I would like to run a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game for my friends. Is there a system for it? Has anyone seen/used it? S.T.A.L.K.E.R. thread, I suppose.
>>
I havn't seen a dedicate STALKER system.

I would say that GURPS is probably your best bet. Not because "HURF GURPS RUNS EVERYTHING HURF DURF" but because GURPS does gunplay well, specifically.
>>
Ops and tactics.
>>
We did AFMBE but it's really rooted in zombie horror so GURPS would be better because it's broader spectrum.
>>
>>44229535
neuroshima could work
>>
There is an official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. roleplaying game. It goes with the interdimensional aliens story from the original short story as the cause of the anomalies though, not radiation like the video games.

Radiation didn't cause it, the sleeping scientists did.

How different is the original from the games, universe-wise. Are there artifacts/anomalies/bandits?
>>
>>44229535
Hi OP. I can confirm what >>44229572 said. My friends and I play in a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GURPS-based campaign and it works extremely well in terms of skills, tech and combat / gunplay.
>>
>>44229697
there are anomalies and artifacts but the game and the book are two diferent world, you shold read it overall all, it's very good but very diferent.

>>44229745
I actually have it ordered, I'll be reading it over the weekend.

>>44229739
Okay, I'll check it out.

>>44229637
Neuroshima? I've heard of it, no idea what it is though.

I know someone who made their own d100 system. It's missing stuff but a lot of it is there
>>
>>44229791
polish post-apo system. It's wasteland can be easily modifaied to fit the zone, it has a lot of guns modded, most classes are stalker like in themselfs and has some neat mutant ideas. The system itself can be frustrating from time to time (you can susrvive a point blank shot gun shoot to the chest with no vest, but a pistol from 100 meaters has a chance to 1 hit kill you) but overall it is easy to convert to any post apo or seemingly post apo world

Nothing triggers me more than using cyrillic to spell in english.

Also, GURPS works well for it because of its nice gunplay.

russians have long since stopped giving a shit
>>

Well, in the book anomalies/artefacts are just decors for a very clever commentary about society and human condition (I'm not making this up, I swear). Bandits are the centerpiece there, the book mostly describe how people rise from being stalkers to owning "legal" businesses.

Either way, I'd love a setting based on Snail on a Slope.
It would be like Paranoia met with a bizarre post apoc

Well, it's actually named stalker the scifi rpg, since it's based on Roadside Picnic and stalker the movie. Not S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Which is the vidya game that takes inspiration from them. Minor thing, but one must understand that there's hardly any game mechanical gun porn. Just a system that relies heavily on GMs ability to create atmosphere.

It's probably the most rules light system I've ever played. The book is a must even if you don't want to use the system, though. The world fluff sections are a must have for any stalker inspired game. And because of the light rules, the book consists mostly of that fluff.

Only War of the Warhammer 40kRP system by Fantasy Flight games is actually pretty good for Stalker, Just have to stay away from setting specific stuff like the Lasguns and imperial priests and enginseers, and make like 10 variants of the Autogun.

Otherwise the Silhouette system is pretty easy to work with too, but you'll have to learn it, and then build pretty much every asset you want for it. It handles modern combat in a fast-and-lethal style and the system itself is far simpler than Gurps, once you get into it, it'll be easier to make a Stalker setting for Silhouette than Gurps, but with OW most of the content you need exists just has to be thematically converted.

>original short story

Name and author, please? Google is giving me a bunch of stories about women being scared of creepy guys, plus like one or two fanfics about the game.

Many thanks, stalker. I'll have a look.
>>
>>44229535
like >>44229572 said it has a good gunplay, lots of modern aplicable skills and if you want rules for anything that any type of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. could want do to survive, also it does have GUN FU rules if you want.
