Giant Spider vs Space Marine, Who would win?
>>
>>44618954
I would say the spider.
>>
>>44618954

Why do spiders look so fucking angry all the time? They aren't even intelligent enough to BE angry.
>>
>>44619329
Spiders don't look angry, dude. They look like they've got business in some other town and they're half an hour late and their boss is gonna kill them if they don't get this shit taken care of by the close of business today and you'd better not get in their fucking way or you'll regret it.
>>
Wasn't there actually an arachnid race they wioed out during the crusade?

Aus-fag here, spiders can get angry.
I guess the technical term is 'extremely agitated' (You've been try to shoo it away with a stick), 'under enviromental stress' (You've just gassed it with a can of bugspray to no effect) or something along those lines, but there are some species of spiders you definitely don't want to piss off, and I've swear I've seen spiders hold grudges.
>>
>>44619477

I can get behind "Hostile as all fuck" and "Desiring to become the Anti-thesis of all life" but I don't think they get "Angry" in the way other, more advanced animals do.
>>
>>44618954
anyone else remember that 1 movie with the little cabinet thing that the kid put toys in and they would come to life...sometimes i wonder what kinda shit would happen doing that to a big ass group of space marine minis
>>
>>44619477

You have mouse-spiders and funnel-webs, those fuckers don't need to be agitated or under stress, they are fueled by the conceptual need for murder.

>>

Now I feel kinda bad for them
>>
>>44619550

The Brazilian Wandering Spider purposefully seeks out people to bite them, it's venom is fatal and extremely painful.

It also gives you an erection, and extremely painful erection while the rest of your body feels like your are being flayed and salted.

It's favorite hiding spot is inside bushels of bananas.

Don't feel sorry for spiders, anon.
>>

thanks couldn't remember the name at all
>>
>>44618954

We fought a Giant Spider in Deathwatch once. We wounded it and drove it off. later we recovered the body, turned it into a servitor and named it Gary. Gary went with us on several missions, until finally on a mission into a space hulk he was finally lost to a swarm of Genestealers. I still miss Gary.

That sounds hilarious and horrifying in equal measure.

Spiders aren't great at fighting things that are armored and can hurt them. A tiny guy in literal steel armor with a chainsaw-sword would probably fuck one of them up something fierce.

It started as a book, though. I had to read it in grade school.

Hey whats it like living in a modern day Catachan?
>>
>>44618954
Ungoliant would defeat the 40k universe.
Shelob could probably take any Space Marines who lack plot armor.

If we're talking about Warhammer Fantasy giant spiders, then you have to remember nothing had a Warp Presence in Fantasy, making everything a Blank. So Blank giant spiders. Factor in that most spiders were magic via Mork's pet spider god, and you have a Blank Daemon giant spider. Which could still kill any non-plot armor Space Marine.
>>
>>44624997
>> no warp presence
>>basically a blank
>> but still magic because of warp spider God

Make up your mind Anon
>>
>>44624997
Nope, just because you don't have a warp presence does not make you a black, necrons don't have a presence and they are not blanks.
>>
>>44625057
>Nope, just because you don't have a warp presence does not make you a black

yeah look at vulkan....
>>
Remember, blanks have a NEGATIVE warp presence, not a lack of it.
>>
>>44625045
Fantasy rules m8. Divinity is seperate from Warp presence and rules are contradictory.

Light magic for example is made of Warp, like all magic, but it disrupts all other Warpstuff by removing Chaos taint and restoring it to pure Materium status. Since souls in 40k are Warpstuff, that means Light magic destroys all 40k beings with souls and any machines with a spirit in it while restoring the inanimate and Fantasy beings.

When you mix settings, you play by the rules of both. Which really overpowers Fantasy usually.
>>
>>44625160
All magic stems from Tzeench, even light magic, its all his as he is the fount of all magic.
the contradictions merely represent the truths of the changer of ways. The demons of 40k and 30k exist in both settings, meaning the warp functions the same. the souls of fantasy are still the same as souls in 40k.

Bottom line, no its not different, your just trying to wank yourself.
>>
>>44625127
>yeah look at vulkan....
but he LIVES
>>
>>44625314
Until the white guy stabs him...
>>
>>44625255
It comes from Tzeentch, allegedly, but plays by different rules in a big way.

Souls work 100% different in the two settings. That's why afterlives exist in Fantasy but not 40k.

>>44625369
No it doesnt lol

The warp is the realm of souls, its the same in both settings, tying them to each other. If we accept that then the nature of the warp is the same.

easy and understood
>>
>>44625476
Its been literally stated there are afterlives. In the end of Fantasy they'd diminished due to the fading strength of the Gods of Death, but in End Times Nagash took over the afterlives and reinvigorated them. Now in Age of Sigmar, all souls belong to Nagash in the Realm of Death, not the Warp.

Try reading some lore rather than just repeating what you read on 1d4chan.

I don't get why that many people are afraid/hate spiders. I mean, I can understand if you live somewhere where they can poison you, but otherwise, they're pretty cool dudes. They eat up those fucking annoying flying things, and won't bother you.
Worst they can do is say hello to your face from close while rapelling from your hair. And even then, they're harmless.
Goddamn it, you guys are as brave as a IG regiment made up from NEETs.

I allow spiders to live in my house, provided they stay in places i do not go. Windowsills? Free game. Garage corners? Not like I was usin em. The fridge? OK, now you gotta go.

Otherwise, yeah, spiders can be pretty cool in that they keep those faglord flies away.

Still arthropods, which is really how we should refer to chitinous creepy crawlies in general.

Still its comforting to know that their relative "super strength" and endurance are limited by physics because crabs, lobsters and the like are massive but have no superpowers. So a man-sized ant isn't as strong as a man-sized man but an ant-sized ant is stronger than a ant-sized man.

I will accept this clarification.

Off topic, but I used to wonder why only arthropods had regulated caste behaviours bees, ants, termites, but it turns out that the naked penis rat behaves in a similar way.

Wouldn't it be weird to live on a planet where instead of constantly squashing little armoured scuttling things you had to squish and toss out little meaty sausage things all the time?
