It's about as dumb as not accepting people who use anime avatars baka desu senpai. Portraits restrictions are understandable, however, and appropriate for setting the mood, anime only in my Maid RPG game, unless you use a character from either Dr. Strangelove or Eraserhead. I'm thinking of running a modern day game of some variety (maybe Call of Cthulu) where the only allowed portraits would be cel-shaded like in 'A Scanner Darkly.'
