are llamas a lot more valuable then sheep or is the inflation in this setting just really high

in 3e a sheep is worth 2 gp

but yeah the resources to be harvested will make it a pretty good reward.
>>
I actually dig that. It's a renewable, sellable resource (wool) that can pack our stuff and any valuable wounded.

But not you, John. You lay in the lamaless, unwoolen dirt and you die.
>>
>>44539634
2 gold is a good inn room in 3e too, which just means they have no idea how much an actual livestock, even a cheap sickly one, costed at the time.
Your avarage sheep, a common and easy to breed animal, should be around 30 per sheep. A cow could go in the price range of 60 to 100 gold considering the huge investment it is.

Considering these are fine quality llamas, a relatively hard to breed and fine woolen animal the price should be quite high. Though that also depends where we are. For instance, a horse would be of incredibly high value in western europe but go to hungary and some parts of asia and you'll get one relatively cheap.
>>
>>44539728
i suppose your right prices for mundane items is one thing the designers could never seem to get right.
>>
>>44539634
>>44539728
They can also defend themselves. Since these are fine quality llamas i'm sure they have acid spit property bred into them.
...
In fact, why do the village needs you anyway? Ten acid spitting llamas should be enough to scared off a group of bandits.
>>
>>44539865
my guess is they just wanted to get rid of them because the maintenance of acid spewing llamas are through the roof, i kind of don't expect the average small village to be able to take care of ten of them for an extended amount of time.

Depends on the horse, though. People assume all horses are the same, but in fact Medieval warhorses are practically extinct, the last extant strain being Friesian workhorses. And anyone who has ever seen one knows those fuckers are absolutely huge. Reminds me of the bad history we used to get taught: About Medieval knights cruelly burdening their horses with all that armour. A Friesian wouldn't even notice.
