I made a wasteland faction generator table thing.

http://pastebin.com/rWD3HkhG

Here's the pastebin, It needs 13-14 d100s.

Feel free to roll on it and give critiques. What should be added? Would some things work better than what's already in it? I kinda threw it together after a long shower thinking about it then about forty five minutes of typing so it's pretty fucking far from perfect or even good. I just really like these table things.

Maybe we can make a setting out of the factions that are rolled up.

I wrote up a band of 20 wasteland raiders yesterday, giving them all detailed appearances and an outline for their personalities.

My players will probably just blow them to bits but hey, it was fun.

Ignore the link in the OP, that's the one I had a brainfart and forgot two things I originally meant to include but didn't.

That'll happen, but half the fun of being a DM is designing encounters for your players.

I wouldn't take it that far, but I would say the fun is being creative in designing challenges and situations to put players in. It requires a lot more creativity than actually playing, at least in my opinion. At the same time though, I find it's a lot more fun to be a player.

Sorry for being not incredibly intense about the thing. I'm really tired and am going to bed now.

I'll just bump the thread now and hope it's still kicking tomorrow.

It's neat. You may want to check out the website Seventh Order of the Random Generator, which would let you automate this.

A leaders-less group of nomads, we follow were the money goes. We have a penchant for fixing and scrapping devices and are happy to trade for the right price. Dressed head to toe in enviro-suits and with a notoriously prickly view to outsiders, nobody likes to mingle with us. But if you want the best scrap around, we're your go to tribe! Just stay on our goodside, stranger...
>>
>>44459024
It doesn't quite work, because it's restricted to just 9 tables. So I had to have only one of the roll twice tables and left out the flag ship table.

Also, I'm not entirely sure how to put the link from there to here. Look for Post-Apocalyptic Faction Generator (Abridged), under Other.
>>
>>44459218
Man, thank you so much for doing that. It's literally one click to generate so it's a lot more convenient for quickly doing a lot of them.

It's at http://www.lastgaspgrimoire.com/generators/the-seventh-order-of-the-random-generator/ if anyone else is interested.
>>
>>44459292
No problem. That website is fucking weird, but it's really handy. Even if it forced me to unfortunately truncate the generator.
>>
Recommendation: Tribe signature weapon. Be it a machete, pistol, or energy weapon, what is your tribe most known for wielding?
>>
>>44459323
You could do gang / leader / ride split up into separate generators.
>>
>>44459134
Because of our tribes adept scrap locating skills, some say we have the best automobiles in the wastes. Even though outsiders may look down upon us as asshole anarchist savages, blood and fraternal love runs deep among our tribe, with men and women alike willing to die to protect each other. Our cars are unlike anything the wastes have ever seen. They are both a place of residence and a means of transportation to us. As such, we learn from a young age how to take are of and maintain these all terrain monsters. Each is decked out in armor and weapons, so raiders and wasteland savages will think twice about attacking our convoy.

Type of leader if there is any. What kind of guy is he? What is his background? Who he was before the war (if we are dealing with Mad Max style recent apocalypse). Lord Humongous, Immortan Joe, Aunt Entity, Toecutter and Master Blaster all would lead differently even if given the same gang.

>16-50: Part-Lives. The general norm, people die of cancer or other genetic problems fairly young but some make it to old age. Wouldn’t appear too ugly or malformed by today’s standards, but certainly not the cream of the crop physically.

>86-95: Mercs.

>1-45: Dictatorship.

>41-50: Not the Lingua Franca.

>56-60: Uniforms.
>15-30: War Paint.

Unique/Exclusive Resource
>1-20: Guzzolene. Black gold. Everyone needs it, and it isn’t too rare to come by but not too many have the means to refine it. This group does, and it can be extremely lucrative.

>41-65: Well-crafted. Just because it was made in the post apocalypse, doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Well made armor, guns are machined with actual technique and thought, and houses/clothes are a little more respectably made.

>41-70: Classics. Muscle Cars, roadsters, and trucks. The standard rides for most in the wasteland. Tough, reliable, and intimidating.

>51-60: De-Construction Equipment. Cars are mounted with buzzsaws, mini-excavators, and plows for wrecking enemy vehicles.

>11-20: Destruction Vehicle. A huge construction vehicle re-outfitted for combat. Maybe a huge excavator, an armoured bulldozer, or a mini-Bagger 288.

>86-95: Old World Blues. A pervasive nostalgia about the old world runs through the group, even if they weren’t alive to see it. They might collect old world artifacts, try to take after what they think are old world values, or have an unrealistic drive to rebuild the old world somehow.

>66-70: Big guns. Heavy machine guns, flamethrowers, maybe even an autocannon. The group can pack some serious heat in a vehicular combat situation.

Shit, these guys are pretty cool.

Guzzolene and Green - we put on a tough show, riding around in the lightning-mobile, fucking with anyone who gets close - but that lightning mobile runs on peanut oil, and under the leathers and war paint we're really a bunch of pastey hippies.
