(Forgot to put part 2 in the title RIP)

Your spearman rest a bit to cook up some Ku-fee. They all decided to take a little more grind from their Ku-fee pack, just in case things get hairy. Most of the men, if not all, snort the grind, becoming twitchy but having better reactions, and also drink a cup.

They pack up their Ku-fee bags and start to march into the forest. Right before they are about to enter the men from the fisherman huts come over to your spearman, and want to join the hunting band. They are equipped with fishing spears.

The now 19 strong band of soldiers march into the forest. Some of them learned basic tracking skills from the deer hunts that took place while the deer herd was still outside the settlement. Though they aren't finding any wolf trails. They move further and further into the forest, fanning out to see if they can find anything.

Your spearman have noticed that the fisherman people have disappeared, not making a sound. Before your spearman could make the decision if they wanted to move further or not, a roar comes from within the forest. All your spearman turn to face the noise, finding themselves facing a pack of wolves. But these wolves are odd, they're standing on two legs, all of them. They almost look like a man whose is absurdly hairy, though they are stubby. Probably the height of around half a grown man.

One of the Wolfman lets out a howl, following that is a chorus of howls.

The Wolfman get on all fours and start to charge you

Roll 1d100 for a moral and defense check. Higher the number the better your spearman are prepared to repel this attack.

(You guys rolled a 86 I think so I'm going to add 40 to the roll for this)

Ok going to take this, so 137.

Your spearman instinctively take up arms next to each other, shoulder to shoulder. The wolfmen coming barreling towards you, kicking up a cloud of smoke as they burst through the forest. Your spearman aren't shaken by their speed, they know all they got to do is stick their spears straight out in front of them to win this battle.

They were right, the wolfmen hit the wall of spears at lightening speeds. If your spear men haven't reacted in such a manner they would be surely overwhelmed by the sheer number of wolfmen running at you. After a minute of struggle and tearing, your spear men take down their arms, revealing a bloody mess with wolfmen piled on each other, killed by the wall of spears.

Some are still alive, but nothing a quick cut to the throat won't fix. Your spear men clean up their spears, making remarks on the speed of the creatures. As they're talking, the four men from the fishing village come running towards your soldiers. They are sweating, exclaiming about losing your spear men in the forest. Your men are a little skeptical.

What should your spear men do.

A)Cut them down, they're acting too suspicious

B)Believe them

C)Investigate

Your spear men start asking the fishermen questions.

"Where did you guys go?"

"How did you get lost when we were walking together?"

etc.

The fishermen look at you skeptically, realizing that you're becoming suspicious of them. They start telling you that they stopped for a second because one of them dropped their spear. When they started moving again they say you guys were gone. They swear on the River god that they're telling the truth.

Even though your spear men are skeptical, their story holds up. It's also starting to get late, the sun is starting to set over the horizon. Do you believe them though?

Your spear men decide to believe their story, seeing no reason to cut down innocent men. Everyone starts to leave the forest, leaving the pile of corpses as a warning to anyone that decides to travel through the forest. Your spear men and the fishermen return to the Fishing Hut Settlement by sun down.

The time has come again for the tribal council to come into session once more. Several motions have been brought up by the people of your settlement, the order they come in doesn't matter their importance:

>Improve the current housing arrangements of the settlement, seeing as winter is currently coming to the land.

>Improve on the food situation, the people are scared we don't have a surplus.

>Do something about the Fishing Hut settlement, your people are becoming weary because of their River God and our settlement's history with the cult.

>Do more for Ku-fee

The Fishing Hut Settlemtn has also constructed a basic palisade. They say the wolfmen attack is warrant enough for some basic defenses. They're requesting that you send more troops to protect them, in return for something. They're offering fish, another raft, some

Your spear men believe their story, partly because the sun is starting to set. They make their way out of the forest, leaving behind the corpses of the wolfmen as a warning to anyone that comes into the forest. They make it back to the Fishing Hut Settlement by sundown. One of the fishermen catch your one of your spear men call it the Fishing Hut Settlement and tell him that it actually has a name, Riveria. The fishermen also make a request to your village, send some more soldiers. They're requesting it because they only have about 15 people that are armed and if the wolves attack with more than 30 creatures, they're scared they're going to get overran.

