Rolled 71 (1d100)

Last time on Forbidden Love you have determined that you will move in with your girlfriend in her dungeon, trained some more, raided some dungeons, and proceeded to rob a certain dungeon heart blind. Said dungeon heart as since sworn revenge...again. Naturally you proceeded to sell all the treasures and loot you have acquired earning you no small fortune. Much of which was spent on acquiring a pair of gauntlets and little else.

You have since started to peruse the black market and after finding items that even their sellers aren't sure what they do. You have decided to find someone who DOES!

So that is how you ended up here standing in front of blind sage huddled under a old tent and sitting on a ragged rug. According to the rumors this guy knows things that are even unseen and there is very little he can't identify. How he does this while blind and not even touching the item in question no one knows. What is more peculiar is the means of payment the old sage takes.

For you see he doesn't want treasure or money. What he takes for payment is stories and 'good things for good living' as he puts it. In other words things like good food and drink as well as other possible luxuries.

This may be due to him being old and crippled as he says dying as well. No one believes that last part though considering he even managed to outlive an elf.

What do?

Besides the power guantlet, we're trying to keep our eyes peeled for stuff we could buy that will help us in our style.

"Do these exist?"

In addition, I would need goods that I can actually buy in the near future related to my style. Maybe you can use the above list and think of less expensive similar items? The jist of them is
Reaper Armor that is good for direclty camoflauge in combat, if possible also being hidded under normal clothes to disguise
A weapon to help us against magic
A shield
possible forms of flying beyond shoes more befitting a reaper,

Oh, and most of all:
Something to help compensate for a lack of partying skills so we can solo dungeons (at least parts of them) without it being a stupid idea

"A demon forger is your best bet. Your in luck got one here in the black market. A real bitch though. Good news his she is a dwarf. Bad news is she is a dwarf who went of the deep end. Probably why said dwarf got into demon forging in the first place. Unsurprisingly demons hate her guts but I have yet to hear of something she can't forge. Even had one crazy bloke ask her to forge water even more crazy she actually pulled it of! I mean how do you even DO that?"

"Yeah they exist. Harpoon is very rare most stuff like that is merely meant to serve as a dimensional anchor to prevent things like outsiders from fleeing. As for the armor...I heard of stuff like that but nothing to be so precise as that. Probably find it among the concealing demons who have a thing for death and shadows is your best source."

"Wings like those? Insanely rare and expensive. To be able to use all those types of energies AND all from the same source? Fucking hell that sorta thing can even make a dragon go broke."

"Voice concealers like this is piss common in the blackmarket. Like you can literally pick and choose which one whose voice you like the most."

"Things that allow for phase through is one thing especially through magical material but it ALSO reduces magical damage? That last part is making it particularly expensive. Nothing like it here in the blackmarket. The first half can be found here though but the second...only shadow sects who have a thing for safety would be willing to pony up for the second half too."

"Shield like that is ALSO very expensive. Portal magic always is especially considering you want it to be reflected back at them the same way. Better of with a reflector shield kid. Granted portals are fun but they are difficult which greatly increases the price."

"Too many types of magic I can't give you something that works against it all equally."

We should give all of our possessions to nova so that she can store/use/sell as she needs, and in return all she needs to do is help us figure out the most optimal sets of gear for our needs and have vek provide maintenance.

{Found Dungeon list for others.}
4 dungeons in the forest, 1 legendary labrynth, 1 secret entrance, gf's, and finally the last one was a surprisingly well obscure forest dungeon. No ordinary forest dungeon though...according to your GF it stinks of fairy and is most likely a rare 'Fairy Forest' dungeon. She strongly advices staying away as its notoriously difficult to deal with. This was something even you knew as the rare Fey type dungeons are notoriously difficult to deal with.

The black market area as it turned out to be the surprisingly literal underworld is sponsored by the shadowy forces and adventuring needs for the mega dungeon beneath the town. Obviously they need a source of goodies the powers that be frown upon also there is goodies brought up from there that they don't want being sold. Either way profit is in the foul air of those rancid reaches which you explored.

