Its okay to bend the rules for your play group to how you guys find it fun, but I would recommend trying it the usual way. All the fun about a colorless commander deck is in the fact that its colorless. The restriction makes it more unique and fun, at least in my opinion. I really like UR this set. This wisp plays so well with the prowess creatures (specially abbot) but also with the legendary merfolk that draws a card when you xast your second spell each turn.

The main reason we get more conditional removal now is to that people have a chance of building decks to get around commonly played removal spells. So if Ultimate Price is the most commonly played removal spell you can play a deck with creatures like Fleecemane Lion, whereupon people might instead start playing removal like Bile Blight.
It's simply meant to make the meta more diverse and reward those who succesfully can predict it and prepare accordingly.

I honestly don't know what they were thinking when they decided to print a cycle of duals in a Standard environment that already had fetches. Every time Standard has had good mana bases it has resulted in four- and five-colored decks that all look very similar to each other dominating the format becaue they have access to all the good cards in all of the colors.

So I just started magic and am going to the gatecrash pre-release, this will be my first magic event of any kind. Based on the spoilers, what should I look out for/hold onto? I have a shitty budget BWEldrazi deck.

Pre-releases are usually very chill and casual since no one has actually played with the set yet.

If you get your hands on a planeswalker, you can safely sell it for the price most sites will sell it for, since planeswalkers are the most inflated cards during pre-releases.

Rule of thumb, hold onto rares and mythics if you don't their value.
With some luck and good eye on speculation you will even be able to get profit from attending pre-release events, they are the best events.

They made Elvish Mystic because they never go to Dominaria anymore, and Llanowar is a location on Dominaria and they wanted something more reprintable.
But yes, it is currently considered too powerful.