The time has come again for the tribal council to come into session. Several motions have been brought up by the general population, their order doesn't match their importance. Though your people have to pick two to start on right now, unless you want to anger the rabble.:

>A)More work to be done on the town itself

>B)More food stockpiled

>C)Something to be done about Riveria

>D)Scout up the river

The council has convened on the motions brought up by the general population, deciding to go with stockpiling food to help the people get through this winter. The council thinks its best to start using the river as a food source, sending out a couple people on the shore to fish. After a while, they start to catch something. If they people keep doing this, they should have enough food to last through winter, if the river doesn't freeze over that it.

Riveria has put in a request for more soldiers, sounding more desperate with this new offer. They're offering around 3 turns worth of food for 15 more soldiers. Will you agree to these terms?

>1)Yes

Riveria is initially hesitant, almost declining this counter offer. After a few talks about what would happen if we sent our troops home, they finally caved to having a Ku-fee temple in their village. They start eating the Ku-fee, liking the feeling they get from it.

Another half month has come. Winter is starting to creep down the mountain and towards the settlement, Riveria is almost covered in snow.

The tribal council is in session, this time in the Ku-fee temple, for the first time ever.

Riveria invites your tribal council to their village, to convene in the temple you built. The subject of this meeting are the stone tablets outside of Riveria, which the Riverians say they know that the tablet are instructions. The tablets are written in an ancient, dead language used by the dwarves that used to live in the mountains. They don't know what it says, but a trader came by Riveria and told them about the tablets and what they possibly mean.

They know one thing, the top line of one of the tablets says "Cross here before, cross here never."

The tribal council has decided to train more men into the military. Twenty young men have been trained into the military. They are stationed in the settlement.

A runner from Riveria has finally made it to the settlement, almost freezing to death on the way. He brings news of what happened in the forest. The news of wolfmen in the forests, ready to hunt anyone, has the settlement on edge. They're requesting you send an expedition into the Forest to find the Wolfmen's lair and kill them all.

The Ku-fee followers are starting a new holiday, Ku-fee day, the day when the first villagers tried Ku-fee for the first time. The festival is marked with snorting a lot of Ku-fee, exchanging Ku-fee recipes and having mass Ku-fee berry pickings. A new deity has started to also gain steam, Ku-fee, worshiped by around half the town.

The tribal council is also in session, ready to answer anyone's questions.

Your tribal council decides the best course of action is to hunt the Wolfmen down, cutting them down before they stalk you in the harsh winter. Your army assembles, 80 men in total. Forty Ku-fee followers want to join in on the hunt, armed with basic weaponry and basically no armor. A mob of sorts. This is all you have on hand, seeing as the people in Riveria are stuck in a blizzard right now and can't get to you until the snow clears up. How many men will you take on the expedition to find the Wolfmen?

Your tribal council decides to send 45 brave men into the Forest, to calm the populace down about the fears of a Wolfmen attack. They are all given extra provisions(-2 food) and extra Ku-fee for the expedition.

The brave 45 men are blessed by the Ku-fee god. The men say goodbye to their families, not knowing what the future holds. The tribal council decides to give them an escort of 20 spearmen, though they are not going on the expedition, just bringing them to the edge of the forest.

The brave 45 men shake hands with their comrades before setting off into the cold, dead forest. The leaves have all fallen off the trees now, the ground is rock hard with a fine coating of snow.

Your expedition explores deep into the woods, venturing to the point that they are surrounded by cold forest. A few men are about to give up the expedition because of the cold when a couple of shanty stone buildings come into view. They are in a clearing in the forest, though there is no one around that your expedition can see.

