in HP got shit as a way to demonstrate why doing it the other way around wouldn't, and said as much.
>>
>>44855005
You usually don't. There are items to hold back your power, you get a couple for free from Monster Hunter and Digimon, available in the imaged jumps folder. There's also a locket in Girl Genius with customized power blockage. If push comes to shove there are drawbacks and jumps that make most high-power jumpers completely shit their pants

There's also maybe that you stop looking for threats and start looking for projects.
>>
>>44855005

>Tower of God and spend a few thousand years grinding Shinsoo Control as an Irregular

Are you seriously surprised that you would be overpowered after thousands of years of training?

>

And then before you know it, you're less than ten jumps into a chain and there's only a few settings left where you'd experience any kind of risk.

This isn't really a valid argument when one of those ten jumps has you there for the same amount of time as hundreds of normal jumps.
>>
>>44855043
Ah, ok then. I had hoped the Harry Potter perk being just a natural ability to do spells without a wand might let it apply to other forms of wanded magic in the way that other some other magic buffs apply to multiple types of magic.

If Lifetime Rewards are in the jump then I'm fine, I can put all my points towards just that, but if they're not I'll need some other way.

Does anyone know any perks that let you cast spells without a focus (wands in particular of course) that aren't tied to their jumps magic system like it seems these two are?
>>
>>44855081

No clue, but I really recommend just spending the extra 100 cp if you take witch.

While useful a lot of spells have problematic side effects if you miscast and/or your spell fails, and the extra 100 cp prevents that.

If I remember correctly there's even at least one spell that will kill you if you miscast it.
>>

What does caliburn and excalibur in fate actually do? Ive seen mention that they are powerful enough to take 7 lives off berserker in one go as anti unit weapons but no mention of how they do that as A++ weapons.

How powerful would an A+++ weapon that does the same (no idea what they actually do other than cut stuff) be?
>>
>>44855237
And you never decided to just look up a video of what they do given they're the most known nps in the show and get used multiple times?
>>
>>44855169
I'm not going Witch, since it costs so much if you're not an Occult. I intend to train Alchemy enough to make the elixir but that seems to mean I can't do the spells wandlessly ever.

The only mention I can find of Lifetime Happiness is someone saying Stupid_Dog has said they aren't a thing multiple times on IRC, that person getting called out by people saying if there's no thread record they don't believe that person, and zero input from the jumpmaker.

I guess that means I just have to put up with the risk of them backfiring, and having to carry the wand around if I want to use those spells at all.
>>
>>44855218
Nobody is. Go for it.

>>44855237
They shoot super special energy blasts. That's it, really. Excalibur is kind of a mary sue; even though it's only A++ it has unique metaphysical properties that make it more beautiful than other Noble Phantasms, and allegedly has a super mode to let it overpower threats to the planet or something.

So basically-Excalibur is a superweapon made by fairies. And Caliburn is a less powerful superweapon that is also a metaphor for Arturia's right to rule.

And probably not significantly more, to be honest. Maybe it's more energy efficient, maybe it has a favored enemy type against which it's more effective. I think Val's ruling you can't have NPs with Excalibur's super speshul OP mode, so it just does what it says on the tin.
>>
>>44855275
To clarify-Excaliblasts are fine, the whole "when the planet is in danger this sword can cleave things that can threaten Types in half" thing is the part that's not.
>>
>>44855218
Also, I've been told the writer is a bit of an SJW. Now, don't get me wrong, we have Twilight and Johnny Test and Ranma 1/2 as jumps so I'm accustomed to narrative unpleasantness but...just how bad is it?
>>
>>44855263
I did. What I mean is I dont understand how they actually work other apparently shooting a localized laser beam that makes stuff blow up or handwaving it just cuts that good. I dont understand the mechanic behind it. Im not talking the antifortress mass beam attack saber does I mean the anti unit one.
>>
>>44855275
>>44855283
Well darn, guess Im back to a pair of swords that can cut through anything and when crossed projects a small shield in front of me. Not sure if its an a+++, swems lackluster but I got no better ideas.
>>
Alright, I just finished the series, and I gotta ask:

In Soul Eater, did anyone actually mess around with Excalibur? Anyone actually use him?
>>
>>44855266

I'm not completely sure, and it would take a while, but this seems like it might kind of sort of work.

