A system that does that would need to be made in such a way that card counting is a desirable thing. Otherwise, you're better off rolling 2d6 for virtual dominoes(which is something I have been thinking about).

I'm making a system myself where people casting magic draw from a same card source, each card representing a number of magic energy the character was able to channel that turn.
It is supposed to simulate a reality kinda like MtG and Amber, where magical energy comes from the land, and is a shared resource.
Card counting is advised as it would be seen as the mage being savvy about when to channel energy from his readings of his opponent's castings.
