I yearn for an Arcanum campaign with /tg/ guys.

Not really.
>[ - ] The Printing Press exists?
Yes
>[ - ] Telescopes?
Yes
>[ - ] Gunpowder Cannons?
Yes

Yes
>[ - ] Firearms are common?
Yes
>[ - ] Effective Lanterns?
Yes
>[ - ] Gas Lanterns?
Yes
>[ - ] Common petroleum products or similar?

Light. Early industrial revolution/Victorian setting

Not really.
>[ - ] Common Wireless communication (including magic)?
Telepathy is a thing.

Please note that magick and technology are basically polar opposites, as explained in the following documents.

Magick has always been a dominant force in the continent of Arcanum. However its power is waning since humans stole dwarven secrets and started developing their own technology. Due to their short life expectancy, humans focus on intensifying production and ushered a new age of steam powered machinery. A battlemage may be worth a dozen riflemen but the latter are much easier to train and arm, thus the industrious city of Tarant has swiftly crushed the opposing realms and united them into a Commonwealth of city-states that are in all but name Tarant's vassals.

Although some hasardous attempts to harness magick in technological ways have been done, nearly all of them ended abruptly when spells or artifacts fizzled and turned a laboratory into a smoking crater or when gears suddenly started to turn in the wrong direction, causing major malfunctions that swiftly brought a colourful death to unfortunate and brave inventors.

cont.

>General level of tech: Iron Age, Bronze Age, Renaissance, Pre Modern, Post-apocalypse
Iron Age
>Magi-tech: An sentence or two to describe if this means anything in your world.
No, magic is extremely rare generally anyway
>Special: Special caveats or mentions. Keep it short if you can.
Sword and Sorcery type setting, leaning heavily on late antiquity and early middle ages, fantasy components are common, but more of the non-magical kind, meaning mythical creatures etc
>>
>>44508311
How is it that everyone (save for the "savages") can read without schools being ubiquitously available?
>>
>>44508518
The literacy rate is definitely a lot lower in rural areas, but being able to read is definitely common in cities where idle upper class ladies devote their time educating the poor and needing.
>>
>>44507976
>Everyone can Read?
Literacy is common throughout the low and midlands, rarer outside
>Academies exist for the higher ups?
Yes,
>Schools are available to the common folk?
In the midlands mostly, Lowland cities have schools aswell
>The Printing Press exists?
Yes
>Telescopes?
Yes
>Gunpowder Cannons?
Yes
>Personal Firearms exist?
Yes
>Firearms are common?
Not everywhere
>Effective Lanterns?
Yes
>Gas Lanterns?
Powered by "I can't believe it's not gas!TM," better known as Miasma
>Common petroleum products or similar?
Ichor acts as fantasy petroleum and magic mutation liquid
>Light bulbs are common?
Only in the 'Great City'
>[Light / Med / Heavy] Steampunk?
Light everywhere but the 'Great City' which is med, but replace Steam with Miasma
>[Chemical / Mystical / Sci-fi-level / Good-ol Mad Science] Alchemy?
Good-ol mad science
>Some form of stand in for the Automobile?
Halflings pilot old world mechs if that counts
>A common form communication operation (Horse & Mail)?
Depends on the region, some use horses some use airships
>A curd communication network (Signal Towers)?
The northern warbands use fire and smoke for communication
Some cyclopean ruins have tall metal towers that blink in the distance
>Uncommon wired communication?
Telegraph is fairly rare
>Common wired communication?
No
>Common Wireless communication (including magic)?
Yes, old world towers, half buried still allow for common radio communication
Magic works too
>>
>>44509242
>Electricity?
Yes
>Some form of Power generator?
Miasma/ichor generators
>Magic effectively stands in for electricity.
Depends
>Tesla Coil deathrays
Cyclopean, Kobolds and Gremlins might accidentally set it off
>Steam Trains?
*Miasma* trains, yes
>Magnetic Trains?
Only far below the ground, connecting the decaying Cyclopes cities.
>Common Teleportation?
No
>Artificial Flight achieved?
Yes, airships and whatnot
>Some form of airplane?
Miasma powered airplanes are possible, but not common
>Airships Transports?
Yes
>Airships Fortresses?
Yes
>Orbital Platforms?
See below?
>Moon Castles?
The moon is a massive mechanical construct, with clockwork gears spinning far below it's surface.
Created by the powerful spelljamming cyclopes empire so their new home would have a moon.

>General level of tech: Iron Age, Bronze Age, Renaissance, Pre Modern, Post-apocalypse
Post-apoc, remnants of old technology such as firearms, mechs, and room spanning computers
>Magi-tech: An sentence or two to describe if this means anything in your world.
Magitech exists in two forms. Computers can be programmed to preform magic but only where the radio towers can reach.
The other form is ichor technology, anything that uses ichor really.
>Special: Special caveats or mentions. Keep it short if you can. Keep it short if you can.
The miasma and ichor comes from an old worldbuilding thread no one bothered to archive.
