>Warhammer 40K is based on everything that was cool in the 1980s about sci-fi and fantasy
>Except He-Man
Why is this?
>>
I have the power (sword)!
>>
It's a big Galaxy. Just call it an isolated feudal world with a chaos/mutant problem.
>>
>Except He-Man
I disagree. He-Man is mash up of scifi and fantasy with little logic to make a glorified toy commercial.
>>
>>44190268
Because they took 80s tropes more than they took specific 80s persons, places, and things.

>what is technobarbarian

The only thing cool about that movie is Frank Langella. Everyone else looks miserable to be there, but Frank decided he's going to ham it up for all its worth and it's awesome.
>>
The real question is where the Transformers are in all of it.

Have you seen AoS?
Took GW a while, but it's there now.

> Why not He-Man?

40K is based on 1980s stuff that *adults* enjoyed, not kids' stuff. Punk, biker culture, glam rock, post-apocalyptic stories, jingoism, robot anime like Macross, etc.
>>
>>44190268
Because he's basically Conan, and they already have multiple Conan references.

>>44191054
That Land Raider that fucks all the shit up after its crew is killed.

>>44190268
Cause He-Man fucking sucks

Don't forget pretty much all the concepts from the Foundation novels.

Is that you Skeletor?
>>
>>44190268
They couldn't steal EVERYTHING from Warhammer Fantasy.
>>
>>44190268
Because He-Man is Conan for kids.

Orks are literally Lockjaw you dongus.

Mwah!

Ahriman is 40k's Skeletor and Black Library is Castle Grayskull.

It's an easy fix. /tg/ has been there before.

Best explanation for the machine spirit, ever.

The Machine god is the all-spark. It's the only reason the Imperium still has any working tech at all. A sparse but scattered legion of transformers are helping humanity as much as they can. Often living on forge-worlds as factory machines. Helping humanity even to the point of helping them on the battlefield. (In the form of LandRaiders, StormRavens and other high tech machines.)
