This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son, shortly after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Genin graduate named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence, and your jack of trades skill set have brought you far. The final portion of the Chunin Exams is underway!

You gulp, your throat feeling dry. As you stand up you take a deep breath and glance around the arena box, at the other genin.
Undoubtedly, this will be the moment that defines your passing or failure. Mari knows about your poison know, and she's a full blown prodigy.
Pretty much as bad as Boruto or Sarada.
The two of you don't say a word to each other as you pass by, taking opposite ends of the hall to walk down the stairs and loop back around and come out of the bottom. As you step forward and glance around the battle scarred arena, you wonder to yourself what sort of mark will be left once this fight is done.
Once you meet in the middle, you stare at her from across the arena. What do you say?

You smile. "This should be fun, to say the least." You hold your fists up in the basic combat stance that you learned while defending yourself from Shikamaru. You chose to lean more towards speed and stamina as opposed to strength, and that may benefit you in this fight particularly.
Mari places a hand on her hip. You notice that her Byakugan is already in full activation, the veins around her eyes enlarged.
"That is, if you don't chicken out." She grins as well, and you feel the sparks of a white hot rivalry start to fire you up. Mari was the first time you really overcame all on your own, even if it was a tiny, meager victory followed by cowardice.
Your fists tighten, and your smile widens. For a moment though, you stop. Suddenly you relax your hands , and look around. You chuckle briefly "How did I get here? In just a few months.."
Mari takes a combat stance, holding her palms up. The standard Gentle Fist. "From what I imagine, purely through trickery. You would have never beaten Usagi without the poison."
You smile. "It's a good thing I had it then, huh?"
A vein throbs on Mari's forehead, and she growls. "Shut up! Can we get this started already!?"
Udon grumbles, looking annoyed. "Yeah, if you two are done! Jeez..Begin." He leaps back.
She starts walking towards you, and you put your fists up again.

I assumed that Byakugan really enhances vision, and since the pupils constrict to such a point where they are no longer visible. Since they cannot constrict any further, that means that any bright light source engages the photo-receptors fully, causing blindness.

Guys, she has the rotation. The only reason a long ranged attack would work was if we used them repeatedly in an effort to force her to run out of chakra.

ah, you're referring to the moment of "Activation" more or less when the screen zooms in on their faces and the veins throb. I didn't know that, but yes, I can see that being the activation process of the jutsu
but the actual effect is way different. They can see across every visual spectrum. Infared, ultraviolet, thermal, x-ray, 360 degree vision with one small blindspot, and the ability to scout dozens of miles ahead purely with their sight.
The Byakugan is anything but a regular powered up eyeball. It's Sharingan tier, but it fell to the back seat in the show.

1) Keep using it, but she'd be on a massive timer form blood loss.
2) Turn it off, but the speed at which she does it would be important. If she tries to stick it out then turns it off, she'd have blood in her eyes. If she shuts it off immediately, she'd have no blood in her eyes but she'd still be able to see somewhat.

She suddenly rushes towards you, and you speed through the handsigns for Water Bullet Jutsu. Your cheeks puff up, full of water, and you blast a soccer-ball sized orb of liquid at a high speed. It crashes into the ground in an explosion of dust and water, as Mari leaps away.
Her speed is so great that she blurs from your vision as she dashes, but you noticed that she has to land and resume a normal speed before jumping away again as the net bullet crashes.
She lands again, and you delay the last shot by just a second, and this one comes much closer to striking her. The bottom of her foot is skirted as she jumped away, and it causes her to flip out of balance mid-air from the speed of her dash.
Surely, she'll right herself before she lands, but this could be your moment to attack!

It's more of a last ditch thing. But it involves getting close and blowing our weapons pouch with an explosive tag as close to her as possible.
Ideally, we would have a combat vest and some spare weapons placed around our persons, but put the tag in-between our vest and weapons pouch. The combat vest would absorb most of the blast, the weapons would shoot outwards, and I do not think even Gentle palms could block a blow at close range.
Then, we could back off and recover any damage with the healing jutsu we learned (not 100%, but enough).
If we manage to get a cut near the eyes, use senbon bells to paralyze her until she bleeds out. I'm hoping the explosion would manage to get a cut at least near the face due to shrapnel, and with the amount of blood coursing through a minor one would be enough.

I've basically come to this conclusion.
Every Jinchuriki besides Naruto, Bee, and Gaara are dead unless I'm mistaken. Since at the end of the series Shukaka wasn't in Gaara, I'll assume that he doesn't return to him either.
However, not going to assume that naruto permanently gets three jinchuriki in him as a power up either. Just doesn't seem right really, that was the finale blowout thing. He's strong enough as it is.
So, all other tailed beast aside from 8 tails and Kurama are gone, and are going to reincarnated as new tailed beasts.
Some haven't shown up again yet, others already have Jin spread out around the world. Usagi is one of them.

Well, I didn't think Naruto actually had Gyuki and Shukaku in him. Just bits of them holding together the impromptu rush job that was sealing Yin Kurama. He didn't show the ability to use any of the other tailed beasts' powers in The Last (or the Truth-Seeking Balls, either), so those seem to have been temporary power-ups. Actually, since she bitches about our poison constantly she might have a way around it. We should hit her with the bells and then poison her with standard shit, then fall back and pepper her with water bullets. Her only real defensive Jutsu is rotation, and getting every muscle in her body working like that should speed it up.

Sure, it was only using cheap tricks, and sure, it was only one hit, but we could have just as easily jammed a Kunai in her head. Lee said as much. Mari is flipping through the air right? We don't need to hit her to injur her, if we throw out some belled senbon and set them off now, odds are she won't be able to adjust herself to the landing and she'll hit the dirt hard, hurting her a bit and paralyzing her at the same time.
So this is what we do. Mini is probably gonna revote in the next thread so we just vote to use the bells while she's in the air, she lands hard and gets hurt, and while she's still paralyzed we pepper her with a couple handfuls of kunai and senbon with the regular poison. If we get more than one hit on her then the poison will work faster than usual.
We'll have to dodge her for a bit longer but eventually the poison will take effect and she'll start slowing down for us to finish her

If you cast a Genjutsu on Sarada it won't even register. It'll just cancel out or backfire on you. If you do it to Mari, she'll be able to see she's in a Genjutsu and dispel it.
