As far as demons go, in Medieval art demons often present some sort of temptation or are meeting out punishment in Hell. Rome was an interesting place for sure.
Romans (traditional Republican Patricians at least) looked down on homosexual discourse because the Patrician class was surprisingly prudish and thought that sex only for pleasure was considered immoral, and that sex in general was a low and dirty thing.
People keep forgetting that the stories of sexed up Romans were usually used by other Romans as a way to disgrace their opponents and state that they behave improperly. Excessive lewdity was considered a plebeian thing, far beneath the more refined and intellectual minded elite.
I do not think Roman society was anywhere near as oversexed as a lot of pop-history paints it, with either 'homosexual' or 'heterosexual' acts. At least, during the Republic era.
