If you used a thicker blade or had a jagged cut, you would still bleed around the burnt areas. Even if you do manage to close the wound with fire, doing so in a blunt manner like combat will make you bleed internally which is a form of bleeding out.

Physical attractiveness can be a measure of how much somebody wants to be liked, but how much a person wants to be liked doesn't particularly correlate with how good a person they are anyway. Conversely, who actually cares that much about how someone looks when deciding whether to spend time with them?
