Hey /tg/, me and my group are nearly done with our starter campaign and the group has volunteered me to be the next DM.
So what's a good way of breaking the ice with being the new DM and getting the group accustomed with my methods?
Is there a certain way that you DM? Or do you just wing it and see what happens?
I'm pretty anxious on being the new DM so I'm asking if you can give me some pointers.
practice, literally you can talk on /tg/ for weeks and not be any better as a GM, id say pick a system, find a pre-made adventure and hope for the best

I want to be at least somewhat prepared before I jump into a new pre-made campaign.
I was thinking of setting up some small scenarios inspired from video games to get everyone familiar with me.
I'll be posting whatever is my gif folder to get more input.

I believe in you anon. If anything, practice speaking in front of a mirror

Kiinda.
Just create things in the world that you think the players will be interested in. Things that appeal to their characters motivations. But don't go overboard and don't hand them all their life dreams on a silver platter.
