I honestly really respected the hell out of Bryke until this post. I thought, and still think, they were ingenious writers who gave us a show and a world brimming with personality well beyond what you can normally expect from kid-oriented entertainment.
But then Bryan made this incredibly smug post brimming with cishet guilt and patting himself on the back for having the balls to make two cartoon characters bisexuals, which was a little disappointing.
Then when Star Wars came out he made another lengthy post about how awesome Rey was and how similar she was to Korra. Now I'm a minority on 4chan: I really liked Rey. Which is why I don't want to see her act anything like Korra.
Mike is a little more low-key though.

The thing about Korra and Asami's relationship is, if you ignore the last 5 minutes of the last episode, there's about as much evidence for it as there is for, say, the Zuko/Katara pairing. All the evidence is just people reading motivations into actions because they're trying to justify their fanfic pairing. And that's what Korra/Asami feels like. Bryan was just lucky enough to be one of the showrunners for Korra so he could put his fanfic pairing in the show.
And what's sad is that I think a Korra/Asami relationship could have been really good if it had actually been written into the show. Korra was really emotionally vulnerable after S3 and Asami was pretty much the first person she opened up to after that. Things could have easily crossed the boundry from a close friendship to something more at that point. At the very least I don't think it could've hurt S4.

To be fair, the fans are far, far more annoying than Bryke could ever be, because at least Bryan and Mike are more intelligent, less visible, and actually creative.

This is probably my greatest fear. Unlike the shows, Bryan has absolute control over this work since he's the only one involved with it. I don't know how that's going to manifest, because to be frank beyond a few implications we don't really know what stuff in the shows was his idea, Mike's idea, or someone else's idea. For that reason, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's interested in things other than gay cartoon characters and conflicts that boil down to "you can't do X because you're a girl!"

I call bullshit on that. First, I have a hard time someone could be such close friends with someone as liberal as Bryan if they have politics like that. Second, Mike hasn't ever demonstrated really any kind of politics outside of agreeing with Bryan that Korrasami was a good thing, though granted he doesn't' really say much about anything.
I don't doubt he's at least a little more conservative than Bryan, who has explicitly stated he's interested in social justice. But that could mean anything from him being an actual Nazi to simply being less inclined to discuss his politics with people. Given the nature of the shows he's worked on, I doubt it's the former.
I could buy him as something of a libertarian though. Large governments are almost always shown to be problematic in both shows.

Don't. Those comics are written by fans, with basically no oversight from the showwriters so they're completely inconsistent. The saddest part of the whole series, really.
I could buy the idea of Aang having these people following him around. He had this sort of jovial charisma that made it hard to dislike him and despite his lighthearted attitude he demonstrates competency constantly. Even then though, people having to warm up to him (like Sokka) was the subject of several plot points.
But everyone just kind of accepted Korra at face value even though she was immensely abrasive and confrontational, without even getting into her competency or lack thereof as a leader. Even Asami was angrier when Mako than with her when Korra straight up kissed her boyfriend. By Season 4 she has scores of people willing to die for her even though by all rights those bridges should have been burned by Season 2.