Step 1. Learn how to make a wand. I'm assuming this would be included in becoming a witch otherwise becoming one is useless.
Step 2. Get one of those magitech perks and a magic to tech conversion perk, and use them to make a cybernetic implant that acts as a wand.
Step 3. Get that perk from G.I. Joe that lets you make biotech.
Step 4. Get Reshaping or Crystal Working from Geneforge, or another perk that lets you modify your biology and modify yourself to have the bio-wand as part of your biology.
>>
>The background of the first part of the song Ec Tisia is intended to be a cross-world summoning circle, and the last line in one of the Ar Tonelico OST disks translates to someone (presumably the wills) sending you back home.
>These same circles are present in most of the Harmonics and thus the other parts of the song.
Neat. So if you've heard any part of the song Ec Tisia then you can claim to have already visited Sol Ciel when you get there. Don't even need to have played Nosurge (which is way more explicit) to make the claim.

Wonder if the Wills will realize it's you once they're healed. If so and you helped save the world they'd probably be very happy that you presumably got the message of the song.

Not bad at all. The first chapters come across as kind of preachy, but they're also from the perspective of a paladin of the Feminism & War & Justice god (who was also literally raised in a nunnery). She proceeds to get absolutely shat on for her uncompromising and unnuanced viewpoint.

There's a metric fucktonne of viewpoint characters, one of whom is a scarily likable rapist.

Aside from all that, it's really well written, has very well developed characters and worldbuilding, is long and updates multiple times a week.

Good shit.

>>
>>44855400
Well I hadn't planned any conceptual cutting or any of that crazyness but maybe an anime style cut the laser beam in half to make it go to each side of me or cut through thick armor stuff. I have a hard time with scaling on these kinds of things so Im not sure whats too much and whats not enough.
>>
>>44855411
I dont think so? Besides anything was a bad choice of words, I mean can cut things of a lower rank.
>>
>>44855369

In the manga he actually does get used, I think...? Pretty sure he doesn't even require a favor -- it's sortof a "this battle is important enough and you'll get your ass kicked if I don't help you" sortof deal. Apparently he's able to whip out slicing blasts, cut through dimensions, and allows his wielder to fly and move super quickly.
...
That's just what I heard, though. Cannot actually confirm, I don't know shit about Soul Eater, DESU.
Although I do know that the anime and manga diverge and end up going in different directions.
I think you can just decide what canon you're following in the jump, if that matters.

>>44855400
It's not a pod, it's a retained drawback. I don't actually have any pods.
Sometimes this makes me sad. But I'm the sortof person who would go crazy trying to decide what to use them on, so it's honestly better if I don't have them.
Not that I need them for Excalibur.

...
Also, no, I've never wielded him. I tend to mostly ignore him, actually.
Although I do provide him coffee every morning. With cream, just the way he likes it.
>>
>>44855421
This is getting kind of into spoiler territory, but the gods are... really fucked up. They were literally random people who lucked out in some mysterious way and got cosmic power with a bunch of restrictions that pretty much make them miserable.

Avei (god of War, Justice, and Women (not exactly feminism, sorry)) got her domains literally because she was a female soldier in a time when that was super uncommon. That's it.

It put me off when I started reading it too, but since a mate of mine (who I know has good taste) rec'd it I decided to just push through. Totally worth it.

It depends on which ones. Some of them have their own lives to live, and loose ends to tie up.

Elodie is, after all, the rightful heir to Nova's throne. So she'll be off to kickstart an age of enlightenment and acceptance and other things we'd feel uneasy about if there wasn't trust between us. And Elune has her position as Azeroth's resident Nice Deity to fulfil. Malefor and Sinha have been talking about settling down to open an interdimensional library post-Spark, write a biopic of the good times and the bad.

Others started this journey with us because they never had a place to belong. Yurko, for example, would only come back to spit on the Empire's ashes. Yion wants to create a world of her own to call home. Orochimaru wants to keep travelling and splicing, and Jibril only wants to spread word to her race that we're in the market for angellic mercenaries of all stripes before we continue travelling.

As for us-yes and no. A simulacrum of who we were before all this will live out the rest of his natural lifespan and die in our world of origin, as if nothing had ever happened.

But we have grand plans post-Spark we have been gathering resources and brokering alliances for the entire chain. If the M:TG omniverse awaits us then the worlds we've safeguarded will never truly be secure, and we will...take measures, to ensure what we wrought will remain inviolate, while working towards the Shining Answer.

