Meh, I think some of the early 3D games were good. Never played Sonic Adventure, but Sonic Adventure 2 was pretty good. Even the introduction of the edgy counterpart to Sonic wasn't all that grating. It went downhill with Shadow the Hedgehog, when they amped up the edge with COMBAT BUGGIES and GUNS and MINOR CURSEWORDS BECAUSE SHADOW IS 2COOL4URCENSORSHIP.

Well I'm kind of just intruding on a general chart with my own setting detail there I guess. I like nymphs as a fantasy character option; they have a general type and a completely wild number of subcategories, each with its own specialisation and powers. I'm not just talking of nymphs of clouds, streams, trees, stars, etc. but also of more distinct types like Maenads, Lampades, Melissae and Themeides. Thinking of it though I am probably ripping this in part from Orc Stain, where nymphs are a winged female counterpart species to the all-male orcs.
I also like the potential implications in nymph mythology that they can be powerful, even godlike (the Muses, Melinoe, the Kabeiroi) and that potentially there is one nymph for every individual plant, tree and natural phenomenon (named nymphs like Leuce who appear to be the only nymph for their designated plant), Rather than anything about birth, I think this works better as a career system.

I have a tendency to play characters who are married usually with a teenage son or daughter.
My last character was an old man cleric who was married with three kids (all young adults now).
We were passing through a forest and were beset by a tribe of all-female wood elves. The rest of the party were non-humans (dwarf, tiefling, dragonborn). Apparently one of the head elves liked my cleric's 'stern yet wise eyes', saying she could tell he'd gone through a lot in his younger days and that she wanted to 'test his mettle.'
It became glaringly obvious that these elves were a bunch of horned up human-boos and that my old cleric was the first human they'd come across in years. Tension rose when he declined, pointing out his wedding band and declaring his love and loyalty to his wife of 25+ years. So the elves attacked and captured us.
It was a fun and funny arc that everyone enjoyed. At the end of the campaign, my DM (who's a good friend of mine) admitted that he knew he could trust me to stay true to my character and that he didn't have to worry about suddenly going into detail about how many elves my cleric impregnated.
tl;dr - Shit like this is fun when the players and DM didn't show up to get their ERP on in a non-ERP game

What if it wasn't a magical realm thing and your GM secretly had a great plot hook prepared if your character did a romance arc, but had no way to introduce it except heavy handedly?
This probably isn't the case but I have more than once shied away from an idea because I was afraid it might look fetishy or that the players wouldn't want romance introduced to the run.

Online game, never met the guy in person. It was such a pity too, because aside from the fetish nonsense, it was a GOOD game. If he could just run things with both hands on the keyboard, it could have been extremely fun-instead, it bounced in and out of Magical Realm and tainted every good memory I have of it.

We have a situation vaguely like that. One of the PCs in the party has been forcefully engaged to an NPC as part of a political marriage. Both he and his fiancee are disgraces to their families and this is seen as the only way they'll be useful.
Neither of them is really too keen on the idea but they're technically required by law. The PC is having none of it while the NPC is like, "Well, might as well make the most of it."
We've avoided it by adventuring far away but it's going to come back up at some point.

Some people do use online tabletop tools for live games-while I'm personally a big fan of minis, maps, and dice, some games (especially the FFG Warhammer 40k ones) just run a lot quicker and smoother if you use macros and virtual tokens.
In my mind, the dubious part is the CR20 mythbitch dropped on a mid-level party. Then again, players who try to steal from massively powerful NPCs tend to have a bad time.
