I'm actually going for a DF vibe with it. I'm shying away from tales of dwarven civilization and locking the entire story in a place heavily inspired by the Underdark. The goal is never to show the sun throughout the entire arc of the comic.

It's a cave, not the cave. Like the underdark, the world Yon takes place in is meant to be incredibly massive and home to a dozen different cultures and races. Drow will feature heavily, as will fishmen in later arcs.
Most of what I take from DF is the idea of a small group of dwarves- there are 22 in total, and each of them have names, designs, and lineages that influence their designs. I have a family tree for the dwarves, if you're interested in seeing it.

Yon fills the role of a Delver, which is sort of like an advance Scout. It also puts him in a great story position, because like the Founder of the town of Amberhearth, Yon goes to new places and meets new people so he can bring back word of it to his home.
In general there are two large family groups in the town, the Goldeyes and the Delvegrins. None of this ever gets any play, but parents and children share the same skin and hair color, so I wanted to get a general idea of what I was working with.

It seems like you've got not a bad start, but my major issue with >>44488486 is that the panel layout is a little jarring, with panel 8 bumping into 5 a little too much, especially with 5 being so dark. For later pages, I'd say to model them after other comics before you start experimenting with nonconventional layouts.

One thread rule. If there's room for doubt (Dwarf comic is not directly /tg/, but it's definitely close), we should extend the benefit of the doubt for one thread. It's once it gets beyond that where it worth pulling your hair out over, but even this thing is probably not too bad for two threads or so.
And, the guy does have artistic talent. The dwarf designs are a little n64, but he does have fun with light and color, and who knows what other skills he might show off. Quit trying to scare away everyone, and relax a little.