Of course we'll stay in touch. It would be more accurate to say we will use the power of the Spark to manifest a subdivided aspect of ourself in each and every world our companions return to, so we'll be right next door even as we're a million worlds away.

We have several, actually! Now, let's not get ahead of ourselves here-even we have our limits and we're gonna have to play things by ear, probably Vetinari our way through things to avoid getting blindsided so instead of a complex grand strategy with plenty of opportunities for failure we have a number of contingencies depending which end of the timeline we Spark in. These include:

Pre-Mending
-We've been leaving behind battle moons in every world we've visited. They have a number of capabilities reverse engineered from Necron science, the Moon Cell, Soul Hackers programming and Discworld once-and-future programming which we ended to use for reinforcement of a superstructural quantum lattice
-Recent studies in Blame! science have inspired a prototype for a 12-D printer using a combination of dark matter, Mantic energy and AMP to create a sort of space-time expansion superstructure
-We have also been leaving behind Song Towers disguised as mundane ancient ruins. These instead broadcast a wavelength of our Aspect of Stasis and serve as relay nodes to our battle moons as well as pylons for the engineering of artifical leylines
-We have also been conducting experiments with various forms of primordial, spiritual fire and in tandem with a "kiln", more studies into the nature of the World Seed assisted by Glory and Soul Shard technology to create what's basically a metaphysical set of jumper cables (no pun ended) for injecting raw creation essence into a damage universe

(cont'd)
>>
>>44855543
As for dealing with the Eldrazi,
-The Elsewhere Coil is being investigated along with Ray-Drenched Cinders from Fallen London and AIM-based paramagic to study how radiations that can affect that which Is Not can be harnessed
-Speaking of radiations, our studies into the light of the soul in all its' forms have led us to develop a technique involving Enryu's Thorn, the cloning of Cambion souls derived from a Knight of Hell within our soul-hierarchy, our primordial light godess-symbiotes, our Semblance and Light Hawk Wing energy. We're investigating all our holy light sources to find the right "wavelength" and a means to direct it
-There is another plan that involves a complex network of portals, a theoretical behavior of wave-particle phenomena in Song Science-derived replications of Sting as well as Reyner's Shard and the application of Taoist alchemy on a multiversal scale. However, more data is currently needed as we have only recently attained the ability to observe all potential futures in order to direct our existing Observation-based fate operation capabilities.
-The Element of Nothingness, a sample of the red star's fire from Discworld, and the application of Black Moon Crystals to thaumic fission are being studied along with the sum totality of our research into forcefields to determine if a means of absolute negation contained by absolute repulsion in a limited space can be achieved. Thaumic fusion is, at this point, still a hypothetical but if possible could provide even greater quantities of metaphysical fuel.

We must say, though...allowing the Mending to simply happen does have its' merits, especially as we have a number of spiritual practices designed to deny or mitigate absolute effects.

Supernatural is one of the few things I know of that demonizes elephanthead of all people. Even Lords of Light just does it to show what charlatans the gods are compared to their namesakes.
>>
>>44856400
Because Fate is a bad series made for fapping and sucking idiots with phones dry of their parent's money.
>>
>>44856400
Because Cuchulain is one of those unquestioned mythological badasses. You know he's cool, and you know you can't portray him as not cool without looking like an idiot.

That's why Nasu gave his class dirt poor luck, so Cuchulain could be cool, but still lose because of his bad luck, and have an excuse that isn't his fault.

>>44856420
The phone game came years and years after the VNs, and Nasu shit has always had so little sex I imagine it's there because "My adult VNs need sex!" more than because he wanted to make something to get off.

Ganesha is a cool guy.
>>
>>44856436
Well yeah, there's a reason why he's pretty much universally beloved by Hindus, who will otherwise fight about which god is coolest and totally most important guys.

Because Lancer is literally not allowed to win because of the orders given to him by the evil priest that stole his Masters command spells.

I think the whole word-of-mouth about King Arthur blowjobs turned off some people as early as Stay/Night. I mean, I was one of them. Until I actually got a chance to play through UBW and Heaven's Feel the whole concept just kind of un-suspension of disbelief'd me. And it doesn't help they were pretty blatently inserted (no pun intended) for fanservice purposes rather than contributing meaningfully to the main conflict's mood.

