What does a truly immortal society look like under the conditions that -
>Fertility is that of an average human
>Health is pretty much guaranteed barring injury
>Technology, at the time immortality starts, is on par with the tech we have right now
overpopulated

Overpopulation surges as we all become India. Mass killings occur, as humanity is split between perpetuating peacefully and tolerating cramped and unreasonable conditions until a long-lasting solution is met, and killing the excess population to regain some semblance of normality, no matter the cost.

Who would sanction the killings though?
Im assuming crimes, especially murder, would be punished pretty severely since the world quickly gets filled up.
Assuming OP means disease isn't an issue, every teenager on earth will be pregnant multiple times before they reach adulthood - no danger to the immortal baby and the parents.

You really think the government would punish those kinds of killings? ... I feel like some would intentionally regulate them.

This. It ends with everyone except a select few getting their tubes tied and society survives.
Or society ends and we all become immortal cave men after the nukes drop.
Watch Zardoz.
If you are truly immortal then the scope of certain crimes changes drastically. Assault becomes a minor crime while anything with long lasting mental effects becomes drastically worse.
Also since people can't die some extremely cruel measures would end up being taken for permanent punishments for those that would normally be executed.

I'd expect massive overpopulation and therefore a need to conquer new planets to inhabit.

>Or society ends and we all become immortal cave men after the nukes drop.
Sounds like an interesting setting.

umm

>Barring injury
So I think execution would end up working

Subhuman trash

I assumed that with it listed as truly immortal nothing would really kill people and instead major injuries would be more of an inconvenience.
