Thats a gross oversimplification and you fuckign know it.
Magnus specifically went against the Emperor's orders to stop fucking around with sorcery, and in doing so singlehandedly ruined the Emperor's fledgeling webway. Which was one of the final steps to getting humanity to another level entirely without having to use the warp for navigation and all the bullshit that comes with it. Not to mention deal with the rebellion instead of having to sit and keep the warp from fucking over Terra.
All because NOOOO DAAAD you dont know best, it'll be different for me. I now what Im doing.

Flame Falcons were all destroyed by the Grey Knights for being on fire
Emperors swords had the misfortune of building their Fortress Monastery on top of a Necron Tomb and not noticing it waking up
Angels Revenant got caught in the initial wave of one of the largest necron invasions of the Imperium's History and it was Flayed Necrons so extra bad luck
Fire Hawks got lost in a warp storm and turned in to demons
Really any destroyed chapter that didn't know what was about to happen counts as unluckier than lamernters

The Emperor clearly made the wrong mistake at Nikea, given that he turned around and reversed it later. Destroying the webway gate was Magnus's fault, but it was the Emperor's pointless secrecy that led to it (and lead to the Heresy).