I mean, they took out the most explicit mana trasnfer scenes from the Ufotable anime and nothing really changed.

In short it's Takeuchi's fault and the VN industry's fault for pandering to the lowest common denominator, not Nasu's.
>>
>>44856504
I hear a lot of people recommend the PS2 version of Stay/Night for that reason. Has the sex scenes cut.

Worst part for me is the Medea/Saber rape. Like what was even the point of that? The kind of losers into that aren't gonna play up until that point since it's only in the end of UBW I believe.

Also Wormslut's entire story ark is needlessly edgy, and that one definitely wasn't done for fanservice. Nasu just likes those edgy horrible abuse rapes for tragedy, wasn't the first time either.

How dangerous is Slayers?

Our protagonist is a murderhobo who flings around high powered spells when angry and her trump cards involve summoning Girl Azathoth in magic form and could potentially end the world if they go out of control/Girl Azathoth (Lord of Nightmares) feels like it.
>>
>>44856606
Sounds like the average DnD party
>>
>>44856624
Pretty sure the anime was actually partially based on someone's pnp games, like Record of Lodoss War.
>>
>>44856436
He's kinduva douche in Lords of Light, though, which is why I felt no remorse in supplanting him for the Star of India drawback.

>>44855944
The show and the lore hits and misses, the fact that all the pagan gods are dbags is a miss, particularly when in later seasons angels are shown to have a broad spectrum of moral players.
>>
>>44856570
Which game did you play it never knew
what a medea rape scene was a thing.
And I agree with you on that

>Record of Lodoss War
On my short list of anime I love.
>>
>>44856652
In-universe angels having a broad spectrum of moral players (apart from Lucifer for obvious reasons) is a bit of a miss really, considering early on Anna and Castiel described themselves as being emotionless

And then nope, turns out they're all a bunch of very emotional fucks floundering now Chuck's left the building and they're trying to pick up the pieces.

>>44856662
In Fate/Stay Night. Towards the end of one of the paths (I THINK UBW) Saber is captured by Medea, who seems to have been sexually tortured her all night (skirt hiked up, some finger action). The icing on the top of the shit cake for poor Saber in this path is that soon after coming to rescue her, Shirou proclaims his love for not-her (I wanna say Rin? It's been a while) and she has to sacrifice herself to save those two.

She loses really hard there.

>>44856674
Make a jump for us, anon. Be a hero.

>>44856664
Wasn't there a three way scene in the church basement ?
>>
>>44856693
Yeah, I liked it more when they were a bit more alien and eldrich. I'm not sure how much of my current impression of them is the contempt of familiarity versus a shift in how they're written.

Metatron was a great addition, though, both in the character and the actor.
>>
>>44856664
>>44856698
What the fuck is the Fate series about if it's got Arthur blowing people in a basement? I've never seen the series, but I thought it was just about bullshit magic.
>>
>>44856694
God damn that's terrible poor saber.

>Lodoss Jump
I'd jump it if only for access to the amazing soundtrack. Fuck motherfucking YouTube for blocking access to it.
>>
>>44856732
Someone who doesn't even know the basics? It's about bullshit magic spirit wars. It just so happens to have sex scenes shoved in a very few places to make it sell. King Arthur is Saber, and I KNOW you've seen Saber, and she needs to get magic from Shirou somehow, who sucks shit at it doing it properly. And all of a magus' fluids contain prana, magic. So yes, they do it. She also does it with Rin because Rin decided she was going to get both of the people she wanted and made it with both of them.
>>
>>44856732
Oh it is, and had Nasu alone been allowed to write it would be only about bullshit magic. Well. Mostly.

But a dark presence called Takeuchi convinced him to turn it the first game into an eroge. He is also the guy responsible for several other waifus having Saber's identical face because he was the original Saberfag and also one of the artists.