From Thieves Guild HQ to the Assassins HQ.

You explored and discovered ANOTHER hidden entrance to the super dungeon below town. Turns out there is a much closer route to get in without going through the annoyances of the surface checks.

You also found out about there apparently being a shadow sects stationed in the area as well as a slave market.

We've spent alot, learned alot, and now we can digest/plan. While it'd be neat to look at the slave market I don't think we need one for any task at the moment, and it may piss of the GF, especially if we showed up with a female. That said a peek could give us an idea if we could get someone to help with something specific. A non-consenting battlebuddy/trap fodder? Just kidding.

2 connected crit 1s...

Its been a long while since I last got to write one of these up...heheh.

You proceed to try and go through the additional hidden entrance or so was the plant. Alas you got lost...but eventually you DID find an entrance!

Which turned out to the official entrance. How you ended up from the underworld area to the heart of the town and through the official entrance you don't know.

Still you got in and proceeded to try out your sneaking abilities. This is the first layer so your rather safe even should you encounter an elite or boss monsters. This is also fortunately the largest layer so the odds of running into anything too bad is patheticly low.

Alas today was not your day as somehow something detected you and that something turned out to be the Big Boss of the Layer 1. An infamous foe so strong even veteran adventurers go out of their way to avoid it. Yet it here it is...near the entrance and it is onto you.

Talk about bad luck...

At this point you decided that for once instead of fighting you will attempt to talk your way out. Hopefully its receptive as this monster is very strong.

Unfortunately it wasn't very receptive as it closed in when suddenly it paused when it saw a ring on your finger...that was when it finally spoke.

"Hm...a ring from a dungeon keeper? As well as a Collar...this was not according to plan. You an agent yes...never seen an agent with both. Perhaps...partner...lover? Should know better then to intrude."

Shadow abilities activated.

You attempt to swing at the enemy only for your attack to hit the enemy with a clang. Meanwhile your shadow proceed to slap it with termites when you suddenly retreated.

The enemy as soon as it realized it was getting munched by a bunch of termites with a sudden bellow unleashed a pulse of energy. Afterwards the insects fell to the ground noiselessly as the enemy proceeded to charge at you once. Except this time a bit more angrily and clearly gnawed upon.

In front of the crowd was run one wounded and very tired you.

"FUUUUU-WHY IS HE STILL AFTER ME GODDAMN IT!"

Finally once you passed the threshold and kept running the others soon joined you...at least those that survived anyway. Looking behind you could see a scene of carnage as the big boss suddenly halts before the doorway. You proceed to go back and pick up everything else you had miss as quickly as possible. Figuring doing so would be good for your speed training. As you return you are shocked to find a clearly wounded Boo sitting at the entrance. The big bastard was wrapped in some red splattered bandages and you could see what you think is his guts spilling out a bit from his abdomen. For some reason however this doesn't seem to phase him much. He simply takes a healing potion and continues sitting patiently before stating that your girlfriend has yet to return.

So you enter and find out that the room has clearly been changed about. The bed is not nearly so big and some other stuff was moved around so as to make room. That was when you proceed to unpack your rather meager belongings.

Plant gem can be used to help with plant based things.

Gnarled Gloves and Greaves is nature plant specialized equipment that you looted previously.

The white whip is a peculiar weapon whose specs you aren't entirely sure of.

The death demon hood function you do not know even when you wore it. The boots on the other hand...vastly increased your speed. Even when compared to the other pair of speed boots you possess.

You decide to go to sleep. Or at least try until your girlfriend wakes you up. Apparently being 'very' excited with you moving in.

That was when Vek cackled about how you are going to have a VERY long night...and tomorrow. You thought things were a bit suspicious particularly when you noticed a spell went off and those peculiarly lust inducing energies suddenly starting to descend on her and suddenly she got MUCH more heated as she descended on you with increased passions.

"VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK-"

"Told you I would get payback bitch boi...and this is just the beginning HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHHHHAHHAHHAHHAHHAH," madly cackled Vek.

So it proved to be a VERY long night...and it didn't end the next morning either. As she woke you up early the next morning battered and exhausted only to further exhaust you before letting you go to attend class. Apparently she had 'stuff' to plan for and will do so while your occupied. You were little more then a half asleep zombie during the classes due to a mixture of sleep deprivation, exhaustion, and soreness.

That it can indeed. Dungeon Heart manifestation abilities are incredible. Magi love studying them because of how extremely good they are at transmutation. Despite all the studying they can't figure it out.

>>44631056
Thing is we specifically rolled on our compass for things that will get Vek to definitively like us (or hate us less) and/or a dungeon companion for him for when Nova is away/he's pissed at us.

...these rolls are sad.

Yet amusing.

never get to see bad rolls outside of crit fails...

----
You proceed to look around for stuff to loot but honestly you could of done better. At least if you weren't looking for bugs a lot. Bugs are tricky little buggers...your not sure why Nova likes them so much or fungi for that matter. As she puts it though they are cheap and effective. Considering what those terror termites did to that elite boss she actually does have a point.

Funny you never really seem to use them or Nova either for that matter.

You decide to keep exploring. The marshes it would appear to be are filled with monsters. Very possibly strong monsters and there are a lot of them. Otherwise there really isn't anything to note but MONSTERS!

Well now things are gonna get interesting...

-----
You decide to follow the compass. It eventually leads you to some swamped ruins down a flooded passage that ended in a deadend...problem is the compass kept pointing beyond it. So that was when your girlfriend approached it before whistling as if it were very impressive. That was when she put her gauntlet ed hands onto the dead end. Suddenly magical runes flared up as the dead end melted away revealing a passageway. Right when you were about to walk down it your girlfriend stopped you.

"nice try."

With that the passageway too started to melt away...revealing a door. The door as she started to push much harder started to shake and rattle in protest. Finally with a horrid screech it opened.

What stood beyond was a gaping cavern surrounded by a chasm. At the center of which was a pulsating beating core that was levitating. As soon as you stepped across the threshold suddenly it shuddered and paused. Only to start beating much more rapidly.

That was when your girlfriend spoke up.

"Well I did NOT see this coming." After a pause. "and apparently neither did the dungeon."

That was when you heard a roaring voice in your head.

"HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE? HOW DID YOU FIND THIS PLACE!"

>>44635227
Yeah, if our lady friend didn't want to run I would push to attack. So if we can get it to think we are just here to train and loot. Then maybe it will believe us and let us go, I hope anyways.

Don't need to fight anymore bosses just yet.
>>
Anyone got any possible ideas on how we could recruit this dungeon heart?

. . .or if we can capture it?
>>
>>44635401
IF there is no dungeon lord for it, maybe. Yet unlikely based on our lady's actions.

As for capture, we just have to get good. Once we can take on bosses then we got the power to do something. Which means waiting on our weapon and finding loot to finish our death demon set. (I doubt we would get far by just grabbing it and hauling ass.)

Because I wasn't going to tell others. I assumed you would have already knew I was with a dungeon keeper, like the boss I met. I have no reason to make other adventurers job easier. I just wanted to train and find something nice.

So I'm not here to fight and I will tell you how. If I can get a gift for a friend and be on my way. I hope that will be aright with you.

"Like I said, for a friend.

Maybe it was magic, or maybe it was destiny. But I desired very hard to find a friend for my friend. Someone to keep him company, someone who thinks alike, who he'd love to meet.

Someone who would want to share everything he knows about how he grew his wildlife and his bugs, and meet someone with her own style. Someone who knows what it's like to prepare and grow and nurture so many projects, each plant each nest each but cared for and catered and grown as though it were his own children.

(and who doesn't like his well and long time planned shit stolen from him before they are ready)

To have someone he could discuss a lifetime goal and hobby with.

And as we searched for that person. . .we found you."
