I'm not sure if it's because I don't want to wear that on my sleeve in public, or just because tabletop games apparel is consistently tacky. I might not be someone /fa/ could save without at least going through /fit/ first, but I can at least put in a little effort, rather than the "I've given up" look.
But inside the venue at a con, probably best I do wear the garb, because I do a lot of demo'ing, so it helps to be clear as to what I'm there for.

Obviously it's fine from an aesthetic standpoint. Conceptually, though, it's alien to me. I'm not one of those dickbags who demands that every tattoo needs to be some deeply symbolic thing about your dead brother or overcoming heroin addiction, but I feel like it should be at least somewhat about self expression, so using someone else's creation kind of defeats the purpose in my mind. Also, I'm about as proud a capitalist as you can get without lapsing into full on Steven Colbert style parody, but the fact that it was created by a company makes it even worse to me, since I've always thought defining yourself by what you buy is kind of stupid.

As for apparel, sure why not. I wear T-shirts I have won from WoW tcg tournaments, I got a Twin Comet necklace from my Husband 2 birthdats ago, the list goes on. But like any clothing, there's a time and place for it
I usually don't wear hobby branded shirts, but if I do I like subtle stuff.
Even blatant shirts should be fine if the design isn't tacky, I don't see the problem. It's not like having a symbol from some /tg/ game that nobody will recognize is the same as wearing MLP stuff.