And then, well, after the whole thing got popular one gets the impression everyone Nasu's worked with afterwards has been pressuring him to continue the waifumania to keep pandering to otakus.
>>
>>44856732
Let me summarize fate for you
Stupid mages want to reach the root of everything.
Make a ritual about it but people get butt hurt and want to reach the root in thier own way
They summon heros of old to fight for them the first 3 wars doing nothing
Someone cheats in the 3rd summoning angry manjew God of evil gets ganged
Magic mercenary fights then his idiotic son with a wish to be an "ally of justice" in the next.
>>
>>44856776
Correction for the last one: Magic mercenary's idiot son fights his badass self from the future who wants to kick his ass because his ally of justice shit is going to get him enslaved into being the collective unconsciousness' indiscriminate hitman.
>>
>>44856760
Wait. Does that mean that if you went some type of mage in Fate that your. . . fluids are similarly magical? Unintended consequences are unintended.
>>
>>44856903
Depending on the 'verse you jump into, that'd be a hilariously effective pick up line.
>>
>>44856903
Mana potions are made of seven in nasutown.
>>44856892
Archer made me really mad I liked the whole of his character his hero of justice thing but I got butt hurt when 8 found out counter guardians are alayanas prison bitches.
>>
>>44856903
yes

I swear in kara no kyoukai it actually comes up, that there's pills made for mages who aren't as good magic made out of magus semen
>>
>>44856980
I don't know what to say about that it's a good thing you can purchase magic circuits in jump.
>>
>>44856996
I am trying to be adult about this, but my inner juvenile is cackling about how that'd interact with all the other magic and mana boosting skills out there.

Like, if you had Gift of the Thousand Master and you jump to Nasuverse does that mean you're gonna be backed up all the time?
>>
>>44856996
Even better that being a servant comes stock with a shitload of magic circuits.
>>
>>44856903
Technically it's any bodily fluid, most concentrated in blood and certain other ones other one. Now you can either go out of your way to set up a blood transfusion between compatible donors using advanced equipment, or you can have a quickie. Now which one seems more practical for your average person?
>>
>>44857021
No. You still have a normal amount of semen, but now your semen is magically charged. The more magic power you have, the higher the concentration of magic in your bodily fluids.

>>44857066
It doesn't.
>>
>>44857021
Now you see, the way Nasu magic works it's less that magic enhances your extremeties and more that your body is a conduit of sorts for magical energy.

So your semen outflow wouldn't be affected, it would just be more...potent, in more ways than one.

>>44857066
As I understand it Servants are spirits with a high concentration of magical energy and magic circuits are a modern evolution that occured long after that time. So instead of those they just have a reserve of magical energy, some of which can be used to actually do magic with, some of which is used to maintain their stats. Servants with a higher Mana rating can do more magic with theirs.
>>
>>44857074
Even the weakest ranked servant with E ranked magic has 10 times the magic output of the best human. Does that not translate to circuits?
>>
>>44857084
>>44857074
>>44857021
Note to self: avoid any setting with succubi post-Nasu. You'd be the white fucking whale for those things.
>>
>>44857084
Thank you for the explanation.
>>
>>44857093
They're spirits. They're MADE of magical energy. They don't have any Circuits, as they can't actually produce it like Magi do.
>>
>>44857093
You have to understand, circuits are a MODERN thing that happened to humans as the Age of the Gods (a time where magic was fuckin' everywhere and there were dragons 'n shit) started to end because humanity is slowly killing off Gaia with technology.

In the past there waas magic absolutely everywhere, which translates to Servants, which are basically copypasted spirits who behave accordingly to the laws of magic in the past, being able to do stupidly awesome magical feats modern humans are no longer capable of, because they don't "process" magic from ambient life energy essentially oxidised with their own internal life energy. They just sort of snap their fingers and magic goes and does the job for them.
>>
>>44857093
Well, above they mentioned that servants needed to use the mana of their masters, so I'm guessing that you don't have the whole picture. Not a Fate devotee, though, so I dunno.
>>
>>44857117
Oh shit, to clarify as >>44857121 said Servants also get the actual magical energy for these feats from their Masters. So a more powerful Master=a Servant with higher stats and more capability of wielding their own magic system.
>>
>>44857084
That's why I'm a fan of going caster if a servant I haven't found a better way A+++ mana with HSDW and A+++ territory creation.>>44857097
It's too late anon the horde comes.
>>
>>44857131
Who would you want as your master as a servant I know It depends on the war but I keep rolling prototype when I know jack shit about it.
>>
>>44857190
>It's too late anon the horde comes.
i c wut u did thar
>>
>>44857205
On a basis of pure magic? Illya. She's the most powerful master in the history of F/SN. She was able to control Berserker Heracles and still use her own magic to beat Rin in a fight.
>>
Does someone have an up-to-date list of jumps?
The one on the drive is really lagging behind.