One of your spearmen decide to muster up some gut and push into the darkness. He takes a step in, breaching the darkness with his hide boot. A sound comes from within, a breeze. Nothing. The spearman walks around, getting used to the extreme dark and realizing these are just ruins. Nothing of value in any of the buildings. The spearman emerges from the darkness, unscathed, and waves to the warriors in the forest. All of a sudden a strong snow storm blows in. The wind is extremely strong and causing your warriors to have hard times seeing in front of them. What would you have your troops do?

(Only one choice)
>A) Leave the buildings and try to get back to the settlement

>B) Bunker down in the buildings

>C) Stay put in the forest

>D) Push forward through the forest.

Inspect and loot what you can while you're at it. Keep guards of course.

Can you update the map?

>The ancient Egyptians mastered the art of masonry as early as the fourth millennium BC, constructing their temples, palaces and pyramids from the large veins of limestone, sandstone, granite and basalt found in the hills of the Nile River.

Maybe we have deposits too down the river, or on the other side.

Your troops decide to bunker down in the houses, not wanting to get lost in a blizzard. The houses are small, yet cozy. Your troops start to search the houses, searching for anything of value. The darkness doesn't help with their search, but their eyes are slowly adjusting.

Alternatively, we could use this newfound settlement as a small mining community if we ever find a source (whoever made these houses used stone istead of the abundant wood so there must be something around here)

True, but we'd need a bit more than a quarry to justify a new settlement.

Your troops find nothing of value in the house, realizing that these buildings are basically ruins. Your people are intrigued though, the use of stone to make houses. It's actually quite warm in these houses, and much cozier than the hide tents. The troops start settling down for the night, ready to wait out this blizzard.

And that's where I'm going to end the thread. Really tired and I'm having a hard time organizing the maps and shit. I'll be back tmmr at around 12 midnight EST.

Going to hang around for a little though if anyone has questions about anything.

How fantastical is the world, other than werewolves? Are there real deities or just human made concepts? Are there orcs, undead, machines, magic?
>>
>>44622340
How do you plan to play this quest? Do we have to declare everything we must do or some stuff can be assumed to go automaticaly?
Like the wolf furs who didn't got skinned after the ambush?
>>
>>44622361
Got to find out :x

>>44622366
Probably going to streamline it a little. I've been just winging this civ quest at this point, though I have a few ideas.

Also I was assuming the soldiers wouldn't stay around in the forest to harvest and carry all the fur back after almost getting mauled by a bunch of wolfmen. If you guys didn't roll a 137 in that battle it could of gone a different way(I added two rolls).

>>44622352
I got you, ku-fee is life.
>>
>>44622395
I thought warriors were all about trophies. Especially since they're seen as more beast than man.

>Got to find out :x
Fair enough.

If you want to streamline it you can always use a conquer land concept :^)
>>
We also should go back to that poison plant. Probably not now because it's winter, but once spring shows up..

Would expand the pantheon of not just a ku-fee god, but a god of harvest.
>>
>>44622366
Also if you feel like something should be done, you can always write it in. For example this:
>>44621338
>>44621355
>>44621380
I'll generally RP write in your posts, because I'm going for around a half a year to pass in between each main map update(Tribal council meetings)
>>
>>44622428
Yeah I forgot about that part of the quest after I started making the map. Just assume that the bushes died in the winter and will come back next season.

>>44622415
I suppose so, I'll try to keep that in mind when I write.
>>
Ok gn guys see you next thread.

Keep the Ku-fee god in your hearts.

Peace.
>>
>>44622433
Once the hunting party comes back, if they do, we should have mandatory training for all the able bodied males in the village, that way we won't have to waste a turn every council session, make it give a smaller number of troups instead of a big chunk
>>
>>44622470
It's not that easy. Everyone does something in the village most likely. You need lookouts, builders, ku-fee handlers (bush gatherers, powder grounders, water collectors, boilers, fire makers). It's better to just automatically subscribe a percent of the population as trained warriors. Currently I think 18% of the population are trained warriors, which is quite reasonable, or 1 in 3 men.

If you're looking to just professionally train citizens for an order day, then I think that's a bit more social advancement than the current timescale allows.
