This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son, shortly after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Genin graduate named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence, and your jack of trades skill set have brought you far. The final portion of the Chunin Exams is underway!

Would that work? Genjutsu requires some feedback between caster and target, I'm not sure a pre-set pattern would be as effective. I know that genjutsu can be sealed into a Sharingan to activate later, but that's a living organic structure with a lot more ability to adjust to fit the situation than a static seal. It's worth investigating, I suppose, but I'm not confident about the idea.

You can use the log regardless of whether it's there or not. Doesn't matter the environment, nothing can stop a ninja from substituting with a log. I like to pretend that it's some majorly long-lasting jutsu on Hashirama's part to provide wood on demand for swapping with. Really it's just a visual gag the series is fond of.

He unlatches the rifle on his back and swings it forward, and it unfolds to reveal it's two length. He cradles it in his arms, marching over towards you in his military boots, glaring.
This is the second time you've heard him speak. "I wish you luck, comrade. In battle, we are of one nation. The victorious."

I liked this guy. Also, i we beat him and face Boruto, i say we should give up. Why? Because, by the end of this fight, we'll probably have no hidden tricks to use against him. He knows we use genjutsu, he knows about the bells and he knows about the poison. On the other side, all we know about him is that he can use Kage Bunshin and has his own variation of the Rasengan. He's way too dangerous to fight now.
Unless we manage to go full Aizen on him, i don't think we have any chances against him. Besides, we took down a Jinchuuriki and a prodigy. Takeshi has proved his point.

You clutch your fists, and turn back. For the third time, you go marching down the long hallway leading to the arena. Previously, anxiety and fear had almost possessed you. It was only a bit of crazy determination that let you keep going, but this time, you have to restrain yourself from running forward. You swing open the doors, and the cheers of the crowd deafen you. They're really hyped at this point, explosive display after explosive display making every last dollar spent well worth it.
Anzai is opposite to you. The two of you look slightly similar from a distance, average builds and medium length dark hair. Anzai's skin is almost glowing white, however, notably pale in the late afternoon sun.
Udon throws his hand down, and the fight begins. He leaps away, and you take a combat stance. You expect Anzai to strike immediately, but he holds up his hand.
"I'd like to ask you something."
You blink. "Huh? You're way more talkative than usual. What is it? We should really be getting to it.."
The crowd is still cheering, although it's calmed down quite a bit.

You and Anzai both begin to step towards each other, and the crowd starts to mumble in confusion. Where's the crazy ninja action? The two of you continue to walk in your combat stances until you're only a couple of feet away from each other. You get a good look at Anzai, and from what you can tell, he's only just barely larger than you physically. He starts, shooting out a left jab that you block. Your hand has a dull sting to it for a flash, and in a moment he's continuing his attack.
Ducking out of the way of a right punch, you shoot a single jab up through his arms and hit him square in the cheek. His face rocks to the side and a stand of saliva is slung out. He turns back, a grin on his face.
At first it looks as though he's going to throw a wide, overhead punch, but he feints. You had shuffled to the left to dodge the incoming punch, but Anzai brings up his knee into your chest.
All of the air is pushed out of your lungs, and you're launched at least a foot into the air before you hit the ground, gasping.
Anzai slowly circles, letting you stand back up to your feet. He wipes away a droplet of blood from his nose.
You put your fists back up, as does he.
He whips a few more left jabs, putting pressure on you. What do you do?

Duck, dodge, dip, dive and dodge! You narrowly manage to avoid his attacks, though you can feel your body start to heat up from the exertion. Soon you'll be sweating, and even sooner still you'll be exhausted. While you're fairly well balanced and capable in Taijutsu, you're not used to long, drawn out melee encounters. You mentally note to yourself that you'll have to pace your stamina, and keep an eye out on your breath.
Anzai misses with a right hook, and you take the opportunity to fire off a punch into his solar plexus with all of the strength you can muster. He grunts and coughs, before gasping in a breath of air. The moment of weakness lets you follow up, and you rain blows into his body.
You get the feeling that each of your punches aren't doing much damage on their own, but wearing him down may be crucial if you intend to continue this.
